This is what I've missed! TKOR really went down the tubes since you and Callie left
They didn't leave, Calli was fired for being gay and Nate was fired for being too smart and the audience preferring him.
And, yes, TKOR went downhill without them. I dropped my subscription and stopped recommending them to my friends and family.
I'm so glad Nate has continued and I love every episode they do together - they really are an outstanding team.
Nate carries grants legacy as well as Callie, she should be involved in your channel and I subscribed here because tkor fell apart, I unsubbed to them
So Callie's pansexual and they threw her out, if grant were alive right now he would have strangled whoever responsible to death, and yeah I hope his ghost haunts them in their sleep because of this
Neither I nor Calli believes that's why she was fired.
@@Simbacu Uhhh... You need therapy. I do think that they shouldn't have fired Nate and Callie, but having people strangled to death by someone who's dead? Wtf?
This video really made me feel like I'm watching TKOR back in 2018-19. It has that "I didn't know I wanted this information" kind of energy. But in a way that.. we as everyday people can actually experiment with.
You were handed that crown, and I don't believe it ever came off. You're still wearing it true and proud.
Over... 'there' they're wearing the equivalent of a burger king crown.
He truly is keeping Grants memories alive along with keeping our own curiosity alive. It's a shame that the actual TKOR seemed to try make us forget both and just monopolize on his legacy.
I love this comment. He truly carries the real crown
I miss the old king of random :(
It's sad as it reveals things that some people don't want to hear and people don't want to start a conflict.
I know TKOR and even Nate himself don't want to hear this but it's reality.
The reality is Grant chose Nate for a reason. I watch Nate's channel and it literately feels like a revitalised old TKOR aimed for everyone (Sorry Nate, i know you got your own theme and don't want to be compared to the other channel, but your theme is a good theme and it's by no means a insult), with interesting information i never would of known and have fun learning it. I mean this is a video about one aspect of superglue... absolutely nothing else, yet it's punchy, interesting, fun, educational and has character. If i watch TKOR now it feels like i am watching a nursery kids show. I unsubbed to TKOR the other day after over a decade of being subscribed... but it had grounded down to "the history of the Crayon"... it just felt cringe, desperate, uninventive and nothing interesting. It lacked fun, punch, desire and character. This video is only 8 minutes long and that includes a paid promotion... yet is more entertaining than the 20 minute long video about the history of the Crayon...
It just shows that TKOR is going a completely different direction to Grants original desires and Nate has the creativity and skill that appeals... of which Grant clearly recognised.
Sorry Nate, i know you don't want the drama and you would disagree with aspects, but you, Grant and Calli were the magic of creativity and all 3 had the character we all want and like/liked. I have nothing against anyone else.
The channels have gone their own ways now, I know this message will break hearts, make people angry and be debatable... but that is not my goal or intention, my goal is simply to tell the truth. I don't do loyalty to Brand... i do loyalty to individuals, education and fun. This is the internet... not a monarchy or flag.
Now, i have got that out, i wont be "comparing" the two again. New channel, new theme but same awesome person.
@@babalonkie thank you for giving the truth
Nate has been doing tremendously on keeping our curiosity of random alive. Whether he wants to admit or not, He was the best pick of anyone else by The King of Random himself. And he carries that torch. He's does what he likes to do and show us, and takes time for these random experiments. Best of both worlds. While TKOR channel wants you to forget Grant ever existed, Nate while never mentioning, keeps our memories of Grant alive.
Hey Nate! Miniaturists like me use baking soda with super glue. It really makes a crazy good bond / layer for painting over. Turns chipboard into a craft wood feel!
Man I'm so excited to see Nate get that spark back. He's growing in confidence with his own channel and I like where it's headed. I do find it sad that TKOR is considered a company though. Look at their recent content. It doesn't appear to be doing well. Most videos are under 50k views from months ago. I think the current hosts will adapt though, that's how it was when Nate first started.
Finally, TKOR content that I've missed. Sad to see where it ended up. Glad to see you and Callie kept going!
Does Callie have a CZcams channel?
After your TKOR super glue episode changed my life I even went on to do a presentation for my chemistry class on how suer glue and bases (nucleophiles) react.
Nate, I spent many hours carving (sculpting) different kinds of stone (soapstones, alabaster, etc.) and could patch/repair using some of the stone dust with crazy glue. I also started adding metal highlights by carving a recess, filling it with fine metal filings (copper, brass, sterling silver), then saturating it with crazy glue. Lots of ways of adding to fine particles of material.
I'm a woodworker and I sometimes work with SA glue and catalyst. I've always wanted to pour entire bottles of each into each other and see what happens. Thanks, Nate.
I think nate is finding his own path. Im just glad im here to watch while he does. He is free to do whatever he wants
If that's Experiments or passion projects or just something he's really into I'm here for it
The cinnamon / superglue reaction is super interesting from a chemical standpoint. Hope that someone like NileRed can ellaborate on that sometime!
the cinnamon just allows more surface area for the glue, most super glue catalyzes with water/moisture. That’s why it dries so fast, it just reacts with water moisture in the air. Superglue is also an exothermic reaction, so when that mucch glue dries at the same time, it releases a ton of heat and burns the cinnamon.
Nate is the only guy online who uses the letters NFT in his branding that I trust xD
Used to work at a Hobby Shop when I was a teenager. Needless to say, I had access to large amounts of CA glue. We would get very experimental with the glue. One of my favorite things to do was see how the different grades of glue reacted to dumping some kicker in the bottle and screwing the cap back on, shaking it up and giving it a toss. So much fun at the time seeing the bottles "explode" differently.
I got a burn once using catalyst with super glue, the catalyst bottle had a (unbeknownst to me) leaky cap and when I went to spray some of it onto the superglue I was using, it dribbled out onto my hand and right onto some superglue that was on my hand! Talk about painful (and very surprising).
"i'm not entirely sure they'll all be safe" - love it :)
This is the Nate I came to see on the internet! That looks really cool in slow motion! You're awesome buddy!
I have been using baking soda instead of cinnamon for a while now, and it works great.
6:07 Am I the only one that sees a two faced creature with an arm hanging out? Metal AF! 🤘
The final "How crazy was that?!" brought back some wholesome "That's pretty neat" memories. :)
This is the TKOR content I've been missing for so long!
Nate has become the TKOR.
Am I the only one that wants to see nate mix blue with the catalyst and yellow in the glue and see if it makes a green "foam"?
man you are an absolute vibe, i only found this channel recently and i missed watching you make videos with tkor, im super glad youre still creating, love your stuff ❤️
I love that you’re bringing back the OG days of The King of Random. Honestly I’ll be straight up, I hate the transition “TKOR” took, it’s not the way it used to be but you do it just like Grant did, we will always miss that guy❤❤
The thing with Super Glue, no matter the size of the bottle, every bottle is pretty much single-use. Unless you are super careful with the capping and such, the the tube just hardens a bit after opening. So I almost always get the smallest size even if it costs the same as a slightly larger size.
This is the way. I don't really want worry about all my superglue going hard if I don't use it for a bit.
Keep up the good work, now we got the best of the new and old Nate all on the same channel :)
Great vid Nate! Glad to have a full video again!
Just props to Nate for full-sending the skin care sponsor.
Love you and your videos!! Thanks for the great and educational content!
This is some content I've been waiting for! Love the other stuff too, but you are always fun to watch when doing experiments like these
So glad to see another full video from you! You've been missed sir
"Not entirely sure they'll all be safe." The epitome of a popular CZcams video.
I build models as a hobby. I use super glue and “kicker” all the time. The thin glue for general purposes and the thick “gel” glue to fill in seams and gaps. Baking soda also works well and pencil lead aka graphite is even harder.
This reminded me of TKOR so I went back and looked at their channel. You are killing it. Your doubling their views easy. I like many dropped them after you and Calli were asked to leave. Keep it up!
Loved the classic feel of this video 👌 Nostalgia hit hard
It's funny watching you now only bevause when you were first with Grant saying you were taking over the channel I remember saying well I'm not watching it anymore amd now here I am YEARS LATER now watching your every video on your own channel and seeing you grow the whole time is awsome
I bet that instant reaction colored super glue would work perfectly for a ocean diorama, it looks a lot like coral!
I used thin super glue and graphite powder to repair an item and it worked great, but was a bit messy (my fingers had black smears on them for a day or so).
Super happy that Nate is doing fun science again !! :)
Hey Nate Love the content and I love that your keeping grants legacy alive by being yourself and teaching the world about science and different experiments and how they work
I'M Happy to see you making videos again! 😊👍
Never missed an episode glad to come across you on tik tok so had to come straight over loved the videos you did
I am so pleased that this channel has had such great success
Another great video! This one was very fun and interesting, I'd like to see more like this
used to sell some stuff called q bond and it was pretty solid but for the price baking soda was just as good. Would absolutely love to see some experiments on this vein like: what makes the best catalyzer? which brand glue and types of powder makes the hardest plastic? can you make a knife out of the results? thanks for the upload.
This is good clean wholesome fun, thanks nate 🤘
As a Utahn, your influence is incredible! I miss you being on TKOR, but love that you’ve continued on this channel!
Man, this video feels like home! I love watching Nate doing 'What if' science stuff that I'd be way too scared to.
Love the ad! Weird to say but it actually made me look into the product haha
That was awesome, Nate! Great stuff! 🥰🤯
Loving this video, it looks super cool just like that skincare device. I mean, you are giving us discount on a beauty tech device - I just can't find one reason not to go for it 😍
Nate. One of my favorite channels. 'Cause he plays with dangerous stuff so I don't have to. But I still want to.
Great video! I have the Ufo 2 and can really recommend it. Since using it my skin has improved a lot
Same! Even my husband steals it from time to time. He thinks I don't know, but I do.
This is just really interesting. Never knew i needed to know this.
The steam and fumes from super glue burns mucus membranes so if you do try this do it in a well ventilated area.
As expected, you could literally buy a lifetime supply of this (they sell in 2oz and 8 oz bottles as well) for a tiny fraction of the cost per volume in those tiny tubes.
I've been buying 2 ounce bottles of the super thin kind from BSI (the best!) for years. At room temperature it has a shelf life of a year or perhaps two before it starts getting thicker and not reacting as well; at that point it's not long before it will harden in the bottle and become useless. But if you seal it in a baggie with some desiccant and put it in the freezer, it will last for five or six years, and you can put small amounts in a dropper bottle to use as needed.
I like using Baking soda in some places and, when I'm gluing tabletop minis to their bases, i like putting a small layer of PVA glue down before adding the figure with Cyanoacrylate on its feet. it can give the base some funky detail
I put wood glue on my glue-ups with a tiny bit of CA glue here and there, spray the accelerator on the CA spots, then clamp together by hand for a moment. No big clamps needed.
Keep hustling Nate, you da man
Nate! If you know somebody who does acrylic work... it would be really cool to mix the cinnamon/super glue in an acrylic mold... then polish it!
Watching Nate mix toxic chemicals is almost as satisfying as watching him blow stuff up.
Water as a vapour, steam in other words, is the best hardener.
YES omg I love this!!! Ahhh nostalgia 🤗
Love the OG TKOR feel of this vid. Keep it up!
So I did a similar experiment, I mixed two different types of super glue together because I was almost out of one and I figured its all the same chemical nothing bad will happen. I mixed gorilla super glue and normal super glue, apparent one of those is a catalyst for the other because the heated up and cured as soon as I mixed them. I think the gorilla super glue uses something more flexible cause most super glue I've uses has a hard plasticy feel to them but the gorilla stuff feels almost rubbery. I wonder how its made.
Nate:"Some steam" = Me: "Toxic vapours". Anyways good to see youre keeping up TKOR's legacy🤘
Great video! This totally reminds me of how Grant used to do it!!! Can’t wait to see you do some weekend projects
I would like to see this expanded on, in particular baking soda and lead (like from a pencil) and I am also curious of practical ways of applying it to surfaces and strength of bond.
And for anyone that does try this DO IT OUTSIDE, the catalysts that are used and the combo of superglue can give off a toxic cloud of smoke.
Finally some of that TKOR content we've been missing!
Love this Super video.
Hello Nate. I know I’m late but I have a modification request.
Could you repeat the test of putting said glue into the fish tank…. But breaking a bottle underwater similar to how you, I believe it was you, did with vacuum-internal pressure bottles?
Only safety consideration would be the creation of a small explosive as the outside hardens and the inside just steams and builds pressure. Safety glasses are key :3
That’s all, I hope you’ve been going ok and thank you very much for all the work you put into educating the world. Only suggestion I would make is include a mistake XD. I got nothing to critique haha. You’re to good Now.
Yes- this was typed up at like 3am on a phone. Apologies for typos
Where I work we have 4 cup bottles of glue, funnily enough I have never used the glue and the bottles are still very full!
This was really cool experiment
Fun video, thanks!
the ultimate collab
Just wanted you to know Nate, that Grant would be happy you are continuing his legacy. I am here to support you and your journey.
Cinnamon also contains a chemical (I forget which) that reacts with acrylics, not just acrylates, and will etch, or frost, acrylic if left in-contact with it for extended periods of time. I believe, with enough extended contact, cinnamon can cause acrylics to break-down.
Nate, use your laser to engrave your knife handles, then fill with aluminum, copper, brass powder. The drop in that thin cyanoacrylate. Sand flat to get a nice metal inlay.
You have interesting choices of background music 🤘
NFTI pretty "nifty" Nate 👍🍻
Thank you for continuing Grant's legacy where TKOR(dumb name change) couldn't. Really appreciate what you're doing. Keep up the great work!
wow nate that warm water and borax surprised me. it cool to see you making knives an doing odd experiments still
Oddly enough the foundation of my home is polymer encased cinnamon. Stronger than concrete and resists pests.
You could put something like a rod on a ice cream spoon mecanism or by adding gear to change the ratio for faster effect or a sliding incase gear with a button on top with chain between gear to make a linear movement.
This really felt like I was watching an old tkor video, great job Nate.
Finally! I found your channel! I always wondered were you went after the KOR
best man in the world! period ^^
I enjoyed it. thanks for the vid.
You know theres a thing called "activator"? It hardens superglue in about 10 seconds, I use it Daily at my job, and its very handy.
That is this. Just not an aerosol form.
Try catalyst (menthol ethanol ketone peroxide) and powdered brown paint pigment. Important note - PPEs needed.
just reading the title made my eyes and nose burn. been building RC planes wit hthe stuff for 20 years
That was really cool 😮
Nate you never fail to amaze and be helpful. Yes men need skincare.
Nate, I like your content very much, please keep going and ignore the mean comments, you are the best.
"Or near people that you like..." 😂
I practice the art of lapidary and I might try making cinnamon stones with some super glue. With that in mind, Nate, have you thought about using that super glue with a catalyst to create a knife handle? Could be an easy dip type situation.
Not Nate from the internet, Nate the best
This is the TKOR that my kids started to miss when the sponsorships took over.
Nice to finally see something besides a short.
Man I wondered were you went. TKOR sucks any more and moving to New York really really messed it up. So glad to find your channel keep on trucking. I think the more people they added really messed the show up I liked it when you had the hole ball of wax.
This was definitely not quite as good as I hoped... But still amazing! I just had some unrealistic hopes that it might be a touch more explosive... 😂
Great video as ever. Hope you're well.
Nate pulls out superglue and starts talking about it
Me" sniffs air" why do I smell superglue, I'm in the bathroom home alone?
This was like watching someone change differential fluid then magically smelling gear oil😅
looks like if you 'd mix milk and an acid like 24% vinager. speaking of it, that might make a cool demo too. wonder if you can make that reaction instant like the super glue one. maybe not.
