Akshat Jain (All India Rank-2) in the 2018 UPSC examination explains his Answer Writing strategy for GS Mains. He bagged the second position in the prestigious exam in his second attempt. Akshat Jain graduated from IIT-Guwahati with a degree in design. His first attempt was in the year 2017 hardly a month post his graduation.
Akshat Jain was motivated by his own parents who are currently serving as a civil servant.

My English teacher gave us an idea to frame answers for 10TH board exams and I liked it very much.. It was similar to what Akshat Sir told. I used to draw another vertical line in the margin area to write my subpoints ,double underline the subheadings and underline the important words...and made sure my first answer is in good handwriting. This method which j adopted in 10th got improved along with time and I followed it upto my graduation which gave me decent marks and me a topper ... At school or college level exams it doesn't matter much ,how you write you will get marks ... BUT This is UPSC ..! ONE mark can get you DOWN....
So please please work hard on your answer writing...
Those like me who've already incorporated this way of answer writing will surely get benefits in near future...
A Request to all those Future aspirants those early birds at school/college can really adopt this method and see wonders in their exams... Please try it out once I bet you will see positive results!
