    She’s really cool..unlike almost all graining tutorials that show but don’t tell she’s not afraid to tell you everything,even the colours of her glazes.and she’s a craftswoman.
    Thank you very much for that.

    Congratulations you won CZcamss unofficial “How to help someone achieve amazing results all in one video” award. But seriously, watching your brush strokes was a big help + the tip of adding a little poly to gel stain rather than applying as a dedicated top coat made a big difference .. did my 3 garage doors they turned out amazing 3 neighbors so far have offered to pay me to do their doors… no way I wanna be the only house with the sexy wood garage doors! Thank you for taking the time to save me a lot of time and frustration.

    Great video. I'm a faux finisher but haven't done much for a good 10 years now. Did a lot of wood grain. I'm checking out some videos because I'm about to get into it again and looking for pointers, but the first videos that show up are for that Retique stuff or using that grain rocker exclusively which makes things look like contact paper.
    You do wood grain exactly how I did - chip brushes! And a little bit of a graining tool.

    This is such a good tutorial. I’ve only just been a scenic painter for 3 years and this is the best i’ve seen it explained. Nice work!

    Absolutely Beautiful.....this is the most concise, easy to understand and totally within the ability of most of us watching. ...Thank you so much for this. You have such great talent. I know I can do this now.🥬

    Great video! You narrated so well, others will learn from you. By far better than most videos online. I have only been doing faux wood for a year and I love it. Currently doing a flush panel garage door to look like wood planks. My least favorite part of my project is keeping my straight edge of plank as I work on them.

    This looks beautiful! I'm in the process of refinishing an old built-in cabinet, and the stain is not adhering to the wood very well. After spending days removing layers of ugly paint and sanding the entire thing, I have no desire to use still more chemicals and sandpaper trying to correct it. I've decided to do a faux wood look, and will try this technique, and maybe some others, to get it to look the way I want it to.

    Great job! Your technique and color combo is spot on. I want to do my entry & garage door this finish. Do you remember what color name/# from Behr was mixed in your primer? Also, your burnt umber glaze... is that a 50/50 combo of paint and water? Any color specs you could give would be greatly appreciated. Thank u

    Wow, that's beautiful. But I got confused after you laid down the foundation coat. When you dipped the sponge in and made the big strokes, was that the same paint you used to paint the individual slats in the doors, using the brushes to make it look like wood? Or did you use another kind of paint for the slats in the door?

    Hi you’re been helping me a lot !! Thanks for all your videos !!! I have a question! I want to paint my house to a Tuscany style ! Interior! What should I do any ideas you can give me on colors?

    • @arteesta952
      @arteesta952  Před 6 lety

      Tuscany is so beautiful! I would do a Venetian plaster on the walls. If you don't want that kind of a commitment you could do a burnished glazing which will offer the same feel. You could go to some nice Italian restaurants and see their interior design to pick up ideas. As far as colors, gold and taupe earth tones are always a good foundation to start with. I wish you the best Fidel!

    Thanks for the video. I do a lot of building, fixing, repairing, painting but have never tried faux painting. I recently purchased a large entertainment center that is missing a central piece. I found an antique credenza that will fit nicely but the color is wrong. I'm going to try your technique. I'll be spraying the base coat, then work with the stains as you did.
    I have a question - in your second step you used a water based glaze with a 50/50 ratio with paint. Would you mind telling me what type of glaze you used? Also did you use the same type paint to mix with the glaze that you used as the base coat? Is the glaze clear and the paint you mixed it with a burnt umber? I think the rest of your video was very clear. I'm looking for a little different look but I think I can achieve it with your technique.
    Wish me luck?

    Please, would you explain what do you mean with 50/50 ratio? and very new regarding painting. I love your work! What kind of paint do you use for the 50/50? Thank you so much! I want to paint an old rocking chair, but the design is so intricate that it will be almost impossible to remove the red enamel paint from it by sanding.
