I had a 95 auto, and I miss that supercharger sound so much. I only put a 5% pulley on mine after modding exhaust. Read too many stories on the blown head gaskets. Damn I loved that car
It’s a thunderbird sc thing. Loves to climb top of normal but always comes back down. That’s why they are prone to blown head gasket people over work them then turn off fast and the heads warp and boom blown gasket
I had one my ex best friend Dave. M. In Illinois sold it or 500 dollar's I moved out of state thought he would make sure it didn't get stolen or the stereo system in it was 6,000 it was for my son's birthday he said it wasn't worth that anymore I spent 15 grand fixing it up. I didn't want the buy to be in any trouble so I let it be that happened 20 years ago still haven't been able to replace both thanks Dave trying to forgive almost there but won't forget. If it were me I I would of kept it till he needed it
@@f3rrrbdn79 the SC goes 143 to 147 mph stock from factory in 1989 and some years SC got faster after that. These cars were faster and better handling then the Mustangs but restricted big time by Ford. Otherwise it would spank the Mustang like his daddy. I've hit 140 mph in mine when I got it and still had more to go. I got off the throttle after that mostly because of my tires at the time. It was also bone stock and could of prob used a tune up too. Now I've got more air going in the intake and alittle different exhaust including higher flowing mufflers and 1 catalytic converter only, instead if 3 catalytic converters and a "exhaust silincer". Huge differences that will make alone will get you to atleast 150mph. It zips around town like king.
Great Car. Awesome the fast in aceleration. The main is stock with original 65000 miles and some times i wish mod, but i see than any one else is mod. No originals cars along.
thats a SHIFT LIGHT. these SC came with that stock. Need to be Re programed. to not light up till a higher RPM. or that the way the owner's wants it to be. so you now your getting high up in those RPM. so you don't blow it up as Easy.
Its the shift up light, seems kind of strange since it's an Auto trans, but it was kind of a governor. The stock ECU wouldn't allow a full throttle 3-4 shift, it would just keep revving, it was very annoying
@@seancarr7018 yeah thats what im saying i have to put mine in overdrive after 70 or it will top out maybe you can give me a list of stuff you have done
That was 0-99 😂 but seemed pretty damn fast! Wow!!!

I had a 91 SC Auto. I replaced the tall 3.08 gears with a set of 3.73's, it made a huge difference in acceleration.
15 PSI of boost!
Beautiful sounding car
I had a red 1990, man I loved that thing.
faster than what the internet said it would be :p
That temp gauge climbed like crazy
+Josh Fletchall It was cold. I used to have a 4.6 and it'd do that and stop right above half way then stay there.
My 1995 does this to.

I love the SC slightly modified it runs easily over 250 KpH (155 MpH) but the cooling is really the Achilles' heel of this car
Stieglitz: what do you modified on a Thunderbird SC??
I want mine runs over 155MpH!!!

Who would have thought cooling would be an issue when u turn up the boost
@@Highlander1432 Open up the exhaust....
Car gets faster.... and boost goes down 👍
@@Highlander1432 Even on the stock pullies, you will make more power with less boost upgrading the stock charge pipes and intercooler.

Do these have a SC 3.8?
Yes they do. Eaton m90 from the factory.
Doesn't sound like a v6 here
@@covid-mx9ng nope that’s a v6 that is definitely the specific note of 3x3 explosions
0-60 in about 5.5 seconds, seems a little too fast even with a 10% OD pulley lol
how is the redline so high on the automatic
Its only 4 gears

No Explorer ever came with the Essex v6 moron.
stock with just a pully
