A cat and perfect embroidery of an accurate Egyptian Horus eye ,I clicked like before I watched ,I am Egyptian ,very proud of my ancestors and their amazing legacy and they loved cats too ♥
Totally amazing Sarah. Thank you so much for your very clear explanation of how you did this. I'm in absolute awe. More of your apprentice pieces please.
Hang on Sarah I've just gotta pick my jaw up off the floor. This piece of art is absolutely amazing. The hours of work is surely worth it when you see how beautiful the end result is. You have a talent in so many areas. I really love to watch your videos.
I don't have an ounce of patience to even *attempt* silk shading. The whole piece is simply stunning! I love the gold work against the colors you chose, too.
It’s incredible when you walk us through all of the tiny details and considerations! When I look at it at a glance I think “wow that’s really pretty!!” And then when you zoom in and point out all of the tiny tiny details I am Absolutley gobsmacked!! Wow!
OMG!!! This was literally "pick my jaw up from the floor" STUNNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just magnificent! I can only imagine how much more gorgeous it is up close and in person.
Incredible amount of work and detail. Like you I love Egypt and a sunrise hot air balloon ride over the valley of the kings will remain in my heart forever. Great to see your process. Thank you 😊
@@SarahHomfrayEmbroidery it will remain in my memory. Nit least because when visiting King Tutankhamun's tomb it was unbearably hot and I almost passed out...even Egyptians said it was too hot!
I love all things Ancient Egypt too. This design is outstanding and so beautifully worked and explained. The amount of detail is extraordinary...totally love it. Tyfs 😊
What a masterpiece!! I love the way you took us through the process, I had no idea of the amount of planning and preparation that was required upfront. To be honest, at first, when I saw the whole piece, I was not so impressed with the falcon, probably because it has no goldwork, no beads, etc. But when you zoomed in and showed the very fine details, the 3D effect with the split stitches underneath, the numbers of colours, the real size compared to your hand, I was in shock!! Such an amazing work. Thank you so much for sharing the behind the scene of the creation of this piece, what an inspiration!
Gobsmacked. Lost for words. That is absolutely FANTASTIC! You have truly inspired me.With the research and preparation along with the different techniques and types of threads...Outstanding. Please keep us up to date on your works and course.
Amazing! I went to art school. Can remember painting intense little details, no idea how I did that. Must have been the energy of the early twenties? Which would drive one to tie a lot of miniature bullion knots, LOL!
Breathtaking! This is fine art of the highest level... with a needle! I really like how you take us through the process of creating such a masterpiece. You are a very gifted artist and a great teacher. Thank you!
Sarah!!!! Trabalho magnífico !!! E você explicou o projeto e o processo da peça. Uma obra de arte digna de estar no Louvre. O falcão e tão real . Parabéns !!!!
That’s Interesting and complicated story about the Egyptian Tridesigns! you showed use and the stitching of your Hierarchical words(?). Soo interesting with your type of embroideries and was so detailed and small with your tiny lips and toes- The Falcon was a great how you made feathers which I wondered back in learning quilt about eagles 🦅 So more info and Congratulations what you designed and accomplished so complicated designs- Thank you, Sarah Homfray! ]With my disabled R hand , maybe I’ll create some exercises with your embroideries- 😂 They are Beautiful what you created and I have so much from you and your videos! Thank you now but more thank you’d will coming in this year. Much Best to you and your husband for your kindness, patience and understanding from your instructions. Its wonderful with those close/ ups too💕🥰
So intricate and amazing! I really appreciate the detailed tour and explanation! I love the way you used pre-planning and intend to try that on some of my projects. This comment is 3 years late, but the wealth is still there! March 21, 2024
Incredible. Thank you for showing us close-ups, how you did it, your notes and your practices. Planning and practicing obviously pays-off. Wonderful, wonderful.
I have just found you, and, like you I love all things Egyptian, your piece is absolutely breathtaking, I stand amazed at the incredible talent of some people, thankyou for sharing your process, you are incredibly talented
This is an absolute masterpiece. I have always been a fan of Egyptian art and was able to see the Tutankhamun exhibit many years ago while visiting Chicago. It was one of the highlights of my lifetime. Seeing your piece here, I feel your beautiful embroidery would fit right in that exhibit. I am in awe. I have been following you for several years, but had not seen this video until this afternoon. It is such a treat. Thank you so much for sharing your poassion and techniques with us. I own the "Book of Embroidery" from RSN and just recently saw that you were one of the authors. Another wonderful accomplishment. Thank you!
Sarah, just to let you know that i started my embroidery project last week-end making a pillow cover with flowers🌺. I definitely need to practice filling the leaves.
That piece is absolutely gorgeous and very intense. You must have a lot of patience to do something so intricate. It was just beautiful. Thank you for sharing with us.
Bravo! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 Mrs. Sarah. When at university we tend to do more then needed to prove to ourselves our capabilities and having competitive cohorts pushes us forward also. And clearly, the extra threads paid off. You now get to look back with great pride which can fuel you to want to do more beautiful work today and tomorrow, just like you hunted pumpkin. I salute you Mrs. Homfray
I think the papyrus look is distressed…that looks wonderful…beautiful work from the beginning❣️ I think the king’s name sounds like Toot Uncommon 😅 the colors are amazing and well thought out 👍🏽 brilliant work and time, Sarah! Thanks for sharing..🙏🏽🙋🏻♀️👍🏽Mia
Stunning. Please make more like this as it's wonderful to be able to see apprentice pieces. It also makes clear the difference working tapestry shading as compared to natural shading.
absolutely gorgeous.....a true work of art...me being a painter I really love the dimension you were able to create, in part because you did use so many shades of color...the feathers on the falcon, man they are hard to do in watercolor!! of course the other figures are stunning in themselves...I also like to plan out paintings...with watercolor you can mess up very easily...I actually have a print of a painting I made with Egyptian motif...would love to send you a photo of it, but alas, although I paint and draw I can't do much with technology....totally challenged....just beautiful....l also love the colors of egypt....
I have 12 papyrus paintings in my hallway! I want that gorgeous design, I want it badly! What an artist you are, it’s easy to see why it took a year to complete. I love your choice of colours.
Sarah, thank you so much for such an in depth explanation of the process of creating this beautiful piece. I never knew there were different types of silk shading until today!! I look forward to viewing more of your videos

You've amazed me with your Egyptian peice of work. I thought it was stunning and it makes my embroidery look positively childish. Unlike you however, I've never had a lesson in embroidery in my life, I've just made it up as I've gone on & to be honest, I dont think ive got the patience it obviously takes to do the highest class of embroidery you do.
I did this piece as part of my apprenticeship during which we stitched for 8 hours a day, five days a week (plus homework!). It was pretty full on! I don't have time (or probably the eyesight!) to do this sort of thing now but there is room for every type of embroidery including making it up as you go along which sometimes I like to do to!
A cat and perfect embroidery of an accurate Egyptian Horus eye ,I clicked like before I watched ,I am Egyptian ,very proud of my ancestors and their amazing legacy and they loved cats too ♥
