Everytime I see a video like this I feel completely relaxed and all is right with the world. The Peace that comes from Ted is so rare these days. Ted lived his bliss.
There is Three people i cannot stop listening to, Allan Holdsworth, Shawn Lane and Ted Greene, They all have me in Awe every time..

I am amazed that there are such a relatively low number of views and so few comments on these videos of Mr Greene. He is a wealth of musical knowledge and understands it in a very deep visceral way. In an age where where flash is worshiped, Mr Greene's lessons with his former students shows us what it is really all about.

It is SO nice to be able to listen in on these precious moments coming from an honest and seemingly very humble soul. Ted Greene's 1st 2 books have been a mainstay in my music library from 1976 to this day. These original copies(the ones where T.G.'s wearing a full beard) may have to be replaced with some new editions...and worth their weight in gold! Thanks for sharing these videos of a true master.

I stopped playing guitar for almost 30 years ... to then discover that during those years , I was listening ....Something I was taught as a young 10 year old aspiring guitar player ... So much to learn ...and Ted really did know so so much of music and retaining high accuracy to enable Ted G to be the premier guitar teacher ...Thanks for getting to the root of learning to play

It's great to see this video with Ted with the widest ever guitar chord chemistry in his head during his prime- relaxing and playing the tit bits of blues/rock n roll, peeping a little into the very American pop guitar evolution. Wonder if he was in the evening of his life! I admired his knowledge and skill of playing an endless array of progression and inversions.

This is magnificent. How cool to have a musician with such great ears pulling early rock and roll apart to see how it ticks! I'd love to see this book he was working on, even if it's just fragments and notes.

what a cool review of the different styles and players. Some people describe one of those rhythms as a "flat tire" blues, which I think describes it well.

The chap in the background keeps making these slightly dismissive Interjections….TG is there like a shot with those pithy and insightful observations. And he is of course, spot on. There is beauty and imagination in - what appears to be - the simplest musical forms.
What a great piece of history. Hopefully all this history being captured on Ebay will remain here forever and out-survive the pyramids for generations to come to have some understanding of a great player and the how rock n roll got started. RIP Ted.

here's a tip for all musicians (if not all music lovers period) : listen to your speaking voice.
if you sound like the dude getting a lesson, you're not "listening."
you aren't allowing yourself to hear "sound" as an objective part
of your experience.
this guy sounds shrill and speaks in an awkward rhythm/flow.
if your voice sounds chill and relaxing like Ted's then you're
on the right track.
you might think this sounds superficial, but it really isn't.
Acutely observed, I notice the guy getting the lesson could not allow Ted to finish his sentences he was too concerned about getting his own point across, strange attitude for a student really.
Who is this Nick Stasinos !?? He keeps interrupting Ted's thoughts and demonstrations ! He talks over this genius before he finishes one complete thought. That nasal mouth dope ruins a super fantastic video of the genius of guitar. He's missing all of these important and spot on examples (lessons)Ted just streams though nonchalantly, effortlessly, recalling nearly all the different rock and roll guitar types there were in the 50s and 60s !! If I were Ted, I'd have stopped the camera and kicked the fool out !!
You know Mark we wouldn't even have this video if Nick Stasinos hadn't done it and made it available to everyone. I'm sure when he made it he never expected to post it for the whole world to see. He probably did it just for himself.
He's the guy taking the *private* lesson.
