Made with the NES Pulse VST, and the 8bitSF and Game Gear soundfonts Original song made by Yoko Kanno #music #8bit #chiptune #sega #dreamcast #yokokanno #famicom #nes
What a symbiotic creation this is to me. Yoko Kanno's my favourite composer and I have a real soft spot for the Game Gear soundfont in games that use it well (Aleste comes to mind). Match made in heaven, fantastic work with this. Dunno if the pixel art is yours too but I absolutely love it all the same.
The pixel art is mine, which is about half the reason why this took so long to come out While I do use the Game Gear soundfont, if I remember correctly, it was only for the percussion that occurs in the big “orchestra” part (and the soft trill that occurs there) around the end of the song. Most of the instruments used were made with the NES Pulse VST, and the guitar and saxophone were made with the 8bitSF I do still think the Game Gear soundfont is the best for things like piano, certain percussion, pads, etc.
