Mouth harps exist in so many places around the world! Places such as Hungary, Siberia, Germany, India, even the U.S.A. all use mouth harps in some traditional music. It's one of the oldest instruments, and is widespread across pretty much the whole world. Not to mention mouth harps have an amazing sound!

What an excellent instrument the Morching is, well explained by Bhagyalakshmi madam. This instrument has been used in many film music scores.

Really nothing like this instrument. In my childhood a gentleman used to play this instrument in our home. He was a tenant in our ancestral home in Malleshwaram. Really out of curiosity I just happened to listen the chimes tonight. Hat's off to you for your talent and my best wishes to you in having a interest to propagate this rare musical instrument's importance. All the best 🤝🙏

Thank you very much. It is good that you are interested in teaching more ladies and the art should get more practitioners. Attraction towards peforming arts, music, acting etc. is some sort of pre-ordained destiny. Bhimsen Joshi left his family and studies and stayed with his guru to learn hindustani music. Sometimes you will succeed, and many times you will end up not so successful.

We hear that this Kalakar is from the Viswa(karma)brahmin community from Nagartharpet, Bangalore. Whatever may be the caste, she plays Morching in an excellent manner. We have to appreciate it. But the irony is that no ladies are coming forward to learn this rare instrument which accompanies the Carnatic musicians. Hats off to her.
