    I'm ex BT so I can't wait to see what Openreach say about access to my home, I worked with the person who set up the junction boxes outside my house and the conduit into here!

    Aye I found this video so useful and helpful as I've just got this as I needed something like this for my ps5 and xbox one x. I used to have their other broadband with 74mbps which was decent but download speeds were hour so on.
    I had bt infinity but wis paying too much.
    Hub etc looks very nice something that looks modern.
    Just wondering how fast it downloads 100gb games like Halo and cod? I like the idea of downloading huge games in few mins.
    Hope you getting the speeds you getting and no problems at all.
    I think vodafone has been pretty good as I just upgraded to s24 ultra from s21 ultra with vodafone.
    Hope your enjoying full fibre 900!

      There has been a hitch that means I'm still waiting for it to be installed, update expected on Monday so hopefully not too long till I can make a follow up video

    I’ve literally just signed up to this same deal two days ago myself,
    very similar story tbh,
    I’ve been with EE (& orange before they were bought out) for around 20 years & we only went from 2gb to 50 odd max over that time!! Can’t believe I stayed with them so long now…. 🤦‍♂️
    Hopefully this deal will be good for us both mate, 🤞
    Ive gone for the full 900 but they say around 500 odd is guaranteed 🤞👍

      Well I'm not off to the best of starts, the day after I posted this video I got a notification from City Fibre that they were cancelling the engineer visit due to an issue at their end, the following day I got a further email from them and vodafone saying that it was a blockage and coukd take up to 10 days to resolve , I'm getting compensation for every day my service isn't live but no update as to when it'll be fixed.
      I had already put the motion in works to cancel my Sky broadband but was lucky enough to catch it in time and cancel it, think you have 48 hours from the point of cancelling.
      Disappointed with how it has gone, so far is a massive under statement 😔

      @@BrisyTechBytesUpdate my end, day 3 from ordering i had a basic query about the fitting so i rang them, Just as well as they had received a notification of cancellation from city fibre….. long story short, city fibre had automatically selected a phone number, that through up an issue and automated cancelled the whole thing, broadband service, vodaphone broadband account & fitting….. & said they had called me but hadn’t!!!
      Got it all re arranged with Vodaphone (over the phone this time) so new number was selected manually & confirmed by City fiber as ok 👌
      Then got all the emails to confirm fitting etc that i hadn’t received before! So back on track but 4 days behind….. 🤦‍♂️

    Thanks, I just ordered Full Fibre 500 as my EE supply price for 36 mb/s had gotten way too pricey. Good to see the hardware, looking forward to part 2 with your feedback.

      Ended up having to cancel Vodaafone and sent all the equipment back due to City Fibre basically cancelling the engineer visit due to not being able to do the installation and didn't provide a new date when they could attend, really shocking from City Fibre to be honest.
      Hopefully all goes well for you, clearly issues where I stay actually completing the cabling to the houses despite them having already ran the lines up the street.

      Fairly confident for me, I hope lol. I was the optical fibre manager in Northern Ireland. for BT. I know the Openreach supply is with me. We'll wait and see. Thanks for your update. Hope you get your VFM supply soon.@@BrisyTechBytes

      @andyarmstrong1493 ended up ordering gigafast through my current provider which is Sky, the Openreach engineer who came out was far more helpful and basically confirmed what I thought was the issue, that there is no conduit leading to the property so for that to happen the civils team will need to come out and dig a bit of the street and the monoblocking in the drive up.
      City Fibre simply cancelled the order for the installation at their end with no further info of why they done it or with an updated installation date, had they done that and I maybe had to wait a few weeks longer that would have been fine with me.
      It's a pity as I was looking forward to trying the Vodafone equipment out and also having an upload speed that'was the same as the download speed.
      Enjoy the new broadband when it's up and running 👍

      @@BrisyTechBytes I got a great deal with EE so I stayed with them. Basically I'm paying about £3 more to go from 35 gig to 500 gig full fibre. Openreach came today and they were able to use the underground duct in to my home to pull the fibre through. The whole thing took about 40 minutes, amazing! Hope yours works out okay.

    Hi Scott, I have just had this new routr etc installed with the full fibre 500 package after upgrading from Vodafone FTTC 75Mb. Im curious if you have a ladline telephone with them too? I find it very ambiguous whether if you have a landline if your meant to continue with thr copper landline or connect to the router for VOIP

    • @BrisyTechBytes
      @BrisyTechBytes  Před 2 měsíci

      Hi Daniel, bit of a long story but I'm yet to be set up with Vodafone.
      With regards to the copper telephone line, that will become redundant in my property as it will be VOIP as you mentioned through the new fibre linecand router, in my current set up which is only 68mb I am on VOIP although the Internet service is still provided through the copper wires, I believe the intention is to phase out all the copper lines and for us all to go fibre.

    Great video Scott. I’ve looked at Vodafone before and I’m really interested in finding out how Vodafone performs. I’m on the same speed from Virgin but Vodafone is cheaper and I’m out of contract.

    • @BrisyTechBytes
      @BrisyTechBytes  Před 4 měsíci +1

      Cheers Stu, for me being on such a low speed I know it'll be a massive upgrade, I'm just interested to see how close to the advertised speed I'll get and over time just how reliable it is.

    • @LindaGGG
      @LindaGGG Před 4 měsíci +1

      I’m with Virgin Media and to be fair it’s very reliable however they have just hiked up the price to a whopping £62 a month. The customer service they provide is one of the worst Ive ever experienced. It takes hours to get through and when you eventually manage to speak to an operator presumably based in India you can’t understand what they are saying.
      Im looking to change providers so looking forward to your next video as to how your experience is going.

    No idea how to connect the ultra hub via the Vodafone broadband app. The ultra hub doesn't even show up as an option in app to connect to. Just my old router which is disconnected and boxed away.
