Thanks for the review. Great job. I got my GW 4 classic 45mm yesterday and still have 47% left after 16.5 hours. And that is with updates and a lot of messing around with it. I am impressed so far. It is rivaling my tic watch pro 3.

Personally, I am not a fan of bezels on my watches (bezels like the one on the classic) . I think they look antiquated, that's just my opinion. I am also used to swipe on the screen instead of a rotating or digital bezel for selecting screens. I own the active 2 and If I buy one of these new watches it will be the one without the rotating bezel. Thank you for the review.
Can't wait for my watch to arrive in 6 days time. They also said that they were working on getting the blood pressure monitoring in a future update for the US. However I'm lucky as they have already approved the blood pressure monitoring in Australia. I'd advise buying from the AU instead of UK as it will be much cheaper for people in the US.
The touch sensitive bezel should be made adjustable to the speed you want. Obviously, people of different age groups would want to use their own speed for scrolling through the options.
Definately impressive stuff. Yes the touch bezel of the GW2 would of been nicer (I use mine all the time) but as you say, everything can be done via the swipe gestures. It's also good that they kept the look of the old Tizen OS but have placed it on top of WearOS as well. Plus the price is on par with the existing GW2. Definately tempted to upgrade from the GW2!

Wow such a useful tip about the Blood pressure monitoring is not yet available in the United States! This explains why when I went to the store to play with it, there was no blood pressure widget at all.. Bummer & hope they add it soon
you are Spot on with all of your comments here - ! Another difference here between the Active 2 and the GW4 - the POWER button on the Active 2 is on the bottom - and on the GW4 its on the top - why they did that , I have no idea !
I like the design of the Active 2 more than the regular Watch 4. Seems like a nice upgrade but I'll wait to upgrade to see how Samsung and Wear OS mature in the next year or two.
You can also buy this watch in US and just change to region to UK using debugger / dev tools ... instead of importing from UK.... There was no samsung pay in India ... so I changed firmware region to US and it started working afterwards.

Hi, first question, Yes it will work with nearly all NON Samsung phones, I tested with OnePlus, Oppo, Realme and Redmi. All connected and all features worked fine, apart from ECG and BP monitor. Everything else worked well. I had trouble connecting with Mi11 Ultra and could not pair with Samsung health. 2. Yes you can connect BT Earbuds and yes you can take the call on watch and talk via earbuds. You can also change audio sources in real-time from the watch without dropping the call. So you can transfer call to watch, earbuds or smartphone. 3. Battery life is 1.5 days typically, with medium to heavy usage. Light use will last much longer. 4). I have a 7 inch wrist (circumference) and the watch is perfect for me, light and good size screen. If wrist is smaller then you may need to consider the smaller model, but battery will be the compromise. Not tested smaller models so don’t know the battery life details.

I ve got a Samsung Watch in 2020 january.I accidently lost it in 2022 february so i decided to buy a new one in june.I think this is more better than my old watch.Im so excited for to come to me in 6 days.I would have a birthday in july 5 so it would be for me an amazing present.The battery doesnt metter for me beacuse i charge it everyday.The most important things are in wathches for me is the look, the feeling in your arm, and the system(fast no lag,...).Thanks for the informations

I also use it for workouts which it has more than 50 workouts that it detects if you go into the app on your phone and add it. I can even listen to music in the shower but who wants to do that 🤣🤣🤣

Does the CZcams app burn battery life quickly ? If u forget to bring the charger, possible to charge the watch using the Samsung phone wireless reverse charging ?
Definitely the battery life is gonna improve in the coming days ans months had same battery drain issue with my S21Ultra but after a few updates I know go I day and some few hours before charging.
@chigz while you are claiming that the hr optical sensor on gw4 is very accurate, please keep in mind the purpose of these fitness watches are to track hr accurately during workout. Resting hr is good on most of the watches So a true test of the accuracy should be done against different workout and gw4 doesn't fare any better than it's competitors, infact it's quite poor
You can turn on LTE only when you're without your phone. Else what's the use if you can just connect your watch to your phone and get more battery life.
When comparing the watch4 to the Active 2 with the rotating through the tiles and that the watch4 is sensitive. Is that simply because the watch4 has 16 tiles to select through when the Active 2 has 11?
Hello Chigz; I came across your videos which I find to be the best which is why I liked, subscribed, and shared them. I don't wear watches because I don't like the feel of watches, but with a new job in the Cardiovascular unit of the hospital, I find that I need to purchase my first smartwatch - primarily for voice reminders for frequent blood transfusion reminders for example. I didn't hear you speak of voice reminders; however, after watching many of your videos, I assume this feature is readily available on all Samsung models(?) Maybe the smaller watch is better because it would be easier to clean/sanitize bodily fluids? What is your recommendation for hospital use, the regular or the classic Samsung device (money is not a determining factor)?

I have an S21 Ultra and the battery easily lasts 20 hours with quite a bit of use. There is a power saving mode that can add another 5 hours by capping CPU speed to 70% and reducing screen brightness by 10%.

Now that samsung is using wear os, I'm worried that they'll drop and end support for their galaxy store for their tizen based watches (I've got both the galaxy watch and active 2).
Would you say this watch is still a good investment for Android users who don't own Samsung phones? This would be my first ever watch, and while I'm aware a few features are incompatible with phones that aren't Samsung, is it worth it getting this watch or should I get another one?
Comparing Galaxy4 classic 46mm LT to Galaxy3 45mm .... new watch has worse battery life (with LTE not active) 2 days instead of 3 days, and original belt loops are too large - they move away and do not keep the belt closed. I had to re-design them and print new ones from TPU. Google Pay works well - and this is the only reason for me to upgrade in fact. I hope the FW updates improve the battery life, but it is a shame that such premium watch has no chances to survive weekend trip without charge. I am still looking for the next version which will include camera - as in the original Galaxy Watch (first generation). Not enough digital faces! those included are for children probably - uninformative, "fancy" without enough content.

The battery though... other brands go upto 2 days, some even a week. For this price, I just hoped samsung wouldn't compromise on battery. If it were too, why couldn't samsung give super fast charging with the watch. One day of battery just doesn't cut it

I have the galaxy watch 4, still learning how to use all the functions. But I do want to see a map of where I have walked, using the steps function and GPS, but cannot find it anywhere. I have been into a Samsung shop, and they said the watch doesn't do that and need to download a separate app. Surely not ? All watches have this
No, though I found that when my phone is connected to any wifi or 4G and my watch4 (bluetooth version) is connected to any wifi, I'm still able to receive messages through a long-distance connection. This way I can, for example, keep my phone at home, go to the gym, connect the watch4 to the gyms wifi, and receive or send messages
I had the active 2. Going to the new gw4 I noticed less battery life. I used to charge my battery every 2 days now.....I'm charging my watch every night. It's annoying
I had my 40 mm this monday. I loved it frome the start, but I am disappointed in samsung again. Had a watch active previously and i have the same issue again. Heart rate sensor stops recording mid-exercise. Does anyone has the same issue? Or know how to solve it? I am loving the watch overall, but I mainly use it for health tracking, so losing the heart rate during exercise is a no-go.😔
Mine does that too, needs a software fix probably. I just keep working out, and the auto detect restarts the workout. If it’s not software, it may be the band letting too much sweat in. I changed to a nylon sport loop band. Hopefully that works.
@@corvetteman0714 I changed the band to a silicone sport band, which I used with other watches without any issues. The band itself didn't solve the problem. I got the tip to update the health services app on the watch. Hopefully it helps.
Does anyone's GW4 battery die fast? I lose 10 percent in just under an hour. Could that be because it is brand new. Its only been my second day using it.
I almost traded my like new Refurbished S3 Frontier for the 44mm 4 from Samsung for $144 But I gotta have that heart rate sensor.. Which may be available by now, Feb. 2022. I just love this Frontier watch. I get 3 days easy out of it but charge it each night after a days use Can't beat it for Amazon Refurbished $100, not a mark on it.

My watch arrived a week and a half ago, delivered by Fedex. Well, the box was delivered, but upon opening it I realized someone in the Fedex chain stole the watch and repackaged the empty watch box. And the driver tossed the box up on the step to boot.
Is it true that dust gets inside the bezel overtime and compromises its functionality? I work on a mine and my hands are always dirty. Would it be a good idea to avoid the classic one for this reason?
I have the Active 2. I am upgrading to use the Active 2 more for sport and the Watch 4 Classic more for dressing up, with the rotating bezel. Watch 4 is faster and it has more health options as well. I'm already very comfortable swimming with my Active 2 without worry. I do it all the time. The Watch 4 classic I would not necessarily jump in the ocean with.
Hi Need some clarification please. Around 15:00, you mention that you can reply to notifications as long as you're connected to a Samsung phone (with an emphasis on Samsung). You then mention that if you connect to any other android phone, you get full functionality minus ECG and Blood O2, which would suggest you CAN reply to notifications from a non-Samsung Android. Then you follow on, after some talk of incompatibility with iOS, again stressing that you can only reply to notifications when paired with a Samsung phone. When talking about replies to notifications and stressing on Samsung, do you actually mean Android? Would stink if you couldn't even reply to messages on a non-Samsung Android.
So you suggest a Samsung phone when buying a Samsung smart watch??? As i can see many functions will not work with other Android phones. That's disappointing. How many features will not work without Samsung phone??? Should i skip this watch cause i don't have Samsung phone.

The heart rate monitor is not approved yet in the United States but that's not a big deal. You can get it on your phone in the app.

Yes CZcams app does drain battery fast and yes reverse wireless charging is defo useful.

I have the watch 4 44mm LTE and I'm.not even getting 18 hours out of it, it's connected to my phone all day. Should I turn off LTE?
I had trash battery life when I had it on but I turned it off when I have my phone on me and on when I don't. It's helped quite a bit

Would you upgrade from a galaxy watch 3 45mm to this ??
The battery though... other brands go upto 2 days, some even a week. For this price, I just hoped samsung wouldn't compromise on battery. If it were too, why couldn't samsung give super fast charging with the watch. One day of battery just doesn't cut it
You can get up to a week easy, just have to turn off the massive health apps.

Because I saw in your video when you turn on battery saver, in description get info "inactive all background activity" - is it that mean or not ? And also is it stop measure heart rate every 10 min ? (I ask you this because I have a problem with my pulse or heart rate).

I have the galaxy watch 4, still learning how to use all the functions. But I do want to see a map of where I have walked, using the steps function and GPS, but cannot find it anywhere. I have been into a Samsung shop, and they said the watch doesn't do that and need to download a separate app. Surely not ? All watches have this
Can the Samsung watch 4 bluetooth version receive and send whatsapp messages when it's connected to wifi but disconnected with your phone?
No, though I found that when my phone is connected to any wifi or 4G and my watch4 (bluetooth version) is connected to any wifi, I'm still able to receive messages through a long-distance connection. This way I can, for example, keep my phone at home, go to the gym, connect the watch4 to the gyms wifi, and receive or send messages

I had the active 2. Going to the new gw4 I noticed less battery life. I used to charge my battery every 2 days now.....I'm charging my watch every night. It's annoying
I had my 40 mm this monday. I loved it frome the start, but I am disappointed in samsung again. Had a watch active previously and i have the same issue again. Heart rate sensor stops recording mid-exercise. Does anyone has the same issue? Or know how to solve it? I am loving the watch overall, but I mainly use it for health tracking, so losing the heart rate during exercise is a no-go.😔
Mine does that too, needs a software fix probably. I just keep working out, and the auto detect restarts the workout. If it’s not software, it may be the band letting too much sweat in. I changed to a nylon sport loop band. Hopefully that works.
@@corvetteman0714 I changed the band to a silicone sport band, which I used with other watches without any issues. The band itself didn't solve the problem. I got the tip to update the health services app on the watch. Hopefully it helps.

My watch arrived a week and a half ago, delivered by Fedex. Well, the box was delivered, but upon opening it I realized someone in the Fedex chain stole the watch and repackaged the empty watch box. And the driver tossed the box up on the step to boot.

You should report that to FedEx that you don't have the product and include pictures.

Android wear, new chip, new gpu, more RAM, more storage, way more features too. Give it a try.
I have the Active 2. I am upgrading to use the Active 2 more for sport and the Watch 4 Classic more for dressing up, with the rotating bezel. Watch 4 is faster and it has more health options as well. I'm already very comfortable swimming with my Active 2 without worry. I do it all the time. The Watch 4 classic I would not necessarily jump in the ocean with.

Need some clarification please.
Around 15:00, you mention that you can reply to notifications as long as you're connected to a Samsung phone (with an emphasis on Samsung). You then mention that if you connect to any other android phone, you get full functionality minus ECG and Blood O2, which would suggest you CAN reply to notifications from a non-Samsung Android. Then you follow on, after some talk of incompatibility with iOS, again stressing that you can only reply to notifications when paired with a Samsung phone.
When talking about replies to notifications and stressing on Samsung, do you actually mean Android? Would stink if you couldn't even reply to messages on a non-Samsung Android.
