This Bike was so comfortable I nearly dropped my R7 | Triumph Speed 400

  • So I got to try out the new Triumph Speed 400, one of the newest Learner Approved Motorcycles (LAMs) to hit the market. New rider's always ask me what bike I would recommend, and I say it always depends on what you like, however bikes that are lighter and easier to manoeuvre, make practicing skills less daunting - and the more you practice something the better you'll get at it. BUT new rider's are also super concerned with the U-turn and cone weave test, so I put these two bikes together to highlight how comfortable are forgiving and comfortable the Triumph is. Oh and comfortable - did I mention comfortable? Even though I failed on the R7, it doesn't mean the bike is bad, it just showcases that slow skills may be a little more challenging in comparison. If you've tried this bike I'd love to hear what you think!
Thanks @BikebizAustralia for letting me try out this bike, I actually had a lot of fun! We had a little chat about this bike on their channel: • TRIUMPH SPEED 400 I Th...

Ah guys, it seems I might need to improve how I explain my videos. The purpose of this vid is to really to showcase to new riders how different bikes can feel really different when it comes to handling. Some are built to be easier to maneuver slow skills than others. I didn’t practice these drills prior to keep it as raw as possible. (I’d rather keep it real and honest with you than upload a “perfect” video) The other point I wanted to highlight is how much of a role confidence and mindset plays too.
I’m not a qualified coach so I won’t be teaching you how to do these drills, but with practice anyone can do them. (Don’t worry I can too, I just didn’t want to stay cooking in the heat 😂). Ride safe everyone ❤

I was the same way with my 600, my u-turns were rough, and (I'll confess) I avoided slow speed practice haha. The bike has been gone for about a year now.
After test riding an MT07 recently, it boosted my confidence and slow speed riding was easier...plus the bike was just so comfortable and had fun power delivery. Hoping to get one in the coming weeks!🤞🏻 Thanks for sharing!

WOOHOO! yeah sometimes it’s just about reducing the variables that worry you and that might be on a different bike. I LOVE doing slow speed stuff on my WR250 when I get the chance to. I’m glad finding a different bike has instilled more confidence in you!

You've just won another subscriber! There is nothing more that I appreciate than honesty and endeavour, and you have both in spades. All the best going forward.

I took the MOST test at the DMV here in the states on my now, track 2003 GSXR600. What helped me on the cone weave was looking straight ahead and not looking down, and then on the u-turn, using my body to counter balance and look where I wanted to go, which was basically, directly behind me.

Shows that the ways bikes are built can really change how it feels to do certain drills!

I test drove it and général feeling was much better than expected. Almost same feeling of driving an xsr 125 but that time with enough power. Great real exhaust sounds too just right .

I’d say it’s a successful video - two very different types bikes, I’m sure you’ll work on the low speed stuff on your bike and send a snippet of you flowing through the course. I’m seriously considering the 400, it’ll be an upgrade from my GW250 and my first week will be super low speed drills (mostly 🤔). Thanks for sharing!

I can do the drills, but as I said I haven’t ridden this bike in a while and wanted to keep the video as raw as possible :). Thanks tho!

Wow. You really need to practice. You probably shouldn’t be on public roads with traffic until you learn to maneuver your bike much better.

? Read the pinned comment before telling me what to do lol. It’s clear you didn’t hear that I said I intentionally didn’t practice this (multiple times) to highlight the difference 👍
