- Today we will be setting up and calibrating our NanoVNA H4. Previously we did the firmware upgrade on the NanoVNA H4 which removed all of my previous settings and calibrations.

Question: These Nano VNAs vary, in price, from $40-$50, to some in the $120-$140 range, up to the "Mini-1300," for $180. As far as I can tell, they all seem to have similar performance. The more expensive ones have larger displays, but that's about the only difference I can find. They all have a sweep function, measure R & jX, produce Smith charts, & measure VSWR. Frequency ranges are similar, and more than what I need (2m & 70cm). So, how is the $180 one better than the $40 model?

Awesome video, thank you! I have been trying to figure out, on my own, how to change the way the nano displays swr.
The word you want is "dielectRic" - note the R. There is a word "diAlectic, but it means something entirely different. Thanks for the great video.
Hahaha I know my mistake over the years I picked up the "dialectic" term from a family member.

Good catch! Yes I was thinking of dialectic like the dialectic grease you put on spark plugs, etc.

Hi Keath, to get your saved settings you should be able to go to Recall tab and have them show up. In an upcoming video you will see that when I tune an EFHW wire. Manual is extensive as this little device can do a lot! Thank you for watching.

@@n3vanradio 1st time use tho. I turn it on then I was about to do the calibration and got frozen 🥶.
Hey Wally sorry for delay. If it is frozen then the case may be touching the screen due to faulty extrusion in manufacturing. Try to loosen the screws and it should work :)
It's dielectric not dialectic. I'm not a vernacular nazi normally, but considering you sound like an intelligent person I thought I should say something so in the future people do not underestimate your intelligence.

Congratulations on passing your Extra exam! I too am studying in the little spare time I have for the Extra as well.
