►剧情简介：

This show was so good from beginning to end, but Zhe Yuan’s performance is what kept me watching. I’ve seen his other shows and he can play a serious role so well (as opposed to the silly Xiaoyuer). Such a versatile and promising actor!

I happened across this series during COVID on Netflix and I've watched it three times (44 episodes!); it is wonderful. Although the whole cast is great, this young actor really carries the series with his charismatic performance; I wish him the best in his future career.

He was supposed to be the "bad seed", but he was the strongest character in the whole show. I wish the show developed his love story with Rat King's adopted daughter, or just got rid of it entirely. He had more chemistry with the first girl, and what they went through together just felt more real to me. He was so quirky but very intelligent, and I love that the show explored the idea of his intelligence being his flaw as well as his strength.

His name is Xiaoyue (Little Moon). The added "r" is to express affection or endearment I believe.
@@Kingdom_Of_Dreams actually its xiaoyu! (小鱼) (edit: directly translated to small fish! in chinese 小 is more of a nickname but as you know xiaoyuer didn't grow up in a very proper household) and yes "er" or "儿" is to express affection or endearment :)
I have been watching this drama. I really hope Xiao Yu Er becomes a very strong martial artist. He is really weak compare to Hua Wu.

The ending is awesome! I'm rewatching for these 2nd time now.
He was pretty weak compared to his brother, but he started practicing martial arts much more diligently after that incident where Tie Xinlan saved him. Xiaoyu'er still acted indifferently and hid his true skills to the public (preferring to solve his problems with his wit) but he would keep improving his martial arts in the background. He kept practicing the martial arts skills from the manual that he found while being trapped with Jiang Yulang, learned techniques to counter the Yihua Palace's martial arts skills when Yaoyue locked him in that room where he eventually escaped with Tie Pinggu, and personally learned the Yihua Palace's coveted martial arts skills from the second master herself when they were all trapped in Wei Wuya's cave. Xiaoyu'er showed off how powerful he became when he saved the performing troupe girl and her father as well as the time he defeated Wei Wuya in combat. If I recall correctly the second master of Yihua Palace said Xiaoyu'er's aptitude for martial arts and the improvements he made after 2 days of training were on par with his brother. Xiaoyu'er himself told Nantian that he hid his martial arts skills and can take care of himself during the final duel with Hua Wuque.

The quality of production for a TV show was pretty damn fantastic. They didn't cheap out on the action scenes. They went for it. Can anyone recommend another series like this? Please don't tell me "Joy of Life". I didn't like that action scene camera work for that show. Like I said, Handsome Brothers was quite good.
