Erik Esenvalds’ composition, which is based on Sara Teasdale’s poem of the same name, employs polyphony to create the impression that the singers’ voices are softly swaying like a wheat crop in the breeze. This song emphasises the endless presence of nature even while there is war elsewhere in the world by giving the image of a calm,
vibrant world full of life.
