This album is high shelf. It is real. It is TRUE Roots Culture. WOW all the things that validate the musical Genre that is reggae is present Here. On This Album. Reflecting the power struggle which is resulting from a generalised paradigm of power itself. It exists where, and when ever ANY kind of system forms in the human condition which require the the assertion of "power" in order to control or gain control over an aspect of the human condition, local or general. Therefore it goes without further saying that the ugly situations which arise from this unenlightened, self defeating, death enhancing BULLSHIT, BumboKlaat, Babylon system, is NOT isolated nor unique to Jamaica nor third world nations and cultures. HOWEVER.. Each place reflects the hardships and suffering as well as the triumphs, and grounding perspective on life, it's value, and the power of Love & human Spirit which can lead to salvation and sometimes BALANCE. ...It just s happens that in Jamaica, the suffrah, culture and Rastafari is very humanist - emphasising the concept of working together WITH their JAH, instead of working, to supplicate and maintain an absurd relationship FOR some invisible , alienised "god" disconnected from daily reality and the natural world -KEY!!- as is the case in most "Developed" countries. This is why many "developed" areas are filled with horrific mental illness, moral decadence, and an emptiness of spirit which in it totality is creating a creeping subterranean "horror" which cannot even be described by even those who are empowered t SEE it. America is an advanced course in Psycho Horror, a theatre of hate, fear, stupidity and most EVERYTHING that is bad and wrong and Ugly about humanity, and it is actually worse than that. FAR FAR worse. That Also reflects in the culture. Which highly features masking and concealing the unspeakable stench that is OBVIOUS to almost All except Americans - First clue..Calling themselves the "United States" as a people on the whole they are ANYTHING but "united:" Who are They fooling? A well seasoned and quite wise Rastaman once said something to me over 35 years ago, which I still reflect on, in my own way. He said: "... Things are going to get really rough and even more tough - you think the world is bad and full of confusion, injustice, poison, and wickedness NOW? Mon you have NO idea, just HOW bad how crazy it gonna get before it will get much better. Jah speaks to use with the Language of his Creations. Remember that. Because Nobody is doing much listening to THAT BIG language, but a lot of people are Speaking TO Jah and by destroying and turning they back on the Natural world which IS JAH!! they are sending him a message that will only cause our "Severance" from Jah Community and life blood. We will die in fear and emptiness that cannot be in imagination..." After saying al this to me, I was about 15 at the time, he around 55, He laughed heartily and light up a spliff of Ganja that to me looked the size of a Boeing 747 and if I smoked any of it it would be like huffing the exhaust pipe of a 747. After taking in enough of his stuff to turn planet Earth into Planet Monkeyface...He said to me: The way I see things...For me I have 3 choices, on how to deal with the world and ANYTHING it deals out. #1. You can choose to be obedient and part of the very thing that is killing all creation. You can choose to join Babylon and what ever ways it has for you, to do that... but deep down you will know, you have sold your soul and you will NOT be your own. Or you can live around it in fear by fighting it Become an outlaw, make your own laws and follow nothing. You will care only for yourself and what YOU want. just take as much as you can from this world before you perish, and then...You WILL finally perish...but that had happened long ago...and That too is ALSO a choice coming from fear. #2 You could Die. That could happen ANY time you slip. OR #3 You can Choose Rastafari. Death will choose You some time...So no need to worry SO You have really 2 choices. You can choose submission...Fear OR You can choose Rastafari. ..I choose Rasta. ..." He then got up and walked off. I never saw him again. But I think he may be correct about the status of the world...if nothing else.
