Buster lives in such a pretty area of the world. Looks similar to northeast USA. Our woodpeckers have a band of white around their eyes, beauty!

Birds are my kitties biggest enemies, well except Osku, he’s too young and just fascinated. But the other 2 have been on my balcony when the birds decide to congregate at the tree right next to the balcony and annoy my cats! They even pretend to attack, only to not get close enough to be eaten. My oldest kitty might be 12 years old but she’s a real hunter. She caught a squirrel when we were outside the first time on a leash and she was like 4 months old. Im glad she understands we are in the 4th floor now and doesn’t try to pounce on the birds from the balcony. Wish I had the windows like you, all I have is a net thing from the pet store.

I love Uncle Buster but if there’s a nest they attack from the sky. Those woodpecker have long pointy beaks. Ouchie!!! He’s actually flying around sort of following Buster. The calling is to draw him away from the nest.

As far as any bird is concerned, any cat (house or feral) is a potential predator.

I’m with Buster on this. It is annoying! The nerve of that bird, shouting like that and not even in tune! Still, Mr Chill carries on as always. Buster and his human have the best adventures. 💕🇨🇦

Thanks for another great video. That woodpecker was certainly aware of Buster, but fortunately no harm done. Some birds will actually dive bomb a cat, especially during the nesting season. Has that ever happened to Buster? Blue jays definitely do that ... I've seen them. We have lots in Ontario, do you have them in Sweden? And heaven help Buster if he meets a goose or swan: they can be really nasty. Believe it or not, I've even seen a robin go after a cat.

What kind of woodpecker was this? I found a lot of information about the Great Spotted Woodpecker which is common in Sweden, but this one looked nothing like that. Alternately searching for ones with a red "cap", returned lots that aren't indigenous to Sweden at all.
I didn't recognise it at first. It's bigger than the normal woodpeckers I have seen. But after searching I found that it was a black woodpecker 🙂

Do you ever encounter dogs while out walking with Buster? If you do, how do you handle it?
I've wondered/worried about that, too.
We mostly walk where there are almost no other people. We have met dogs only a few times. We just take a few steps to the side and I put the leash on Buster. Nothing bad has ever happened 🙂
The ones we have met have been good and their owners have had control over them.
