So when they 2 came together to sing this song, Floor went in fully fangirl mode. And Henk is a character who can push a singer to their limits even a Floor Jansen. So they 2 didn't play the characters, they were the characters. Thats the reason why this masterpiece appears on this little stage.

As I've said in other videos of yours, and I'll say it again here, the world would be a better place if everyone just sat for a moment and watched music with you... especially anything with Floor Jansen singing. Her voice could bring world peace if everyone would just listen
She's just phenomenal. And Henk, first time performing that in a more metal style, after all his years doing it in a pure opera style. Great for both of them, great performance. Floor is unmatched in this world though!!

This song is a masterpiece, a showcase of true musicianship. And if you really think about it, it was the most risky choice on the entire show. Why you ask? well quite simple, this is THAT song, the nightwish army, 100.000's of them, have been wishing for, ever since Floor joined Nightwish. And when the rumor started, that the song would be "The Phantom of the Opera" the hype started to grow, and grow and grow, and then it was announced that indeed "The Phantom" was going to done, the hype exploded. And therein lies the risk, hype is a poison, hype is deadly, hype raises our expectations to unreachable levels, basically, we're dumbasses fooling ourselves, everytime we buy into the hype of anything. So we all went it with expectations of greatness, excellence and perfection.... And they still topped ALL we expected, for once in a life time, the hype was understated..... not only did they give us perfection, they pretty much stopped the universe for the duration of that song... The perfect ending, to a perfect season, of a perfect show with a perfect cast of singers... thnx for the great reaction :D

There are many, many great singers who may never be appreciated by the masses. Maybe because they sing in a language besides English, or maybe because they only sing in the shower (with the water running or not). But Floor Jansen is the best of this time. From Phantom to Nightwish to O mio babbino caro (Puccini) and don't forget Beste Zangers. Her voice is an international treasure. Experiment and have fun?!!!
I do believe that last note was a D6, and I would believe it. Hands down the best song on that show. And proving once again Floor is better then any singer out there today.

Great reaction. Floor requested this duet with Henk, and he agreed on the condition that when Nightwish next visits the Netherlands he’d get to perform with them. Floor said yes of course but it hasn’t been confirmed officially to my knowledge, fingers crossed though.

That was better than I imagined, yes it was better even though all the hype usually is the kiss of death. Not here, Floor and her idol, Henk nailed this one, it is like Webber wrote this just for them (and I love Sarah Brightman's version but this, this was insane). If they had costumes and the dark cavern set you would swear you were watching the stage show!!!Now that was the grand finale to this grand show, and it will be missed as everyone on this show have been great and a shout-out to the studio band that has done songs from many different genres and sounded great doing it!!! Henk actually played the role of Erik for a living for a while back in the 90s, originating the role in the Netherlands. I've seen quite a few bootlegs and he remains one of the most intense versions of the character I've ever seen.
I have always loved The Phantom of the Opera. I remember back in my 20's, back in late 80's, maybe early 90's , stuck in rush hour traffic in Charlotte NC, in my convertable LeBaron , me and 3 other buddies, dressed in heavy metal attire , top down, phantom blaring turned up to 11 in the car, all of us jamming. Needless to say, we got some strange looks lol.

But those backgrounds explain the chemistry the two of them have. That said.... From 3:56 onward, I began to feel a bit like a peeping tom. It started to feel like by continuing to watch, I was interrupting something. And full disclosure, I loved it.
The show has no comparison to anything in the US. They invite a guest to the show who is famous for a song or performance. They then invite artists to sing the song(s) the guest is famous for or made famous and are judged and critiqued for their performance by the guest and the panel (others seated). Henk Poort actually played the part of "The Phantom" on stage for many many years and because the song was a duet, he elected to perform with Floor. Floor is the definition of a consummate performer. She engages not only the audience but immerses herself "in character" and really sells it.
