I've been a John Wayne fan since I was about 4 or 5. I had to have an eye op to try to fix my lazy eye and part of the treatment required me to wear an eyepatch. When I saw True Grit he, or Rooster Cogburn, instantly became my hero!
I know I'm late but thank you so much I to am a big John Wayne fan I'm 56 and I grew up with him and all the old ones roy rogers,Roger's, evens, pat and is it Clara bell his jeep Tom mix and so on. I do thank you from the bottom of an old man's heart
Own several style holsters including a movie prop buscadero but most of the time I wearvq Bianchi John Wayne rig ive had since they first came out. Nothing better!
Sir my father,& I would watch the Duke, when I was 7 very fond memories,Now I'm 54 & still a big fan.He was larger than life & a great patriot, thank u sir for ur video brought back memories "God Bless America"🇺🇸
I used to have a rig similar to that when I tried my hand at cowboy action shooting. .45 long colt, Dakota Arms repro. Fine shooter, too. Loved True Grit. "Fill your hand, you sonavabitch!"
Thank you for thanking those that served and payed the ultimate sacrifice. I have many heros and they are those that died fighting for this country. Great vid. I love that belt. I'd like to pick one up for my Colt replica (bb gun) and hopefully use it for a real Colt peacemaker one day.
The Colt Frontier model is an SAA, but a bit different frame from the one popularly known as the Peacemaker. I even have a Daisy Dollar with the Frontier model depicted on it. I recently bought a SAA collaboration between Umarex and Colt to reproduce the SAA Peacemaker in Co2 .177 caliber pellet cartridges. Rifled 5.5" barrel too. On sale, but not so cheap @ $108. Got a pecan brown holster that's a repro from the 19th century one to fit it from historicalemporium.com. They even have the period cloths and such. Should be here Thursday.
Well said brother...well said! Love the John Wayne rig. My daughter is looking to get into mounted shooting and the Colt 45 is the gun of choice. Any recommendations?
Was that little kid a month ago ? Having fun. That is a nice outfit, and you can't do better then JW. Thanks for showing it again. From all us gun loving Vets to you. Thank you and have a good one.
If John Waynes movies are correct, this revolver that is shown is not a replica of John Waynes gun. In the movies, John Wayne is right handed, the rig shown is left handed or referse draw.
Yes batjac i do feel your pain im a lefty to But alas there is hope quite a few manufacturers are making things the safety slide locks and mag releases ambidexturous But i find myself still gravatating to the old colt designs sam colt was a lefty too Its been a subject debate but some argue that the single action army is for left handed shooters Being a left handed shooter i can say i find the saa easier to load and extract spent cases while i hold it in my left hand
I know I'm left-handed..lol..It looks nice because his one in the movies is all scuffed up gives it character, I hope you have a single 45-70 rifle cartridge for the gun belt
I also have one of those gun belts when I lived in Tucson Arizona I purchased one I think it must've been about 1987, it came with John Wayne's trouser belt and it was a square brass trouser buckle you can see it in many of his movies, also it must've been very popular because I've seen it on many Western movies with different stars in Hollywood, back then you could only get the gun holster for right-handed people, it came with a certificate of authenticity from the company in California where it was made.
He shot with both hands in true grit. Famous meadow scene, colt is in left, 1892 44.40 saddle ring carbine rifle is in right. Other movies he shot with the right.
Good stuff !! I don't think John Wayne wore the historically unauthentic buscadero rigs. The gunbelt would be considered roughout leather. I understand John Wayne's Colt was a 38-40. My "John Wayne" rig is made by El Paso Saddlery and I have owned it for many years.
This guy says this is his personal rig, and not Duke's…I have one of the copies made by Bianchi Gunleather in 1981, which copied Dukes own rig. The belt pictured here has cartridge loops which are too short, as are most of the copies out there...
Pete, ,I've heard that too, and I have a Bianchi copy from 1981…Quite a stout piece, and I wear it when working outdoors at my Dad's ranch, with a 44--40 in the holster..
I do like the small compactness of the John Wayne holster & belt. More practical than showy. Some holsters seem to have way too much leather involved than a pistol needs.
When Micheal Wayne was alive I was working for the U.S. Government, and my Boss and I had lunch with Micheal in Beverly Hills. We walked back to his Office, and there was all of his Dads things from his Colt SA .44 not .45, to the Rifle with the oversized lever guard. I asked him if I could look at his Dads Rifle? Oh that old thing, ts a prop! You can have it if you want? I looked at my Boss with a silent OMG, WTF? and he shook his head no! I just wanted to cry!
Probably should have said John Wayne "replica" or "style" belt. And as far as finding southpaw rigs, John Bianchi is left handed. Bianchi always offered LH rigs for the same price.
Trying to determine which Galco holster that is. Is it the 1880’s strongside holster? Which color? www.galcogunleather.com/1880-s-holster-strongside_8_454_1005.html

I thought John Wayne was right handed .
Just received the Chestnut "Duke Style" belt from Hunter - great belt! Thanks for the review.
Still brings a smile to my face years later. I need a set of those grips for my old SAA.
love your holster, i am in the process of making one and this one sure stands out. have a great weekend
Awesome!!!
Thank you.

That's a great looking rig and even better looking pistols. Very nice, the patina makes the pistol. I've always liked that look.
Thanks buddy.
Great tribute/intro! The suede belt really is unique, & unmistakably The Duke!
Yeah i'm glad i found it. Thanks, it's those that serve the lines of red white and blue we have what we have.
I would kill to have that, I’ve been watching the Duke’s movies since I was 3 years old
Same
Another great video. I love the grips. I would like to see the way you make the grips.
WOW I have this one right side shooter with a Uberti cattleman 4 clicks also LOVE THIS RIG IT'S FROM THE SAME COMPANY 🇺🇸👍🏻
love that rig-------really cool
Thanks buddy.
Own several style holsters including a movie prop buscadero but most of the time I wearvq Bianchi John Wayne rig ive had since they first came out. Nothing better!
I had a Hunter holster similar to yours for my Ruger .44mag. Super Blackhawk. They make some really nice leather for the price.
Sir my father,& I would watch the Duke, when I was 7 very fond memories,Now I'm 54 & still a big fan.He was larger than life & a great patriot, thank u sir for ur video brought back memories "God Bless America"🇺🇸
I have the same holster, love it.
God bless brother! Great set up!
Thanks brother! Good to see you back!
@@BATJACJW can you make me a gun belt?? I have Cimarron 45 Long Colt
@@BATJACJW it's a Cimarron pistolero
Nice rig bro . thanks for sharing
Thanks bro.
Nice looking belt and holster as good vid....
Thanks buddy.
I used to have a rig similar to that when I tried my hand at cowboy action shooting. .45 long colt, Dakota Arms repro. Fine shooter, too. Loved True Grit. "Fill your hand, you sonavabitch!"
great job on the grips
Great video I live in the UK were can I get a left handed holster to fit a peace maker
Great video
hey easten he was talking about him being a lefty not the duke but i thought the same thing at first
Love to have john wayne's gun and holster belt rig too. Wonder just how much would it cost me?
Great intro!
Thank you for thanking those that served and payed the ultimate sacrifice. I have many heros and they are those that died fighting for this country. Great vid. I love that belt. I'd like to pick one up for my Colt replica (bb gun) and hopefully use it for a real Colt peacemaker one day.
Hunter leather company brother they make a good one.
BATJAC J.W I gotta look into them
I checked out Hunter leather. Didn't see this belt.
I would need one in 357.
And I'm a South paw also so I definitely feel your pain on holsters.
I would love to see how you guys makes your holster
im a lefty myself ive got a few rigs myself and your rite its hard as hell to find a good lefthanded holster id like to no how much that one cost
Wow thanks man really helps your great:)
Glad it helps you.

i want a virginian rig.a rig like James Drury wore on the tv show.know where i can get one?
fantastic revolver .can you tell me .45 black powder cap ball revolver loud or modern.45 colt ammo loud thanks
Black powder has a percussion type boom compared to modern ammo, 45 is a natural subsonic round so it won't have a ear piercing crack like others.
Nice vid,thanks and mahalo.
Thanks!
Well said brother...well said! Love the John Wayne rig. My daughter is looking to get into mounted shooting and the Colt 45 is the gun of choice. Any recommendations?
Cimarron, They make them just like the old days and is affordable.
how much does one of those guns go for? and do you sell those grips?
Cool stuff, Blcjac J.W.. (Here from Arizona Ghostriders.)
Thanks!
I loved john Wayne.
very nice leather tone.
That gunbelt is as cool as they come.
Thanks buddy.
How is tha galco holster holding up,thanks!
Clicked on the video by chance, didn’t realize it was Batjac at first. Nice
Was that little kid a month ago ? Having fun. That is a nice outfit, and you can't do better then JW. Thanks for showing it again. From all us gun loving Vets to you. Thank you and have a good one.
Thanks buddy.
Do you by chance do custom grips for customers?
Left handed and carry a single action I just had to make myself a holster that hard to find
I’m just wondering are you the same guy from the CZcams videos on the Arizona GhostRiders channel
If John Waynes movies are correct, this revolver that is shown is not a replica of John Waynes gun. In the movies, John Wayne is right handed, the rig shown is left handed or
referse draw.
Barrel length he most often used in movies?
Cool rig. I got mine from El Paso Saddlery
You make the grips? Wonderful.
BatJac do you make the grips and sell them as well? Would love to purchase a pair.
looking for a left hand holster. needs to ride on my right (front) hip draw with the left hand. can you point me to a company for this? gp100
God Bless America Brlother!
Thanks brother.

It is hard to find lefty holsters.
The 45-70 cartridge will fit in your standard 45 LC cartirdge belt. I have them in my gun belt. 12 rounds of 45-70 with the rest 45 LC.
Thanks
good video bro
Thanks buddy.
.... Very Gôôd ton Colt ! 🔫🔫🔫
.... Belle Année 2018 !!!! 💪😉
Nice rig, Batjac!
Thought you might like that.
That style of holster is one of my favorites.
You have a good Memorial Day?
Yeah it was nice stayed home relax.
Just came upon this, left hander for sure.
Opening words need to be printed, framed and hung in the hallway of every school.
Nice copy rig. Yeah so many holsters right hand only. The buckle fastener is called chicago fasteners. Very nice episode lefty.
John Wayne was right handed and this is a lefty!
Right!! John Wayne's gun n collection is n a western Oklahoma museum!!
He shot with both hands in true grit. Famous meadow scene, colt is in left, 1892 44.40 saddle ring carbine rifle is in right. Other movies he shot with the right.
If u notice also the patch is on 1 eye then the other, i think in the meadow gun scene when editing they reversed the images in part of it.
John Wayne e gary cooper lendas dos filmes de wester .
today I bought my first 357 magnum revolver!
Nice!
Andre
So....
YOU ~ ROCK ! !
Thanks buddy.
So John Wayne used a suede leather belt?
Viewed your JW video. Price of gun belt? Where do I get your replica colt guns?
hunter leather
I always thought that was a canvas belt..didn't realize it was suede.
I had a question on how you made your gun look like it's been there done that?
rust remove and rust to the point it can't rust.
+BATJAC J.W lol ok thanks
Do you sell any of your grips?I would like to have a pair that isn't aged quite as much,...Like that second pair....
I do sell them. Right now my grip stuff is moving to a new location i'll soon be making more once it's set up.
How much would you want for a set?
Good stuff !! I don't think John Wayne wore the historically unauthentic buscadero rigs. The gunbelt would be considered roughout leather. I understand John Wayne's Colt was a 38-40. My "John Wayne" rig is made by El Paso Saddlery and I have owned it for many years.

Your right Richard
Just think if he would have ran for President.
Was john wayne wrong handed?
I was told by a guy who made me a JW holster that his belt was actually a suade money belt converted into a gun belt.
Pete, ,I've heard that too, and I have a Bianchi copy from 1981…Quite a stout piece, and I wear it when working outdoors at my Dad's ranch, with a 44--40 in the holster..

WOW very cool.
Steven McElroy
Steve…NO!!!…Politely, you should have told your boss to pound dirt…I know, but what a shame...
Probably should have said John Wayne "replica" or "style" belt. And as far as finding southpaw rigs, John Bianchi is left handed. Bianchi always offered LH rigs for the same price.
Lane Dexter Say something positive! In addition, you need to listen with your ears rather than your mouth because he stated it was like John Wayne’s.
Get a grip guys,=. He does not sy this is John Wayne's personal gun rig. Just states it is his rig made the same as John Wayne's.
90% of the video is the belt and holster, tell us about the piece.
Those grips look like they have been in a room of cigarette smokers
The man never said this was Duke's rig! This is his rig and just like the one Duke wore. I'm a lefty and fellow fan of the Duke.
How much for a set of the aged grips for my rooster ?
They run 35 will be on ebay soon watch for video coming soon. Another batch has been made just gotta get them to seller.
@@BATJACJW thanks I’m waiting!!
If you listened he said it was HIS John Wayne rig. Not John Wayne's actual rig.
And on top of that I'm sure John Wayne never carried a Cimarron LOL but people will bitching about anything
the holster shown is for a left handed draw
Trying to determine which Galco holster that is. Is it the 1880’s strongside holster? Which color?
www.galcogunleather.com/1880-s-holster-strongside_8_454_1005.html
Was John left handed?
Sorry the Duke was right handed not left
Hunter holsters made the original holster for John Wayne. They are still in business! www.huntercompany.com
Was John Wayne left handed
John Wayne was right handed.
Its the guys copy
IM Lorneing too make holster western
Odd,that it's a LEFT-HANDED rig,...since he was Right- handed.
Why's it odd? Is this mans name John Wayne? No? Then why would that be odd?
VERY nice gun and holster. But I could have sworn he was right handed .....
John was not left handed as that gun rig is............
Too bad you didn't know about Bob Marshall of Bob's Leather Works. He could have made you a left handed version of that gun belt
Image is reversed. John Wayne was not a lefty.
the finger groves are in the polme of your hand
Not The Dukes...but he knows that...The Duke's was a Colt SAA...
