This is a great movie. I went to Georgia last summer for a month, and I fell in love with these people and this crazy but fantastic culture!!
Too much to say about this movie... but suffice to say that if Capitalism is the least
unfair system (not arguing here that it is or isn't), the Communist system was cruel
    beyond measure.
Still.... the people are wonderful and have survived for centuries, through worse times than this. LONG LIVE GEORGIA!!

Just found this movie (on DVD) at the library.
It's a pretty good look at how the CIS states live. I wouldn't be surprised if this was Kazakhstan several years ago.

More than economics at issue in this revelation of what Soviert style communism did to not only infrastructure but to the human psyche as well. If one was born into total isolation it would be foreign to rely upon anything other than oneself. This is the condition every human exists in, a community is a luxury not afforded to an apportioning of neccessities by right but by merit. Free power is only found in celestial domains untouched by Mans policies. Otherwise, all consumption has a price.

"They must train the formerly communist populace that, in this new world, customers pay for their electricity. "
I can't even try to express my disgust at the ignorance, immaturity or more likely the utmost hypocrisy of this comment.
Regards to the author. I certainly hope this kind of corporate mercenary journalism is really worth it.
