Love how one guitar is panned to the left and one to the right, and each plays it's own lines which are different but interweaving. I love the guitar on the left... how it's so sparce and a little sloppy, almost on purpose to give the song it's moody sound and feel. Great song.

Sonic Youth did that a lot during production, Thurston Moore on one side and Lee Reynoldo on the other, because both were incredible and doing so allowed the band to showcase each talent individually whilst allowing both individual (i.e. NOT IDENTICAL) lines to play off/ merge with each other, which was a big, if not always obvious, part of the genius behind Sonic Youth's sound.

In the early 80s when I got back from my stint in the Navy I came home, to the west coast, i came home in 79,to Seattle, I have seen Sonic Youth, early/to the mid '80s, and I went partying /welding, down into the southwest, L.A.Tuscon, Phoenix, the Punk bands I would see, new wave, some called the fusion styles, grunge, these cats and Kim, were top notch in my book. innovative.

I like this music, but it makes me sad and nostalgic. In the early 1990s I remember living in my tiny apartment with my part-time cat trying get through college. I had no friends, my only media was my AM/FM jam box with a broken tape deck. This just brings back the self-loathing, it's still here with me, but then, it was of a different flavor. I wish I would have gotten out in the world back then.
