  • Hello everyone, Todays video was all about answering your questions that you had for me since the majority of you know me by my MedCircle interview. I figured I would take some time to respond to as many questions as I could. I fought switching on camera so you will get to see what that looks like as well.

Look how honest and genuine this girl is. For anyone to say that she's acting or lying is just beyond me. I mean if you've never heard of DID and see the switches for the first time, sure maybe you'll think "this must be fake". But after you learn more and watch more of Encina and see her talk so amazingly clearly and soberly about everything, not just switching but everything pertaining to her past, current life and struggles, and disorder....it angers me to think people say it's an act. Open your minds a bit.

Encina, your first interview on MedCircle set me off on a journey of seeking for clarity about what it means to be a human being and what it means to have a certain personality. I have read tons of material and watched so many videos, and still on my journey, but your interview will always be the root of everything. I do not have DID myself, but I do believe that this condition and understanding it will (and already have in certain ways) answer a lot of my questions that I have always had about the notion of personality and the experience of who we are. I will always be thankful to you for that. I know this is a weird kind of interest when I myself do not have DID, but I cannot hide how revelating it is to study this condition. I feel that the ideas I always had about human beings deeply misunderstanding what 'personality' means are so clearly shown by the existence of this condition. I am so sorry that you struggle with mental and physical health issues. I am here to watch your channel and support you with my thoughts. And who knows, maybe my secret project will come to life one day and I can also spread the word that DID is really there and is not scary at all, on the contrary, it is the most revelating thing to learn about it. Thank you!!

    • @SashyGryphyth
      @SashyGryphyth Před 5 lety +2

Rita L One thing to understand about personality is it isn't dependant on the physical body to define it. It is a different aspect of self that can be defined as any masculine, feminine, effiminate, cultural, educational or class whether the body pertains to those notions or not.
Like Dumbledore said, it's not what we are that defines us, it is our choices.
The personality will always use the tools available to it for self expression, but having a tool isn't the same as having a rule to use it, let alone a rule not to use it extra resourcefully than expected. A MacGyvering if you like.
DID and many other psychological manifestations are a MacGyvering a person does when in a difficult situation and has to make do with what's available even if they don't have the prescribed or ideal means of coping.
A close shave may well cut the corners off a square and create a roung peg in a square hole just to look like it fits. The bits need somewhere to exist aswell. The bits are never gone, so what goes through at a certain time is what is manifesting.
The difference between body and personality may also link to why some feel transgendered. They don't necessarily have multiple personalities, but it may well not fit the design they inhabit. I don't know the cause for this, but there's evidence many transgendered people also have a traumatic past. It's hard to say which came first, the personality or the trauma. But in childhood people are closer to gender neutrality than they grow up to be. And gender culture is such a big thing it's hard to say what really is derrived from the gender or what was taught was "supposed to" be. If we knew that, we'd know if the personality was rejecting gender *culture*, or their body.
However, accepting a personality is really as important as accepting the physical form you see when interacting with people, and this means people are more diverse than their body is on its own. There are no repeats, no true clones. Each person is unique, even if some come pretty similar. So in the end, regardless how much we understand about people we must always be cautious of pidgeon-holing them.

I just recently watched you’re interview videos and they’ve more than certainly helped me get an understanding on what I’ve been going thru for the past 2yrs. I recently became my mothers care provider, she has MS along with a number of auto immune disorders and DID to top it off. We are only 25yrs apart and she’s having the worst exacerbation in the hospital ever, to the point we’re concerned she may lose ability to function from the neck down. Our fingers are crossed that she pulls thru. But I personally want to thank you for sharing your stories with us. It hits home so hard for us. Especially myself. Stay beautiful and continue being strong.

I think it's important for DID systems to eventually grow brave and stable enough to face their abusers, like that Australian woman, Jeni Haynes, who testified in court and sent her abuser dad to jail.
I really wish that becomes more possible for more systems, a lot of which never work up the courage to do so. I'm also very happy that Encina's abuser had a tragic end and that stopped her in his tracks to continue that abuse.

I would like to ask a potentially disturbing question. You and Minnie are obviously your own unique personalities, and the way you talk about your alters leads me to regard them as autonomous people, ready to make their own decisions, supporting their own opinions. The question is: Do you think that all your alters have their own soul? They do seem to have free will.

I've came from the MedCircle video about you talking about your DID and it sure is interesting, I must say and I do love learning more about mental illnesses. I like learning and can honestly put myself through the shoes of people that go through it with DID.
Cause at first I didn't really get the grasp of it since it's so complex, but as I read more online about it and saw your interview as well as here, I learn more and more and appreciate all your efforts put into your videos. Keep going and ignore the hate, only open-minded individuals will understand and care enough. I love you.
I have a friend online with DID, he calls it MPD but is the same. Is there any difference between manifestation of it in females and males?
Because it seems like the males seem more aggressive and violent hence they got that "Abuser" alter inherited from their environment. So they act more like, excuse me, "dicks" to others to try and get accepted indirectly. And also obviously act more dominant since they might resent on their abuse and generalize it towards more people that they think might judge or go against them, in which is understandable. They don't want to split, so they develop more alters to deal with the situation at hand. Yeah, and that's basically how my friend is, he got that unreconciled emotional part alter that every friend leaves and he gets depressed and suicidal.
I myself start to act more off recently, I'm having lots of acute paranoia and depersonalization-derealization episodes, I've had fugues and amnesias as well. I feel like I'm not myself, most of the situations and regular day activities make feel like I'm going through a dream, like I don't exist here. Like my mind really is somewhere off this, "dimension", put it that way. I do have a bad intuition that I might develop it soon. And I do think I had parts in my life where I already split, since I do have flashbacks and intense hopelessness and I do feel different parts of me that reoccur or "hiddenly" switch.
    Some background:
I had a physically and emotionally abusive father, and I was I think in 3rd-6th grade, which is reasonable age for the psychological effects it had on me developing throughout the years. It was hell, and I vividly remember me splitting into a more mature and knowledgeable kind of person out of thin air. All my not forthcoming "alters" has each some kind of mental illness I think. And I do know it's not easy, it wasn't easy for me and I get that it isn't for other people that went through it either.
Thank you for reading, regards kind and enthralling Aquarian. ❤️
I'm a pure Gemini with another Gem Moon, Aqua influenced.

Hey girl, I don't have DID but I do have epilepsy so I can relate to losing hours or even days and not knowing how I got from point A to B. It's uncomfortable to say the least to have to deduce how and why you're where you end up. I empathize with this aspect of your condition as it's one I can relate to personally. Hope you're doing ok. Thanks for the videos and being so open about your experiences. You're so brave and strong and your hair & makeup always looks amazing even through all the heavy stuff you share 💜

WHATS HAPPENING during that switch? If someone isnt aware of their alters, do they think they are falling asleep? are you fighting with the alter inside your head? when people go from not knowing they have alters to now knowing they have alters and aware of what is going on. also. is there any alter that identifies with the outward body and birth name? or is the one with the original personality before trauma too traumatized to come forward and the new host is different and protecting that person? what if its a little who was never able to develop

Hiya!!! i have watched this video a few times but the comments were never on so I am very excited but worried because i have DID and two of my littles want despereately to play with Minnie and in fact are co con and fighting to talk to Minnie. We have not met anyone else with DID but watch youtube daily. Are you doing better, Encina? You were in a bit of a rough patch and we sent strengthening vibes to you. I won't write a book the first time I comment on one of your videos. I am not a good people person but i know that that is tacky. Hang in there.

I don’t want to sound offensive in any way, only honest. When you were starting to switch at 12:09 it made me feel faint and sick to my stomach. Not in a bad or disgusted way but more of an empathetic way. I hope this comment doesn’t make you sad. I only am curious if you’ve heard this before. When I watched you in the interview with Kyle I felt the same way the entire time Minnie was being interviewed. I think you are a beautiful, strong woman and I think you are very brave to be so open. You are helping a lot of people I’m sure.
Thank you for reading and wish you the absolute best.

Most of us can’t switch, we have to deal with what we went through as we are. Some say they have learned how to cope with it, but there is those times when it hits you like the weight of the world. Maybe Encina you are the lucky one as far as how you cope with what happened in your past. Not saying it’s any easier cause I will never experience how you deal with your past. Anyway I love your truthfulness and your bravery in bringing out in the open your DID.

Yes, Antonio everyone handles trauma differently. I understand how you can use the work "lucky" in the way that a person with DID handles trauma, but being able to escape with the help of an alter doesn't make it easier because one still has to deal with it and it's after effects. So in the long run there truly is no escape. I hope you the best on your life journey, Antonio of healing and peace. www.incmedia.org

Hi Encina, you have such a beautiful personality and are a great teacher! The brain’s survival mechanisms is my favorite subject. I could chat for hours with you 🥰.
Q: i’ve always wondered how a conversation goes “inside” with your alters. For example, Minnie said sometimes she colors “inside”. Do you all have “inner” worlds like that where you can meet to talk or do your conversations resemble the way we think in our heads? Hope this makes sense! 😅😅
Sending you courage, energy and love 💕 xxx

I suffer from bipolar II and ptsd from sexual abuse as well. I can completely understand how you would disassociate from the situation and have alters. Abuse victims do this to some varying degree to cope with the abuse. You literally go somewhere else to escape the moment. While yours is a more extreme case of this, I can understand to a point how this can happen. Dealing with any mental illness is hard and I commend you for putting yourself out there.

The way you explained coming back, after you’ve been disassociate, it reminded me of how it feels when I have a blackout seizure. When I come out of one, if someone took me away from where I was, it takes me some time to recognize where I am. That can be confusing because things don’t look familiar.

Hi Encina! Thank you for making such amazing videos and sharing your experience and life with D.I.D. And I just wanted to ask if your system has an inner world? I know from other systems here on CZcams that you can have one, and I was wondering if you're experience, or rather reality, I guess, is somewhat similar.
PS: If I may make a suggestion for a future video, I think it would be easier to hear you if the background music was at a lower volume.
    Love you, stay strong!! ❤️
