- We give a @IowaFlyingFarmer's Thrush 850 a much needed paint correction and ceramic coating.
00:00 Introduction - Can we take a Luscombe to work?

The paint on this plane was really dull and faded due to UV exposure, PT6 turboprop exhaust, and cleaning chemicals. We started by doing a heavy paint correction to remove all of the scratches, swirl marks, and oxidation. This restored the shine to the paint and made it look like new.
After the paint correction, we applied a ceramic coating. Ceramic coatings are a type of paint protection that provides a number of benefits, including:
- Increased shine
- Resistance to UV rays, and chemicals
- Easy to clean
We used a high-quality ceramic coating on this plane, and based on our nearly decade of coating PT6 powered aircraft, we're confident this Trush 850 will be shining for years to come.
The results of this paint correction and ceramic coating are amazing. The paint on this plane is now shinier than ever before, and it's protected from the elements for years to come. If you're looking for a way to improve the look and protection of your plane, a paint correction and ceramic coating is a great option.

Amazing results on the plane and the video! Thanks again for your work on my plane! Love It!!!
Love to see it an old Thrush looking brand new! Excellent work! Thank you, from our team here in Albany.
This man provided amazing results, didn't he! Now I bet you'll hate to have to put her to work and get her all dirty again! She looks showroom new.
Start my Tailwheel Endorsement in 2 weeks in a 1946 8A 95hp and really enjoying getting a head start with your videos🙏
WOW, What a beautiful job on the paint correction and ceramic coating. Both aircraft look great out in the sunlight !
Thank you very much!
I've always liked that plane - even have an RC model of one. Great job, it looks brand new!
Fantastic work !
Great work sir
Magnificent job as always!
Thanks again!
another great video, your own plane looks great as well
Thanks a lot!
You need a DC-3!
I would love a DC-3
Greetings and thanks for the most recent contribution to the series.
It wasn't mentioned in the comments section: Are you using the "Last Cut" or different compound for the initial correction? Which cutting pads are you currently liking?
Thanks for the ongoing videos!
Last Cut Plus, on Optimum Hyper Wool pads
@@AvianaAircraft Hmm, something special your liking about the Hyper pads v your seemingly standard Rupes...?
Wow that Thrush looks amazing when you finished. How many days to complete it? Not sure what you charged him, but it’s possibly better than the beginning paint job. Mostly because you added more than just a paint job. I run an ag operation for over 25 years and I wish I had known about you.
Unreal job!
What ceramic coating did you use?
Also, did you use Release as your only cleaning agent prior to paint correction?
Cheers!
Amazing! How long did it take you guys?
I'd imagine that is north of $1K for that amount of work? Nice job btw!
Well north 😜
@@AvianaAircraft just had my Grumman Tiger detailed
😛
Well done! Looking for that aluminum coating or can I use regular ceramic on brightwork?!
Are most aviation paints single stage ?
Where/how are you getting your compressed air supply for cleaning pads when you travel?
The light attachment on the buffer is pretty crafty, BTW!
If the hangar doesn’t have compressed air we wet wash the pads
nice job you've done there! are you aware of the risk of using polishes on bare fibreglass? wax or silicone residue can actually creep into the surface making it impossible to repair.
Yes, but this does not contain the types of silicone oils you have to look out for. A quick 1500 grit sanding will obliterate the coating and prep nicely for repaint.
How did you mount the camera for you Luscombe airborn shots?
I actually made a video describing exactly that! czcams.com/video/GhbAtnqF2zI/video.html
