- I was so lucky in Svalbard. We had the wildlife photography experience of a lifetime with the polar bears. It took us a bunch of days to find them, but our photo session with this beautiful bit of wildlife was just incredible.

Experience of a lifetime~ Bear photo at 8 minute mark is really beautiful!
Man, when you hold your camera out over the side of the ship as you gesticulate in the direction of polar bears, my stress levels go *way* up!
Hahaha, I hope it helps that the video wasn't called "I dropped my camera off the ship"
I would so love to go on a trip to photograph polar bears. Thank you so much for sharing you experience with us.
It is such a unique experience
oh my gosh....you give me heart palpitations every time you point OVER THE EDGE with your camera in your hand and not attached in any way!!!! not even a wrist strap???
Thanks for sharing an amazing adventure with us all 😊
Glad you enjoyed it!
Da Bears - Good ole SNL Reference👍 Love the Bear images, you could say some were Bangers, was that a Peter Mckinnon reference🤔hahaha
Da bears!
Two flashbacks for me. Camera over the water, and Heaton admitting he wouldn’t get you if he saw a polar bear. Reminds me of Greg forgetting he had a radio after spotting a puma in the follow van….
hahahaha, totally. Bloody Greg.
Lovely work Brendan, some heart stopping moments, and not just when the camera and lens get dangled over the side!
Haha, it's funny. Lots of people comment about the camera dangling. When it's me, I don't get phased. But if I see others do it, it freaks me out haha
Great job Brendan , great photos , photographs are fantastic . Looked like an experience to die for 😊
Beautiful images of the Bears
Many thanks
Oh Brendan, you sure captured beautiful shots of the polar bears. Gosh, I'm in total awe of your photos!
Wow amazing experience with those bears.
Some amazing footage but I think my favorite is one no one would expect… the seagull on the ice!! I also really liked the foggy polar bear one.
Great video, was very interested in the 800mm canon lense. I have been interested in these expeditions, but cost is crazy. So get my enjoyment from others until I save my pennies. What date was the expedition held.
Absolute bucket list location.
I was on a polar bear expedition in Svalbard this summer and it was an incredible experience. Your video brings back a lot of memories! Thanks for sharing!
Glad to hear it!
I’m very curious. I love wildlife tours however sadly I dont have all the great wildlife lenses for a camera. I have a Lumix DC-FZ82. I would love to go to Svalbard to see and photograph polar bears but also other wildlife. Could you please tell me if the animals come close enough for my kind of camera? Will I be able to take good pictures or will they be too far away from the ship and out of reach?
Oh wow what awesome images 😮😅😊
EXCEPTIONAL stuff! Thanks for taking me along!
Thanks for watching!
at 4:00 minutes Brendan freaks out every photographer in the world by holding the camera in the most awkward way possible over the sea 😱
I'm just making sure you guys are paying attention hahaha
@@BrendanvanSon “keeping my viewers at the edge of the seat” 👀😂
The ship looks very familiar. One of the Russian professor......... ships?? Great memories.
What a fantastic experience it all was!
Amazing pictures, what a dream!
Looked like an epic adventure!
Wow 🤩 amazing experience and some great photos
Goodluck on your videos
Adore that pose in the third pic of the closer bear
Great video, we are going on a similar trip in a few months. I'm not a very good photographer, and end up using my iphone most of the time to capture wildlife. I do have a Nikon D7100 and a Nikkor 18 -300 mm zoom lens. Will that work or do I need a different set up? Any suggestions are appreciated. Also it looks like a lot of people are using the railing for support, and not using tripods. So would a beanbag be helpful?
Wonderful! What an exciting adventure. When you were outside with your parka hood on, I suddenly thought that you looked like John Travolta! HA! Finding similarities is just a silly observation that we tend to do as humans isn't it? I also find faces in tree bark and animals in clouds, so go figure. No mistaking those amazing polar bears for anything else though! I liked the ice pack pictures too. They really make you think about that part of the world.
Hahaha, looking like John Travolta is the greatest compliment anyone has ever given me.
Nice experience. You could definitely use that 800mm on your Aftrica trips. Carry on. 👍🥂
Yeah, I'm thinking of getting one for Namibia/Botswana next year. I feel like there's enough light to make it work.
Did you get the scratch buffed off in your lens Brendan?
Do you have the Canon R6 or R6II, if so how do you like it. I have the Canon R, I really like the R going to upgrade to the R6 II, one day.
Why have you so few videos these days?
Answers coming soon. But, a new video just went up.
