Thank you for the detailed lesson. I have watched your videos in customizing but it is so nice to have just the scalp steps together. I have bought supplies but because of eldercare issues in two different directions, I haven't been able to focus on dolls. Just changing a scalp looks like a nice starting place and your video breaks down the steps very nicely.
Glad to help! There are so many smaller things anyone can do to customize a Blythe doll and I hope this makes it more approachable. :)
I just starting learning about these dolls. I am considering buying one for each of my granddaughters and great granddaughters, customizing them and sewing a wardrobe for each. I think I need to buy an inexpensive one to begin with and experiment to make sure I can do this because of neuropathy from myelomalacia.
I hear you! Icy dolls are a great place to start as they come with all the features but are overall less expensive. :)

I don’t agree on your statement that the factory scalps only fit RBL dolls. Aside from RBLs, I have several RBL+ ＆ FBL dolls (both factory ones & Takara Stock dolls) I’ve never had any problems fitting any factory scalps on them. That being said, there are sometimes few differences In factory scalps, depending on where you buy them. nonetheless they all fit perfectly on my Stock Dolls as mentioned above. Anyhow, I’m interested in how you came to your estimation that they’ll only fit RBL dolls? ;-) best wishes
Hey there! Thanks for your comment and info...I rarely change the scalps on authentic dolls so I'll admit I don't know if I've ever tried an FBL...I do know for sure they don't fit SBLs and I think the RBL renew as both have different scalp structures. My comment was more geared towards newbies who might not even know there are different molds and that they should verify the doll they have before purchasing a factory scalp (I myself learned this the hard way with an SBL). ;)
@@BeBeDolls hi, sbl And radiance renews obviously don’t fit due to their totally different scalp structures, as you mentioned :-) FBLs are compatible without any problems. No pun intended, I really like your videos. They’re super helpful (especially for newbies). Just wanted to share that with you in case the assumed non-compatibility would stop you from buying / customizing an FBL doll. I really love fbls ;D
BTW: do you know any place / seller that still offers factory FBL faceplates? I only got very few left :( bought them like 10 yrs ago. Would be super nice of you if you Gould send me a DM. Kind regards.

@@BeBeDolls I assume it’s pretty difficult finding those these days…;-/ I got a couple left, some blanks and 1 vinter Arden faceplate (95%sure), RBLs I still got some stocked luckily - but I’m kind of two minds about ‚using them up‘ since it seems unlikely to get ahold of any nowadays…or the one seller / shop I know of selling authentic parts, such as scalps, eyemechs, the doll’s stock things, etc. is selling at unreasonable prices. Haaa, the Good old days are over :(

Where can you buy different hair scalps from? All I've been able to find is the bald kind.
