STREET FOOD at a Castle in Japan🇯🇵! || [Aomori, Japan] Cherry Blossom Festival 🌸
• STREET FOOD at a Castl...
“Okay, foodie ohana, if you don’t know what these are…neither do I!” Best foodie quote ever! Love your work!!!
😂😂 so glad you enjoyed this one! Mahalo! 🤙
Amanda's confidence in Felix..."we should have hired a photographer."🤣
Cherry blossoms are now on my bucket list! You must have heard me, I'm yelling at my screen to dip the crab stick into the crab shell! Felix and I think alike.😂 All that good looking street food, I am drooling!
Hahaha the ultimate crab combo! 👍😂
ALOHA FELIX AND AMANDA BEAUTIFUL CHERRY BLOSSOM TREES I AM ENJOYING YOUR JAPAN TRIP MAHALO 🌺🌺🌸🌸🥥🥥😊
We're so glad you're enjoying the series! Mahalo! 🤙
I love watching you guys eat and no calories for me!
I knew you had to be going up north to see the cherry blossoms because my friends said they bloomed in Tokyo in early April this year. The cherry blossom "front" is starting earlier and earlier each year with climate change. The sakura in Aomori were "mankai" (full-bloom) and absolutely spectacular! I used to live next to Inokashira Park in Tokyo, and when the petals fell, there were waves of light pink showers, and the ponds and paths were covered in blankets of pink petals. The sakura in Aomori look like a different variety from the usual ones in Tokyo (little balls), and maybe they last a little longer. The dark pink ones are special, too. By the way, I traveled to Hokkaidō for the snow festival and came back to Tokyo through Aomori by regular train, and I donʻt recommend it for people from warm places like Hawaiʻi unless you want to really see the Snow Country of Japan or youʻre just going to zip through on the Shinkansen. Dealing with the heavy snow on train platforms, roads, around buildings, etc. (The snow can pile up to the second floor of homes!) is ʻtaihen." I visited the Tōhoku region and Hokkaidō in the summer, too, but it looks like you went in just the right season. Thereʻs nothing like matsuri street food in Japan! Thanks for sharing your wonderful experience!
It was an absolute highlight and magical day on the trip and a beloved memory for sure! We’ve always wondered about the Shinkansen going from Hokkaido to Tohoku 🤔 the thought of going underwater kinda scares me though 😰 lol we would love to one day see the Yuki matsuri in Hokkaido too!
@@AmandaFelixEats When I was there, the tunnel to Hokkaidō hadnʻt been built, so we had to take the ferry. The ride to Kushiro in 2nd class steerage on bare floors (we were poor students) was overnight through rough seas, and almost everyone got seasick. The ferry back to Honshu was OK, but took several hours and a couple of my friends still got seasick. I think the convenience of the Shinkansen is worth it. You definitely should go to the Yuki Matsuri someday, but I hear they also have problems with climate change, and recently there have even been times when it wasnʻt cold enough or enough snow to keep the ice sculptures on display.
OMG Amanda is just gorgeous!!! Thank you for great vids
Beautiful and amazing! Thank you for sharing!
Mahalo Christine! 🤙
Looks like you two are really enjoying yourselves. It's amazing that other Hawaii youtubers I follow are or recently in Japan currently. Not to mention the continental YT'ers that are also currently in Japan, too. Enjoy yourselves and I look forward to seeing more!
Japan is officially the destination of the year! So many of our friends and family are in Japan too✈️🌸
Such a beautiful destinations 🌸
😂😂I had to rewind it several times just to see your face when Felix dropped that Mochi Mochi Fry 😂😂
Did he get scoldings? 😂😂
You know that! Almost lickins too 😂
Thank goodness that Amanda speaks fluent Japanese… Felix does ok..👍🏻 I am glad you are taking us along on your adventures in Japan… I live near DC and go there to see the cherry blossoms.. but, nothing compares to what you are seeing…
Enjoy and be safe 🤙🏼
Wow! Really hit it at peak time! We missed it by a few days. We were there for a short stay on 4/16~4/17 of this year. Unfortunately, we never turned the corner to see that stretch of all those amazing food stalls. Thanks for sharing!
Wow, that was truly magical! I think that's the way to see cherry blossoms -- it didn't seem as if the crowds were as crazy as some I've seen. Making note of that for when I finally go during cherry blossom time back to Japan. And OMG the okonomiyaki with the yakisoba, and all of those other street foods looked AMAZING! 😋
Absolutely stunning cherry blossoms and the food-OMG!!! Love your travel adventures! Thank you for taking us along!
Mahalo for watching Pat! Happy that you enjoyed this one! 🤙
So beautiful all the different Sakura! And the food...omg. I'm dying for some okonomiyaki with plenty sauce and I want some of those huge Sakura mochis. The ones at Minamoto Kitchoan are so tiny in comparison! My mouth watered when you bit into it. Looked so ono! Thanks for an episode filled with food AND beauty! Loving your travel blog 😊
So happy you’re enjoying our travel blogs so far Barbara!🥰 the sakura has a special place in our hearts now💕🌸
I could just lay on the grass and stair up at those beautiful cherry blossoms and beautiful sky allll day!!! 🩷🩷🩷 how peaceful and lovely
It was breath taking! We would've slept there if we could! 🥰

WOW it looks like you guys had a magical day! Wish I could have been there! 😊🤙🏾
You would've loved it here! We didn't want to leave! 😩
The first time I went to Japan it was Golden Week, I was going for work and my Site Manager told me to take a Tuesday and go to Hirosaki Castle for the Cherry Blossoms. It was amazing. Across the street is Tanaka Lacquer where they still lacquer by hand and you can watch in the windows. So much fun. I love seeing it through everyone's eyes.
The area is just so beautiful! 🥰🤙
Beautiful sakura! I'd go anywhere to see sakura. Thank you for sharing.
It's so beautiful!
Sakura scenes are so well done!

Amanda & Felix, Love it! Thats Japan & everything is so awesome. Such a beautiful place & the food looks so ono... Those Mochi Mochi fries would be a big hit in Hawaii. Enjoy your stay & thank you for sharing. You should make this an annual event and bring a foodie ohana tour along. Can't get enough of this series. Big time likes, Foodie Ohana gang...hit the like button! :-0)

It was a magical day! Mahalo Armando! 🥰🤙
Hi from Maui. Kacie's Aunty Nora here. Enjoying your travels and can't wait for more!
Stay tuned! Mahalo for watching! 🤙
So pretty. The Sakura looks darker pink. In Fukuoka in April the Sakura we saw were more pale pink.
There were different types at the castle, we saw some of the lighter ones as well 👍
0:18 Aomori, Japan is the snowiest city in the world.
It gets an average of 312 inches, or 26 feet, of snow per year. The city gets so much snow because parts of the city are at least 5,000 feet up.
Yay 🎉 aloha foodie fam!
Did your sister go too?
Ha never mind it's your friend them. I seen them at the joy Ride movie screening at ward.
Mahalo Louis! 🤙🏻🌸🤙🏻🌸
#1. Happy Aloha Monday!
Mahalo Walt🤙🏻🌸🤙🏻🌸
OMG I'm sooooo jealous. wan be there so bad!!!!!
You should go one day! It's so beautiful! 🥰
Now you have to go to Koyto to see the fall colors in late November.
That'd be a dream!
Love the Japan travel videos so far! I’m curious as to why the mochi mochi fries were so long. Are potatoes bigger there?
We were wondering the same thing!? 🤔
Stunningly beautiful..so happy for you guys, it might sound silly, was there alot of bees? I would love to see the flowers in person, allergic to bees...🌸🐝
There were a normal amount! It didn’t seem like more than any other garden in the spring😜
3:24 i was waiting for ninjas to drop down from the trees.
😂😂 feels very historic vibes🌸
Right after the red bridge at min 17:21, I had a sense of having lived on that riverbank in another lifetime. Very intriguing. I agree Felix, I would camp out there too under the Sakura trees. Thanks for taking us along.
It really feels like you've been transported back in time here!
I didn’t see Amanda try the crab miso in the shell?!?
She tried it off camera 😅
👍🏽🌸🌸
😂 AWSOME-SAKURA😊
So beautiful! 🥰
🥰
❤️🌸🤙
Are you there right now? Very cool 👍
We’re back home already Dennis! 🌸🙌🏼
When we're you there? April?
😊This is so cool. Thanks for sharing Aloha from chadsshow
Mahalo for watching! 🤙
Have a great time there.
13:58 for the life of me I cannot remember what this was called, do y’all remember?
Hi what date was this trip?thanks!
4/28 👍
does the blossoms have fruit after the bloom?
I believe they do.. it looks kinda like cherries but I don't think people eat them 🤔
What are the temperatures like?
It was around 50s to mid 60s!
I vote moving to Japan. Housing is much cheaper then Hawaii lol.
I wish we could live there🌸🤙🏻
Can you add the cost with each dish 😅
When was this filmed?
Earlier this month 👍
@Amanda & Felix Eats Cool. Conversely I can also recommend early sakura or sakura and fall foliage together.
What a great place to visit. You guys are obviously not on a tour, so who speaks & reads Japanese so you can get around on your own?.
Amanda speaks and reads! 🤙
