omg a publishing diaries series would be amazing!! I've heard a bit about publishing in the U.S. so it'd be extra interesting to hear about the industry in the U.K.
When you said that the first 25% is world building made me think about how I don't think I have ever gotten further than that when reading it so maybe I should try reading again and get past 25% through it. I want to say that when I first read it I enjoyed it but the beginning was slow and I ended up putting it down and not picking it back up.
The author herself said that if she were to rewrite the book she'd take out the info dump in the beginning. It definitely gets better, so maybe try it again 😊

I'm so glad you read this now! i just read this book this month and i want to gush about it so bad! but i couldn't find any that's new. I totally agree about the beautiful world building and the characters. I kinda struggled on the characters because there's alot lol. Idk why i waited 3 years to read this! maybe because i was intimidated and I thought that it's sci-fi but then the Rephaim happened. Anddd i cried because of the 'rooftop scene' if you know, you knowww. I just related to that part so much. So excited to carry on with the series!!

I've read all 3 books that are available now and pre-ordered the fourth one and I just realised that the ENTIRE TIME I read Rephiam instead of Rephaim ..... Nonetheless this series is absolutely amazing and I am glad you liked it ! ^^

I’d love a series explaining things about the publishing industry, that’s such a good idea! I literally don’t know anything about it. And you got me really interested in this book, I’ll definitely add it to my list! Also, I loved the editing/structure of this video, especially the video chat at the end - that was such a nice detail!
I remember reading this series a few years back and it's definitely an amazing story. One of the first YA I ever enjoyed delving into.

I love your videos soo so much!! I’m going into my first year of uni to study English and Publishing so your ideas for future content, the analytical reading of books and going into the publishing industry would be so nice to see as I have no idea what I’m getting myself into 😂
I read The Bone Season in Serbian a few years ago and didn't want to read it in English because, although I often read in English, I wasn't sure I'd understand some of the clairvoyance termey. So I wantes to comtinue reading it in Serbian but they never translates the rest of the series. Now I have all three books in English and I want to read them soon, but I didn't know there's about to be more sequels and now I don't know if I want to start the seres again and not know whem the rest of the books are going to come out. But maybe I should keep some kind of a reading journl, so I don't nees to reread previous books all over again.
A reading journal sounds like a great idea!! I make notes whilst I’m reading too just in case I forget!

Have you read The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon? I was scared because of how long it was, but I LOVED it! If you liked the worldbuilding in The Bone Season, you will absolutely ADORE it in Priory. It's soooo interesting! Plus there is a sapphic romance and just YES. Highly HIGHLY recommend. One of my favorite (maybe even my absolute favorite) reads of this year!
I loved The Bone Season but thought The Mime Order and The Song Rising were leagues better :)

I struggled visualizing a lot of the world because I've never been to London.
There's just something about British booktubers that make me feel....productive??..I don't know how to explain it. I mean I haven't done much with my day, but watching this video makes me feel like I did something...
This was a book that I just couldn't get behind, due to the slave/master relationship. I didn't think it evened out at all and any attempts at balancing that power just didn't do it for me. The relationship soured what could have been a cool series but I just couldn't do that trope any more.
The Boner Season 😂 This book has been on my radar for a while as I've seen a few people talking about how much they love it. I think you've convinced me to give the first book a go, I'm officially intrigued!
