Nijel Smith - BFA Musical Theatre

NIJEL SMITH is an actor, musician, and videographer from Union City, Tennessee. Nijel recently graduated from Texas Christian University with his B.F.A. in Theatre, emphasis in Musical Theatre. Some of his favorite roles include: Peter in Jesus Christ Superstar (WaterTower Theatre); Yonkers in Gypsy (Theatre Aspen); Malachi in Southern Boys (Jubilee Theatre); Larry in Company, and Max in The Wild Party (Theatre TCU). Nijel served on TCU’s improv group for three years and was also the videographer for Theatre TCU Black Excellence. Nijel has also performed trombone professionally in the pit for Lyric Stage under Vonda K. Bowling. Since graduating, Nijel has bounced around the region, grooving and performing both theatre and music in addition to beginning professional voiceover work.
