Thyroid hormones are derived from the amino acid tyrosine and are synthesized through sequential iodination of the tyrosine phenol rings. First, iodine is added to the phenol ring meta positions, resulting in monoiodotyrosine if a single site is iodinated or diiodotyrosine if two sites are iodinated

I have a doubt ,
1) after Iodide oxidation it becomes Iodine (inorganic)
2) we are calling Mono Iodio THYROSINE(Iodine is organic) AND Di-iodo THYROSINE Tri-iodo-THYROSINE ..
3)it is iodinated why can't call them as Monoiodino THYROSINE and Di-Iodino-thyrosine (organic iodine)???
I think inodination is carried out by iodinase , not by thyroperoxidase
