Little Big Band - Grade 3
Josef Zawinul and Weather Report turned the jazz world on its ear with this iconic fusion composition from the 1977 album “Heavy Weather.” Arranged here for 6 horns and rhythm section, this version retains all the drive and uplifting energy of the original.

I love this song a previous jazz band at my school played it before

These are great, I mean when do you ever get to play along with arrangements like these? Excellent !!
Besides hooked on a feeling this is our best song for 5/6 jazz band
I play this song in my jazz band at school. Like this comment if you like this song
This would have been much better if the trombone had its origionals part in the beginning.
Yeah
Yes
i agree
I Play the beginning with the trombone and it Sounds mutch bether
In the actual recordings it has bass with effects on it I think it would be better if the effects were on
I'm playing this in Jazz Band and it sounds so good!
I wished you sold this in an album. I would totally buy it. Your version is so much better then other recordings I've heard of this song.
LOVE this song. I just played a different arrangement of this at the end of the year. (Tenor Sax)
My man
Put the speed on 1.25 and it sounds great!
glissy yes
glissy cut time
Why ruin the song
Yeah boi
This is almost as fast as what my band teacher wants us to play it😅😅
wonderful
Would like to go hear this in person.

Joyeuses fêtes Noëlles...
🎅💓💕💕
Swinging with a good sound.
If you set the speed to 2, the beginning kinda sounds like Mario Kart
Practical Morons 😂 omfg it does
WTF😂😂😂
I don't think it does.
Ha it does
this needs to be as high as Maynard's version.
This is grade 3 meant for high school bands. So no maynard, but a great arrangement.
each trumpet part would take up the parts above it
ThatOneRubiksDude lol if my band director brung this for the show ima bring it up
Says a tuba.
No.
i have 3 different arrangments of this song in my playlist because they are all good
Austin Martín Hernández so does your playing 😉
1:40 best part
Man gotta love weather report, but would've liked this arrangement better if it had the original bass part (even though artificial harmonics would be hard to right in the score)
EmersonTheDude We are playing this now and I just sat here all day learning artificial harmonics. Hopefully I can play them in our arrangment.
My bd wants the alto solo part to play the C hold as an 8va, so whenever i practice I basically annoy my entire house, but i have hearing protection so we good
Oh Yeah Yeah
mind doing 25 or 6 to 4 as one of you're next songs
LOVE 25 or 6 to 4!
I did that in jazz band last year for a concert and the drum set player dropped his stick and we all fell apart
Playing bass for this
I can barely hear the bass :( it’s hard to hear the parts I need to learn
Try headphones
Playing this trombone 3
I am playing alto sax
@@laesonated im playing soprano sax
@@jackvanepps7301 cool so do I
@@laesonated nice
I’m on bass bone
Why isn't trombone playing the same as bari
1965LizzyMiss Ikr
What I have the Trumbone 4 is basically the bari part and trumbone 4 is being played by a baritone.
Because the bari has a more rich sound.
Because this is an arrangement for smaller ensembles. Trombone doesn't always (and shouldn't always) Double the bari, even if they have 4 trombones.
I’m on bass Tbone on this song. And it’s pretty great. I play the low licks at the beginning too
Tiger San Pedro?
Luke Ryan Davis, I like this song

What? No screaming?

Hello Joe
sound and feel really sucks in this computer generated version, but it's enough to give a student an idea how it sounds. Still I wouldn't recommend trying to play exactly like this. it has no feel or swing. phrasing is everything in jazz and this example does nothing to teach that. so use with caution. (for reference, I'm a lead tpt player and have played this song many times with different groups).
the saxophones in this are definitely not computer generated
This isn't computer generated lol
piano: keyboard with synth bass voice
