And I believe hundreds and hundreds if not thousands of immigrants from other countries as well, continuously serve in the American military who are also bilingual in most cases. But in this case, this so called American builder in particular is different. He resides somewhere in Vietnam, and his appearance is very much like a Vietnamese. My point is, lying to our face undeterred is laughable, simply because it's plain to see that it's not true. I mean you just don't insult the intelligence of a common man like me and others, as if it was convincing to tell that this guy is really an American builder. The issue here is the true nationality of the guy. He may have been a legal immigrant to U.S.A. thereby he has dual citizenship, but still he remains and deserves to be called a Vietnamese, or at least, Vietnamese - American to be fair enough. I have to admit and I cannot lie, this ''not so big deal lie'' cracks me up, it really made me laugh. Now, having said all that. I've got to say that this Vietnamese mason is really creative, and a very good worker indeed. Kudos to him.

Es un artesano y tiene un don y conocimiento que pocos tienen , ya casi nadie quiere ni sabe hacer este hermoso trabajo , pero como muchos comentaron , es un acabado que hoy , con los nuevos materialed y tecnicas , se puede lograr un acabado igual y mucho mas liviano y economico, yo hace cincuenta años soy tornero de madera, pero ya hace mucho , las nuevas maquinas , materiales, y tecnicas , han etinguido mi oficio, pero lo que no pueden extingui es el placer de ser tu, con tus manos y conocimiento , el que hizo una obra de arte , unica y mucho mas duradera que las lindas porqurias y muy rápidamente petecederad ,( caducidad programada) muy lindas si pero dentro de poco tendras que comprar otra ya que lo lindo , se extropeo rapido.
Le doy gracias a Dios por hacer que todavía , jovenes como este , disfruten y se sientan orgullosos de hacer esto , a pesar de que le pagaran una miseria comparado con el trabajo que le dió, pero asi estan las cosas hoy , mis felicitaciones al artesano , las gracias por no hacerme sentir tan solo en esta situación de los artesanos poco valorados
Hola, estoy un 100% de acuerdo contigo. El problema, actualmente es que, para ser reconocido y valorado, la experticia de los artesanos debe cobrarse muy cara, lo que aleja a las personas de ingresos promedios que antaño consumían esta clase de productos y servicios, quedando sólo accesible a los estratos de más altos recursos.
Es una cuestión sin solución, si los artesanos desean cobrar lo que su trabajo realmente vale, no pueden venderlos y, si desean venderlos, tienen que bajar sus precios hasta casi ganar una miseria.☹

@@rprusca I agree with what you said. Having said that, there will be some people out there that are willing to pay for the real thing rather than a mass produced cheaper alternative. As with anything in life, quality is more important to some people than price. For example, you can buy a pair of good quality leather shoes that will last you many years or you can buy a pair of shoes made from synthetic leather and after a year or so the synthetic leather starts to crack and break. Not the same comparison as to the skilled mans rendering but I hope it gets the point across :)

Ficou linda. Anos 70. Ainda está lá. no ponto mais alto do morro. A sua frente, toda a Ilha de Santa Catarina.

Pure skill (satisfying to watch) and a dying art in modern western world. My only concern is for the metal spikes used as with time they can potentially rust (as so close to the surface) and that can cause the concrete to flake off. I've seen this happen with other concrete structures. Also, does anyone know what was used to glued the bricks to the wall and then the render used for the final finish?
Ancient Greeks, Romans, Lycians and Lydians did the similar work all over the Mediterranean basin and Anatolia on much grander scales some three thousand years ago building cities temples amphitheatres so on and so forth by flawlessly chiselling out of blocks of marbles.

@@user-sy5xi3kb2d Проблема эта улица. Может в Техассах-Калифорниях климат позволяет иметь такую конструкцию. Но в регионах с более холодным и влажным климатом такое не очень годится. Само страшное это "переход через ноль". Заморозка-отморозка. Разрушится быстро.

Looks fabulous however you can buy the exact design made of Styrofoam and glue it to the wall in less than 30 minutes and when painted will look exactly the same. They cost under $100 dollars.
And will look terrible in 10 years.

Ну, для Сибири, где перепады температур за сутки может составлять 12 градусов +-, такой метод не подойдет. Удаляем маячки даже, так как металл сильно изменяет свои размеры от температуры. И хорошо если эта конструкция переживёт хотя бы год. Интересно, что за раствор они применили, очень похоже на глину. Возможно с песком бы такой вариант не прошёл. Или специальный песок нужен очень мелкой фракции.

As an “American” Builder, I assure you we can not implement this level of work. We have massive government oversight, OSHA, standard building codes, local inspection authorities and minimal safety standards that all but stopped using these types of crude practices 50 years ago.
