Like Richardson, Levis' success really depends on where he goes. He's got elite arm strength and good mobility. However, he's got a lot of work to do fundamentally. If he sits for some time and can fix his bad habits, then he can be a great QB.

    • @brooksorlando4881

I agree. Something that isn't talked about enough though is his age. 24 is young for a QB, but he should be further along at this pt. They get on Hooker and Bennett for being older prospects, but they only have Levis by a yr. Traits are there though. I view him similar to Cutler.. but with a firey personality. Disappointment for their talent level, but still decent starters overall.

Justin Herbert has a ton more of the intangibles that Will Levis doesn't have, like the ability to read defenses real well, and has much better decision making when scrambling out of the pocket. Will Levis has a lot of issues in his mental game that Justin Herbert didn't have. So there's pretty notable differences between the two.
The better comparison is the pre-developed Josh Allen. Booming arm, but was a bit all over the place.

from the film clips you show, Levis can complete passes to receivers who are covered. as was also mentioned, Levis didn't have as many talented players around him like other QBs, Alabama and Ohio State. too many times when watching film clips of other star qbs, the clip shows the so called star qb completing a pass to a wide open ( no defender around for 5 yards ) receiver. imo, now this is after the draft, Indy may have gotten duped, getting caught up in the Levis negative talk /look, and the best thing is Levis going to Tennessee. btw at the combine wasn't Richardson showing off his gymnast skills, guess thats a go to for him if the QB job at Indy doesn't work out ... 😀

I am glad to hear this mostly positive review and so many positive comments about Levis. I admit, I don't get it. From all I have read and seen, he seems like a very good guy. Good morals, tireless worker, team leader, tough, smart, coachable. So did the media get a memo that they need to attack him at every change but also praise Anthony Richardson for the very same things they knock Levis for?? For me, these guys are in the same level at all. Richardson is a very unrefined runner has barely got over 50% of this passes and started one year. Levis has started two years in a pro style offense. So I think it is ridiculous to put Richardson that high. In fact, I think Richardson won't go nearly as high and pundits think because his tape doesn't match his physical attributes. I expect Levis will go to the Colts and be the best QB in this draft.

You were "Spot-ON" in making this video 2 weeks ahead of the draft that saw Levis drop completely out of the first round to the Titans @ #33. He may be OK there as they only have Tannehill who's aging and Malik Willis who dropped in the draft last year, himself.
One thing you didn't address is WHY you think he's the most hated. All I heard is that he's not a great leader. Nothing about why he's hated like other hated qbs like Cutler, Baker, Bert Jones for us Old School'ers and sometimes now Rogers.

His best fit is LA Rams trading back up into the first round (maybe to #22 with Baltimore) and redshirting him for a year. An even better and more realistic comp for Levis is Matt Stafford in terms of arm talent and competitiveness. Liam Coen worked for Sean McVay so I think this would be the ideal situation for him.

I don't think Levis is bad at all. I think he's just very raw still. Not as raw as Anthony Richardson but he still needs a lot of coaching to help him out. He has all the tools but he needs to really work on his progressions and his ability to sense pressure. I think he has a higher floor than Richardson but AR has by far the highest potential of any QB we've seen in recent years.

I think Levis and Richardson will both be spectacular busts. Just my opinion. I also think CJ Stroud will not make it either. Bryce Young if he can stay healthy and avoid getting killed by much bigger much stronger men should be fine. Also the UCLA QB is a better prospect than Levis and Richardson. Thompson is his name. He is good. Hooker is good too but he won’t make it either.

Much like Allen, Levis is going to need a Dabol to unlock his true potential and weed out the bad habits. There are a few of those guys in the league these days (excluding Dabol since they just resigned Jones to that contract). Reich and Steichen are 2 obvious ones AND both of their teams are obviously in the QB market, but will Levis be gone by the time they're up, or will they go with one of the more popular picks? Shanahan could use the help at QB if he were to fall out of the 1st round, or if they were to trade back up. And McVay could also use the help/backup scenario for Stafford. Both of those guys are less QB savants and more offensive savants, but where they would maybe fail while Dabol and Steichen could succeed, they could also develop schemes around his positive attributes.
With guys like this, you either end up Allen or you end up Wilson unfortunately, depending on the team they go to. Very few of them end up as Fitzmagics in the middle.

@@thomasadams9395 no he didn't at all he finished only 3 TD's from leading the league while playing several fewer games & played thru majority of the year with a torn UCL in his throwing arm. His team also was 32nd dead last in the league with the most drops & also 32nd in the league in yards after the catch, & his Oline was bottom 5 in the league. All things considering he was outstanding playing thru that injury. I'm happy with my own QB Burrow who aside from Mahomes are the only Id take over Allen. I'm just hoping Allen doesn't get healthy if the Bills ever figure out to give him a running game & anyone else who can catch aside from Diggs cuz they shut things down knowing he's all they got.
