Vocal Coach reacts to Annapantsu's cover of Hellfire from Hunchback of Notre Dame.
In this video, I react to and analyze Annapantsu's voice as she sings Hellfire from Hunchback of Notre Dame. Just a quick disclaimer: I reused a picture for the thumbnail. I LOVED every second of this performance. Anna is an AMAZING vocalist and I'm in awe how she is able to tell this story through song through an audio recording, alone.

She has a really pretty voice. I like that it’s not like your typical Disney princess voice. Although her voice isn’t perfect, she’s still young and it’s growing and I can only imagine how beautiful she’ll sound as she matures.
I think a “perfect” voice isn’t practical. It’s impossible to be 100% perfect all the time. I think Anna is VERY close to it though! Haha. She is very consistent and aware, vocally and with her acting. I’m very impressed!
@@KennethJamesYT I guess I could have worded that better 😅 but what I mean is that I think she’s grown a lot from when she first started posting and her voice is still growing, I can only imagine it getting better and stronger. She’s super talented for sure!

@@KennethJamesYT Oh, not me! My voice is so horrible, it hurts OTHER people when I sing.
I meant that she said in the description it hurt her voice to sing the really high notes, so if you see that one, since you understand vocals MUCH better than me, they might sound painful

Personally I love Anna's Be Prepared because while it lacks a little bit of power on the 'you won't get a sniff without me' line compared to the original, it is on point for tone and for me at least, even while others are catchier or show off her voice's range better, it is one of my favourites. You can feel the menacing nature, the resentment for being overlooked near the end, the condescending tone to the hyenas.
The song I actually found her by though was Holding Out For A Hero. I actually wanted a really smooth cover of it to exist and boom, there was Anna. Definitely my favourite version of that song.
People say Prince Ali is her best one but that is hard disagree for me (I actually don't like how high she goes in it, it feels painful to me, it gives me an internal twinge like I can feel it hurting her even though I can't hear any strain in her voice, and that distracts me from the rest of the song). If you do choose to look at that one, it is very impressive as a song, but like, there is a reason most people don't try for those notes. I prefer when she doesn't have to strain her voice because her voice is already amazing in the way she uses it.

Anna's cover of this song is one of my absolute favorites. She obviously kills it vocally, but also on tbe emotional aspect of the song.
I'd also definitely reccomend Elsie Lovelock's cover of it.

Does anyone else think with frollo being female make much more sense because if she was attracted to Esmeralda it would make her fell like she'd sinned even more. One being lesbian was unthinkable back then and it's even worse because she is head of that medieval church. She believes se is so much more "righteous" than others and is favored by God when in reality her heart is twisted and blacker than soot. Any one else think this would have been a great plot for the movie.

I know I'm late to the show but if you like the mix, the high notes and the belting, you'd definitely love her cover of Prince Ali. She did it as a 15 year old and it got copyrighted so she redid it. Even though it was straining for her voice and she said it was not only hard but painful, it is one of my favourite covers of her's. It's a masterpiece
