    I'm a brass player. We are indeed used sparingly, but when you need cataclysm, glory, or climax (or all 3 at once) you can rest assured we will still be there and ready to raise the roof after 3 movements of tacit

    I saw your video on the best 30 seconds of classical music. Wow! I had no idea what Mozart was doing. Your channel is now my favorite. I wish I could study an orchestral score with you.

    Why isn't a piano included in the orchestra?

      @steveeliscu1254 Před rokem +1

      Often has been. Depends on the composer, the piece, the era. Just not a standard inclusion.

    You must be a string player! Your explanation of the role of the woodwinds was, shall we say, short of the mark. The woodwind principals are the stars of the orchestra--the strikers, the quarterbacks, whatever analogy you like.

      I'm not, but are you a woodwind player by any chance??

      I can agree! As a flutist my favorite moment in ochretra was while playing Tchaikovskys Capriccio Italien (op. 45) where the a flute and oboe duet basically start the big hit. playing that brought so much joy to my heart.

      I heavily disagree, the woodwinds for sure play the supporting role, with a much weaker sound than the strings.

      @@RobinHillyard My favorite woodwind, just because of the name. Bassoon. BAAAAA. SOOOOOOOOOOOOON! :D :D :D Tho they're comparatively rare, I love pieces that feature solo bassoon passages.
