I used to play this all the time as a kid, I still firmly believe *to this day* this is one of the best racing games of all time.
You know, besides Mario Kart, I've genuinely never been interested in any form of racing game.
*And yet here I am, watching every review that you do have a racing game, because you somehow make it very enjoyable*

I grew up with this game along with my younger siblings. Just recently picked it up and realized my memory ain't half bad with shortcuts. Others I've just completely forgotten. I've also noticed that it is a bit more difficult than I remember, but maybe that's just me being rusty. Not a great game, but an enjoyable classic.
I loved this game... So it's funny to see what people think of it.

I remember standing in EB Games trying to decide between RC Revenge Pro & Project Eden, thanks for letting me know I made at least one decent choice as a kid.
You might also want check out the generically titled 2003 PC game "RC Cars", according to my nostalgia goggles it was criminally underrated. I'd be curious to know if it was actually as good as I remember.

The style reminds me of twisted metal 4, just in a mario kart style.
Chapter Duology: Meaty Quest (Part Uno)
It was a peaceful day, the Food Kingdom of Chocovalla and its citizens are living in complete peace. The last war was only like a few years ago, as it was put to an end by itself, yet no one has recorded on how it self-imploded. Other than that, it’s your typical fantasy-ish city with cyberpunk elements, so many citizens would call it Dungeon-Cyberpunk, which makes the affably evil monarchy scoff and laugh at the commoners. Despite that, a “BloodHoly” Knight is called in by the King of Chocovalla, King Rasputin (not that one) Remington, to discover of what has happened in the southwest parts of the country (named Burgnai) as they’ve recently vanished from the map. The knight’s name? Spector. That’s it. No surname, only one to run from.
Spector is sent out of the castle with equipment provided by the King himself, to the outside world of the relative unknown. It looks... Very much deceptively colourful. “It looks like that it completely tastes like pure diabetes. Not my problem.” Said Spector with a unsurprised look on his face, considering the fact that he’s been in that food-full city for goddess knows how long. He makes the move the southwest, coming across numerous bandits, infected foods that have become sentient, all that usual good stuff. But then he comes across a few shards on the ground, as it was left by something or someone, it looks like some kind of corrupted energy covering the shard up. “It looks very familiar, but that anomaly was plugged up years ago now.” Spector says before he is cut off by an archer.
The archer fires upon him, thus starting a fight. The two go back and forth, with them slowly damaging each other in the process. The Archer shouts “Truce! Truce for goddess’s sake!” while sounding like it’s tired from the fighting, ouch. “What’s your name? And why did you just cross me, a BloodHoly Knight!” Spector shouts with intimidation. The Archer’s name is unknown, she thought Spector was a demon of corruption (can’t blame her though, considering that he does look like that he doesn’t come from this world). Spector slowly realises that (through the shards and the marks that are on her) something from the past has resurfaced despite its destruction before, and that The Archer comes from the southwest as a survivor.
He asks of what happened over there, only for him to be revealed that a so-called “Tensei-Anomaly” has been reactivated by a crew of scientists (god damnit you fools) as they were looking to see if remnants of a now-destroyed ancient piece of tech has survived an event decades prior. “Then the demons have also been summoned.” Spector says in slight shock and disbelief, forcing him to sprint towards the Anomaly, hoping that it’s not eating world as he knows it. “I thought that Woodlock had lead that group successfully, but what about that one who saved us all?” Spector says in his thoughts, unknowing that The Archer is following him to the growing energy Anomaly.
Will I finish this? Probably not, Maybe. But there, at least it’s a request that’s started.
Also, buy Clare a fucking castle. Be a good man. (Yes, I’m joking...)

6/10 for effort 🤔 you didn't review the maps other than "bumps", majority of the time looked like you played the wonky silver car, no mention of soundtracks, no mention of vehicle-unique special attacks, etc. I feel like it was more of a single player game to enjoy alone with the bots while enjoying the art, music, etc. For the time period it was out, it was a nice game 😐 Some maps split into land vs water, a lot of items were nice, etc. A lot of games even to this day give bots special advantages. The bots would have the ability to teleport super far on some maps when they fell into water or goo, on rare occasions one would teleport across the map and be first in place. There were two or more maps where I was able to replicate a similar glitch, but never to the extent of jumping ahead half the map 😮

I had rc revenge for the ps1, but played it on the ps2 and because of that the game wouldn’t save after you stopped playing. The 6 year old me did 8 hour long plays when there was a proper ps2 version the whole time 😂

Dude, Mario Kart is a baby's game. It helps little kids who suck, win when they shouldn't. It should never be the gold standard for the racing genre. This game is better for being more nuanced and challenging than that. Git gud, and stop your complainin'.
