秋田竿燈まつり2023【理解が深まる字幕付き】/ Akita Kanto Festival (Explanation included in English)

◽️秋田竿燈まつりは東北三大祭りの１つ。毎年130万人以上の観光客が訪れます。
毎年、曜日に関係なく8月3日から6日にかけて開催されます。五穀豊穣を祈る行事として、約270年もの間、庶民のあいだに受け継がれてきた伝統の祭りです。
真夏の病魔や邪気を払う「ねぶり流し行事」が起源とされています。願い事を書いて吊るした笹を持って子どもたちが街を練り歩き、最後に川に流して無病息災などを祈っていたそうです。
竿燈は竹を結び組み立て、全体を稲穂、提灯を米俵に見立てたものです。大若・中若・小若・幼若の4種類の大きさがあります。
一番大きい大若には提灯が46個吊るされ、長さ12m、重さ50kgになります。
ロウソクで灯された暖かい色と夏の熱気が入り混じって、風情ある竿燈が街を彩ります。
大若は高さ12m重さ50kg、提灯の高さ64cm46個。中若は高さ9m重さ30kg、提灯の高さは48cm64個です。
小若は高さ7m重さ15kg、提灯の高さ48cm24個。幼若は高さ5m重さ5kg、提灯の高さは30cm24個です。
最も小さい幼若は幼稚園、小学校の高学年から小若、中学生は中若、高校生になると大人と同じ大若で演技します。
竿燈の技は、流し・平手・額・肩・腰の5通りがあります。
一番難しいのは腰。かなりの修練が必要なんだそう。祭りを盛り上げる注目の技です。
夜のまつり本番では総数約250本、提灯の数にして約1万個にもなる竿燈が一斉にあげられます。最終日の昼には竿燈妙技大会が行われ、団体戦、個人戦など6部門で競います。

◽️This is one of the three major festivals in Tohoku, attracting more than 1.3 million visitors.
It is held every year from August 3 to 6, regardless of the day of the week.This festival has been passed down for about 270 years as an event to pray for a good harvest.
It originated from "Neburi nagashi," which is a ritual to ward off summer illnesses and evil spirits. Children walked the streets carrying wishful bamboo branches and prayed for good health.
The Kanto lanterns resemble ears of rice as a whole, and the lanterns resemble rice bales.
There are four sizes of Kanto: large, medium, small, and young.
The largest, O-Waka, is hung with 46 lanterns, 12 meters long and weighing 50 kg.
The town is decorated with tasteful Kanto lanterns lit by candles.
O-Waka is 12m high, weighs 50kg, and has 46 lanterns with a height of 64cm.
Chu-waka is 9m high, weighs 30kg, and has 64 lanterns with a height of 48cm.
Kowaka is 7m high, weighs 15kg, and has 24 lanterns with a height of 48cm.
The youngest is 5 meters tall, weighs 5 kg, and has 24 lanterns 30 cm high.
Boys are divided into kindergarten, upper elementary, and junior high grades,
with high school students performing in the same large young group as adults.
There are five different techniques of Kanto: Nagashi, Hirate, Forehead, Shoulder, and Hip.
The most difficult part is getting it on the hips. It takes a lot of practice.
During the night festival, a total of about 250 Kanto lanterns and 10,000 lanterns are raised.
The Kanto Magic Contest is held, where participants compete in team and individual competitions.
