I come to you live on CZcams every Wednesday, noon ET so join me for lunch.
You take a break and I will create!
Thank you for clear instructions for making different shapes.
Yes, I prefer your method because it saves paper and the card won’t be as bulky, especially if you plan on mailing it. Thank you for sharing your wisdom and creativity!
Much better way of making this “faux shutter” card!
Mentioning about saving paper and steps, I can save you a tad more paper and step, I discovered I only needed 3 strips as when you cut off the longest strip, it fits on one of the short edges of the square.
You are right! Thanks for the tip
Your way is easier and clean with stitching. Love it
Thank you! 😊 And thanks for watching!
Yeah !!!!
I make mine just like yours 💕💕💕💕
Love this card! And yes, you made it much easier! yea!
Thank you!
Very cool... Love doing these cards
Me too! They are addicting
Very easy and clear instructions. Definitely will use your instructions.
I think I just saw the video you refer to and I had the same thought: there are a few each unnecessary steps. I have since seen others who I think really made it much easier. Thank you for actually saying so. Take care!
And THIS is how it's done now and forever after!! Thanks for the breakthrough!!
You are so welcome! I knew there had to be an easier way!
I started watching your video and thought how complicated the first method was and how it could be done in a much simpler way using less card, then you did it the exact way I would have done 😊
You go, girl. You are absolutely correct- your way blows all the others out of the water!
Thanks so much!
Great technique! Much easier and I like the stitch lines all the way around. I could see using the other method if you want a card base that is not black. You could make a template for easily placing the square on the front. Especially if making a few cards. Thanks so much.
Love the cards. Yours is absolutely quicker and easier and I prefer the symmetrical look of the die cut too..
thank you for sharing your version.
Thank you for watching!
Love that you have simplified it! Thanks for the tutorial!
Thanks for watching! 😊
Yes definitely simpler. Thanks! 😍 Love it.
You are so welcome!
Love this way to do the faux shutter card! Thank you so much for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
This way is so much simpler and I do like being able to see all the stitching on the square! Well done!❤
Thank you my dear and thanks for watching!
Love, love, love the way you came up with, so much easier and quicker!! Thanks.
Thanks for watching!
And I appreciate that you showed us both the harder way and the easy way!
Thanks for watching.
Loving this card. Thanks so much for the short cut also thanks for all of your creativity that you share.
Thank you for watching Susan. I love to share and teach! :)

whohooo thank you for the easy instructions!!!!
Love YOUR WAY BEST! Thank you for sharing your creativity with me!🥰
Thank you for watching!
Your way is definitely better. Thanks!!
Thanks for watching
I like your way! And this is the first video I have watched of yours so I’m hooked!
Yeah! I'm glad you are hooked and I hope you subscribed to my chennel. I am live every Wednesday at Noon ET so I hope to see you there. Happy Stamping!
Colleen, Thank you for sharing your take on the faux shutter card. I too was thinking that there had to be an easier way to make this card. And like you, I wanted to see all the 'stitching' around the square. I played around to come up with an easier way, plus using less paper! My first one was a mistake - - - but you know what that means! Just an opportunity to create differently. The second one I did a better job on, but I was still looking at using less paper. I started searching for more videos and ran across yours - BINGO!!!! It's the perfect solution. I made one right along with you (and I even had the same stamp set sitting on my desk from a previous card I had made). Thank you so much - so glad I ran across your video. I'm looking forward to watching more of what you create!
Thank you for your encouraging words Sharon! Experience is a great teacher and I'm glad you like my video. I hope you subscribed and will come again!
Wow! Well done! Thanks for sharing.xo
Big improvement on this technique! Thank you for sharing it with us.
Thank you for watching
Great short cut for this design. Thank you for sharing
My pleasure. Thanks for watchng!
Love your way so much better. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching

Thanks for watching!
Perfect simple technique for making a faux shutter card. TFS!
You are so welcome!
Much better ❤❤❤❤❤ thank you for sharing
Thanks for watching!
My way of thinking Colleen. My card group next Wednesday will enjoy this. Thanks Di Australia.
Thanks for watching and have fun!
Much faster and easier. Amd even can do it if you don't have those square dies. Thanks!
Colleen you know you beat me to it in showing the easier way of creating this "Faux Shutter" Card. Mine will show not using Dies and focusing on the Paper Trimmer because every card maker needs this tool. Thank you! Love it! ❤️
Thanks my dear!
Terrific 🎉
I love how you simplified this technique and actually improved the end product! I am going to try to incorporate this design into my Christmas Card design. Thank you!
Thanks for watching. I hope you subscribed!
@@creatingwithcolleenmagness5835 Yes, I did! I love how you explain everything so clearly. Thank you!
much easier. if I had just gone by the card my friend sent me as a template that is exactly how I would have done it
I like your way of making this card. Much easier.
Easy is best! :)
Love your way; makes good sense! More organic embellishment works best for this card.
I like your way. Now I will try this!!
Great! Have fun creating Mary!
Nicely done!
Thanks!
Absolutely the second easy way👏👏
Absolutely much easier!, 💕 it!
Sometimes I do work smarter than harder. I'm glad I captured it on video! LOL
I had seen the first way to make this card, it was planning on doing it. But never got around to it and then I just saw doing it similar to your way which is so much easier. And made Ten Christmas cards yesterday. Thank you for sharing this easier way.
I don't always work smarter than harder but I lucked out on this one! :) Thanks for watching.
Love this card. Thought it was a lot more work their way. I liked your way much better. Thank you for figuring it out.
I was a drafter prior to becoming a SU demonstrator 21 years ago. I love figuring things like this out.
Wow! Your way sure looks easier!
It really was Mary. Have fun stamping
Great tutorial, thank you🥰
Thanks for watching
First timer for your videos, watching replay from Chesterfield VA. Very simple approach for what looks complicated, thank you!
Thank you for watching. I hope you will subscribe and come again!
Genius! ... so much easier and I like the continuous stitching on the center square... the incomplete stitching would bothered me also. Thanks Colleen 😊
Great minds think alike! :) Thanks for watching
Your way is a better way for sure! I’ll be making your version.
Thanks Karen and thanks for watching
Hi from Colorado. Watching on replay for my first time. What pretty card. Your idea is easier. I have that Stamp Set and just used it in another way in Stamp With Joy class
Hello! Colorado is on my bucket list as it's so beautiful there! Glad you have an additional idea for this beautiful stamp set!
Yes it is simpler & it looks great.
Thanks Jackie!
Love your way much Better and easier
Thank you! 😊
First time watching you. I live in RI but my sister lives in Moyock, NC.
I love Moyock and am only about 30 minutes from there. Thanks for watching and I hope you will subscribe and watc h again. Happy Stamping!
I just made that card in your directions, totally easy.
Thanks for watching Betty!
Karen Titus did this on her channel. She rotated her main image and used other polygon die cuts to create a fractured glass effect. Cool flower blending. Thanks for sharing!😉
Thanks for watching!
Love the simplest way …. Yours.
I’m alway in favor of using less card stock! I also like the way the center square is outlines by the stitching!
I much prefer your method! Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
Darling card it’s one of my favorite stamps as well!
Thank you
Awesome…you did this card the same way I did! Also, when I use Wink of Stella I always add several coats as it makes it much more shimmery. And, your video just came up in my feed for the first time today. I checked out some of your videos and liked what I saw…new subbie here!!!🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸
Thank you so much! I love teaching and appreciate you subscribing to my channel!
Thank you, much easier.
Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Love your way!! Thank you. 8-)
You are so welcome! Thanks for watching!
Definately like your better and SO much simpler. TFS Kathy from Sydney Australia where it is 35 degrees today .. FEW HOT
Thanks for watching Kathy all the way from Australia! That is a bit chilly and would be winter for us! Right now it's fall and oh so beautiful. Every window in the house is open! :)
Thank you!!
Thanks for watching!
I agree!
I think your hair is beautiful!
Thank you Mary. You are too kind! :)
Hello, sorry I missed your live🦋🦋
Great thing is you can always watch it at your convenience.
Thank you for posting an easier version… AHA- using the strips. This is really helpful! 😅
So glad you like it!
I never could figure out why they cut squares out on two papers either, and I made mine your way. I also made different shapes that had straight edges. Like the countryside inn dies for example. You just have to cut the tops at an angle to fit the corners. I like your way much better.
And I love your idea with the different shapes. Thanks for inspiring me!
Hi 😊
Just watching your tutorial 15 May 2024 and I'm loving the one horse open sleigh card. I was wondering if you have a tutorial of this card or something similar as would love to make this card. I'm from the UK xxxx
Hello friend. I'm so glad you like my cards. I do not have a tutorial but the video will walk you through every step of the way in making this card including measurements. It's way better than a tutorial. Just pause the video when needed and create with me. Happy Stamping!
Where did you find the wall shelves that hold your inks?
I found the shelves years ago at an office supply store like Office Depot. They were made to hold office supplies like boxes of paper clips etc but worked for the ink pads. They are made of acrylic.
#replay!! Love your easy way!!
Also what are the white stickers on your stampin blends?
The stickers have my name on them since I stamp with groups of friends and they could easily get mixed up with their products. Always a good idea to have your name on things so they can be easily returned if left behind. :)
At technique. First one I made was a throw away cause I thought I knew how and what they were doing. NOT DO MUCH. Like your way!
Glad you like it! It was an Aha moment for me but sometimes easiest is best!
How does the stitching get on the narrow strips?
The stitching is on the Pool Party Square only (that is positioned as a diamond on the card front). The strips are just basic black.
Hello 👋🏻
I watched several videos on this too. I modified it to make it more simple too; I didn’t like the stitching either.
I was a drafter in my previous job (decades ago) and just knew there had to be a more simple way to get the same look. Thanks for watching.
2 way.
I 'm watching the replay and I like the second card BUT for me is there nothing wrong on the first
🥰
You are right, there is nothing wrong with the first way, I just found my way to be much easier with the same look. I learned how to make this card from watching the first way, I just simplified it. :)
Much easier... I think the full sheet of pool party would look good embossed !!!!
Ohhhh, now you're talking! I will try that and thanks for teaching me! :)
I like the 2nd way better.
I agree! Thanks for watching!

Bulk & weight reduction is GREAT! for📬 cards or us!🤣😂😅😭🤣TFS!👏👏👏🥰🦘🦘🦘
You are absolutely right Linda! I wish that bulk reduction was as quick and easy for us as it is for a card!
