Merry Christmas and Happy New Year you lovely lot!
If you haven't been to Shropshire - shame on you! It's so unexplored that it's unmissable, which I realise is an oxymoron, because if everyone discovered it, it wouldn't be unexplored, and then it would be much more missable. So it's up to you to get ahead of the queue and disappear into the Shropshire Hills as soon as you can; where, if you keep your eyes open; you might see a deluded, ageing hippy and an overexcited lurcher sneaking about trying to find a place to put up a tent.
In this one I deliberately put my Pioneer 2 (tent) on top of a hill where high winds were forecast, why? Because a) I wanted some adventure and b) I wanted to test my tent out! It was slightly daft, because if the winds had hit 50MPH they could have very easily flattened my tent; but as it is the tent is still with us and because I wanted to be a bit daft, I consider the mission very much accomplished.
The Dog (the famous and highly regarded Chezza-Pooch) wore her best pink dress to satisfy our fashion conscious viewership. Again - any positive comments you might feel obliged to leave about her dress-sense will go a long way to bolstering her morbidly fragile ego.
I hope you all have had a great 2023 and I hope that 2024 brings you much wind, rain, sun and snow, you get where you want to go and you enjoy the journey to wherever or whatever that might be.

Hi, Great video. Love the fact you can get the dog in the tent with you and still have room. I came across you searching for reviews on the Pioneer 2. I'm looking for a 1/2 man, spacious tent around 2kg for cycle touring and occasional hiking and this seems to tick the boxes. there usually only be me, or me and a grandkid. I had a Vango Hurricane years ago and it was a great tent but it had little venting and little mesh and was unbearable in summer until late at night. I was wondering if you'd camped out in warmer weather and how the tent did. Also, I've read complaints about the inner and outer touching on the non-vestibule side! Have you had this problem, or is it just people who can't set their tents up properly complaining. Many thanks in advance for your views. PS I live in Shropshire to 👍
@@ianmatlock1 The inner does touch the outer sometimes. It's a sweat box in hotter weather. For the money this is the best ,4 season tent, would recommend it with a Lanshan 2 for cheapest/best all year round set up. Definitely a 1.5 person. Wouldn't want to camp with my son in it, just enough room for me and my pooch. Thank you for the comment. ,:-)

My best Christmas and New Year wishes to you, your family, along with Chezza. May you visit lots of lovely spots, and let the upbeat mood stay with you for the whole next year! You probably didn't know that, but in Belarus where I'm living at the moment, there are 2 Christmas celebrations: on 25 December and 7 January, the Orthodox one. The New Year cult and festivities beat them all though!

Great video mate. I used to have those problems with summit meals, you want to seal them after you’ve added the water and pop it inside your jacket while you wait. Ive found that a good 15 mins is long enough to have absolutely 0 crunchy bits 👍

Hi James, just discovered your channel. Love it... and cherry. What a hound! I live 40 mins from the shropshire hills and yes, they are truly undiscovered. My wife is from near the Yorkshire Dale's and I think shropshires hills are equally as good. I loved the130 snowdonia trek! Stunning scenery. What hill did camp on in this video?
