  • Back on the 1969 Chey C10 and what do you know, Pops finds yet another shabby repair. This time it's from the previous shops attempt to fill in the Fuel Fill on the Drivers B Post.
With the 1969 Chevy C10, the fuel tank was originally located behind the bench seat in the cab. A popular upgrade, and just a smart thing to do, is to remove the fuel tank from the cab and replace it with one under the bed of the truck.
When doing this, you're left with a hole in the cab where the fuel Fill was located so you need to decide what to do with this. Some people will just leave the filler in place and move one. For a cleaner look, some will remove the filler and fill in the hole with a patch that needs to be custom made.
Because this area of the cab has curves going in multiple directions, the filler panel needs to be shaped to make it look like it was that was from the factory. This is where the problem with this truck come is.
The previous who did this for our customer originally, didn't want to take the time to do it right so they just welded in a flat piece of metal and used plastic filler to try and shape it correctly. This is NOT how you do this.
Pops cuts out the horrible patch and sows us how to do it right.
