- PRODUCT OVERVIEW of my GARAGE MAKEOVER custom detail air compressor installation overview and review. I will modify my air compressor to include a Coxreels EZ coil reel and an amazon hose reel. I kit both of them out with Prevost hoses and Prevost quick disconnects. I do a complete copper air pipe installation with a Prevost air regulator as well. I compare Coxreels EZcoil to the less expensive amazon reel. I provide tips and tricks to help you navigate the complicated world of installing your air compressor. I am really happy with this air compressor upgrade. My custom detailing garage is finally coming together. If you have any questions about this please feel free to leave a comment. For detailing cars with a rigid 4.5 gal what setup would you use it will be in back of my Silverado and needs to be removable. I can make a stand or platform if needed

Your F’n awesome, your garage is super clean super well setup , and just looks badass ( watched a recent video prior to the two later ones ) your like a badass super handy cool uncle most of us wished we had🤣🤣 . Awesome set-up. Do you have to turn off compressor when not in use or do you have to bleed air when not in use?
I turn it off and bleed it down to get rid of moisture in the tank. It’s fast and easy. Thanks for watching

The National Electrical Code actually requires you to install electrical equipment with future plans in mind. Being prepared for expansions, upgrades etc. Of course no one follows the rules and it ends up costing much more later when they have to rip everything out and start over.

Thanks for watching. It’s a homemade storage area that I built 10+ years ago. Just 2x4’s and filled the space I had to work with. I had a lot of stuff I needed out of the way for my area to be clear. I can look at it soon when I do a garage tour.
Big fan of your channel. I have the Cox Reels ez coil in the size of the Amazon that you have. They are designed for 1/4 hoses, 35ft in length. I am currently running a cheaper 1/4 hose 50 ft Amazon find in the same blue color of the reel, also with Prevost high flow green fittings, and I’m very happy with the performance. I’m so happy that didn’t feel the need to upgrade to the Stoflex that you and Obsessed Garage recommend. It doesn’t retract all the way, but the excess is about right. I see that you installed the same 3/8 Stoflex in the Amazon reel and the length seems right for the size. Can you share the length of the hose of the Amazon reel is, in case I feel the urge to upgrade to the Prevost Stoflex one day? Keep doing what you are doing and will keep watching, so long as my wallet keeps up with your projects.
Thanks a lot. I have roughly 30' of hose in the amazon reel. I pulled the end out of the side whole on the reel and did a length test by reeling it in. I adjusted the length until I was happy than cut it. After that I added my own fitting on the reel side. Its a scary fast recoil on the amazon reel. I had that thing for 10+ years and never realized how crazy it was until I got the EZ coil. Thanks for watching.

No it’s a wood shelf.
For the coupling - did you go with PREVOST ESI071201S or PREVOST ESI071201? There are two models for the S1, one ends with an S... can't tell the difference though.

In process of getting air hose reel in my garage. Is the Cox reel the way to go? Or can I go the Amazon route and be satisfied. Not sure what you think. Appreciate all the work and advice you give! Thank you!
The cox is way better but it all depends on your budget and what you will be happy with. I had the Amazon for years and it was fine. After I got the fox I realized how much better it is. Especially the ez coil. Thanks for watching
@@HawaiiDetailing thank you…going to go with the Cox. Going to order the ez coil one that comes with the 50’ hose on it in the 3/8” size. Going to install it between my two garage doors but need to know how to connect to the side of the cox hose reel. Only have about 9” between the doors which means I need a 90 degree fitting to the Cox reel so I can come up from the bottom instead of the side connection. Can you recommend me a fitting? You helped me with my pressure washer set up with 90 degree fittings and were great! Also, what kind if blow gun size hooks to the hose? Prevost 1/4” or 3/8” blow out gun….what size fits that included hose that’s on the Cox….thank you!

I put 1/2. For long runs with multiple drops go 3/4.
When the CoxReels hose is so safe, why do you need to mount another hose reel a few feet away?

3:57 Next time, turn the first 90 deg. copper bend into a tee with a shutoff you can drain the condensed water out of the pipe.
