Fair enough, Dan, but I´m sticking with the 90D. I've had it for 2 1/2 years, and I feel I havne't even scratched the surface of its capabilities.
The 90D keeps blowing my mind. I was surprised at how much dynamic range the 90D has WITHOUT a log profile. You can’t treat it like raw or 10-bit footage, but it holds up surprisingly well to a complex color grade.
But ultimately, only you can judge for yourself when it’s time to sell.
Yes...true...however...as I say in the video...I will still have access to a Canon 90D to make my CZcams videos whenever I want! If it wasn't for that I would have never sold mine!
@@DanFrullani oh of course! Didn’t mean to imply that you were moving away from it altogether.
How does the R7 compare?
@@Chandler_Goodrich The R7 has more advanced specs....brighter colors but most of all it's sharper...but I can tell it's maybe a little too sharp...therefore it lacks the character of the 90D. Besides that...if it wasn't for the crop sensor, I see the R7 closer to the R6 than to the 90D....and again...the main difference also from the R6, is its sharpness a tiny little bit too much digital.
@@DanFrullani I didn't know a camera could be sharp; I thought that was down to the choice of lens.
@@goldenfrog6EsCoSesrf lenses are sharper then efs but people still use ef on rf systems
After I sold my Canon M6 MII, I was divided on getting a higher end Canon like an R7 or R6 or maybe getting another Micro 4/3 camera as I'm a big fan of the format. Ultimately I got a 90D because the specs were good enough for my needs, I already have several RF lenses in my arsenal, and unless one goes crazy with live view, the battery life on the 90D seems to go forever.
I love 90D
You got me there Dan I thought that was was the only 90D you had😂.
It's ok to sell gear you're not really using. I stopped using my 90D when I picked up the R7, it's just a much better camera than the 90D ever was. 90D is a great camera and I used it for almost 2 years and had a shutter count around 8k when I sold it for 880.00 US. I still see people buying it new even now, but unfortunately am seeing 2 year old 90D's having shutter failures and other problems needing main boards replaced and out of warranty for a lot of people at that 2 year mark. Is hard to recommend the 90D for the price of new with the R7 being a little more for body only and all its great features. Even so the R7 didn't give me some of the wider shots I was looking for with my storm and lighting photography so I passed on the R6 due to the overheating issues and bought an R6mII, which is an amazing camera and it is kinda expensive for a lot of people starting out and a nice upgrade from the R6. I shoot more now with the R6MII than I do the R7, kinda crazy really, just feels better in the hands, better iso performance, great autofocus. It was hard to get sharp shots sometimes with the 90D, and some of the EF glass struggles with the 32mp sensor in it. My keeper rate is much better with the mirrorless and just that, was worth the upgrade from dslr to mirrorless.
Hi Superboy, fabolous
Hey, thanks!
Hi Dan' Yes I know the 90d is a little dated now and I thought you would sell this at some point for better upgrades and color grading at which you are very good at... But for me il be keeping mine as I use it for photos more than video, But you are right about the 90d being still a good general purpose camera as it still gets the job done and with great quality for pics and vid... Great video' And I'm sure whatever you buy will still look great on your videos and photos alike.... Best 73s Dan to you and your family as always from Keith in little old england... Take Care... 😊
Im a complete amateur but I just picked up a brand new 90D for $650
I’d like to keep mine but my room to be used for studio is quite small and I can’t move around freely with a 50mm in it
I am keeping mine. It’s very capable
unfortunately for me i had to sell my Canon 90D yesterday the reasoning was because the cameras 3.3mm mic jack was acting up every time I inserted my rode video mic ii or rode wireless mics to the point where I’d have to push twist and play around with the cable at first i thought i had faulty mics but it wasn’t when i tested it out on a few other friends cameras they worked perfectly fine and when it did work it would only come out the right not the left or unexpectedly while im filming i can assume that everything is good until i come home to look over the footage to find out the cameras mic jack input was so messed up it created static noises couldn’t take it anymore sold it and downgraded back to the legendary 80D now i feel completely relieved and can make videos again comfortably with my mics and not have to worry about what I’ve dealt with will miss the 90D dearly but at the same time i won’t 😂
Am still planning to buy it as my first camera
You' re going to love it!
It’s so good!
Yes, it is!!
I already love it
I rent it for jobs@@DanFrullani

The 90d is great but the R8 is awesome…especially for the factor quality/price.
@@DanFrullani Wow! Thanks Dan. R8 is full frame mirrorless that's why I'm choosing. But Rf lenses price!!!
Hello, thanks for this reflection on the 90D. I shoot video and I am trying to decide if I should get another 90D for my second camera or if I should get the Canon EOS R8 and use 90D as my second camera. What are your thoughts on the R8 for video vs 90D?
I just owned 90d is it essential to use uhs2?
