- In today's episode, we explore the Sigiriya rock with a beautiful looking viewpoint, followed by visiting some locals and spending the day with them!
We always try to travel to the unknown to listen to the local's stories during the crises.
Formerly known as Ceylon and officially the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, Sri Lanka is an island country in South Asia. It lies in the Indian Ocean, southwest of the Bay of Bengal and southeast of the Arabian Sea; it is separated from the Indian subcontinent by the Gulf of Mannar and the Palk Strait.
As we travel the world, our main objective is to show you guys the country's authentic culture and see the unknown. We are simple people travelling on a budget with our savings to make our 💵 last as long as possible. As we grow, we shall give back to people in need.

Protests are going on all around the country against Sri Lankan government due corruption and dollar crisis. But, hope that won’t affect your travel and though out your journey.
Did you visit Kandy area? There are alot of places to visit. Ambuluwawa, Temple of Tooth relic, Nelligala, Kandy view point, Pinnawala zoo and elephant orphanage, Peradeniya botanical garden and Sembuwatta lake are some of the most attractive areas in Kandy district. Try visit those places if you have get a chance.
Yes we visited kandy! We didn't stay long. Our travels haven't been effected! Its going great so far :)

Magical tropical land
Poppadoms, served with most rice and curry meals, made with urid flour. Sri Lankans eat a big rice meal every day,, sometimes twice. There are monitor lizards as well as crocodiles, they are really interesting too.

Seeing the reality is difficult, we feel there pain but they still smile which makes it even more magical. People in sri lanka smile no matter what happens. There strong people, some live a simple life even with there struggle and there still happy! Happier then most Europeans and they have everything.

This looks like a prehistoric site even before there was a temple there. Maybe the indigenous people also lived there centuries ago.

One of the ancient king's sister has lived there according to that boy...
Usually these caves are dwellings of prehistoric peoples. Some caves have been excavated and in one cave found a skeleton which is 25 000 years old. That's the oldest human remains found in south Asian region.
@@kumarimapa7595 Yes, the island does have a lot of places still to be excavated, too. This one was super interesting as it just looked so suitable for very early human habitation, a kind of natural iplace of safety, but maybe also for animals too! It would not surprise me if it was a Vedda’s groups home much more recently than that as well.
Balangoda Manawaya is the well-known prehistoric humans lived in Sri Lanka.

Petrol liter is around 254/- but when you buy from a shop you are expected to pay little more which is fair instead of staying in a queue price of petrol in petrol stations is still lower than neighboring countries like India , Pakistani ect.. this is due to global market price increase sometimes there is no choice you need to increase as well

Don't misguide in PAKISTAN the petrol is very cheaper.its 150 PKR.but yes the oil prices have increased globally

True Sri Lankan hospitality is not charging money for foods they offer to guests. But this family appears to be one who struggles with life. Anyway, the current difficult economic situation makes them to charge for every thing which is not our identity.
And mind you that when you travel by motor bicycle try to fill the gas (petrol) from a filling station (petrol shed) because they only charge its normal accepted price which is Rs. 254 for 1 Letre (but since yesterday the price went up to Rs. 303 for 1 Letre.) When you purchase Petrol from local shops, they charge you double or trible the normal price.
They were such amazing people! We are also learning as we go about the petrol prices and protests.
You must visit very beautiful little england cottages in nuwara eliya and GartMore Falls.
All the religions present in the world teach to help each other, but why is there so much Hunger in the world?
