definitely need a Buff to protect your face because even if you think your hat is going to do the job it isn't going to because of the mirror reflection of the UV light off the water ,which actually shines up onto your face negating the shade that the hat provides.

Great video! I’m off for my first flats trip to Los Roques and I was interested in your comment about flats boots. Could you please recommend what I should buy?

    • @AardvarkMcLeodFlyFishing

Hi Clare, for Los Roques I dont normally wear the full lace up boot, but more the wetsuit bootie. The ones I use specificaly for there are a short ankle neoprene wading boot that used ot be made by Orvis, although I believe Snowbee make a very similar one. Most of the wading at Los roques is sand beaches or the pancake flats, and as you are getting in and out of a boat a lot I like to be able to pulll them off easily so my feet dont over heat!

I am a massive fan of these videos and, having watched this one, I bought the black tights for bonefishing. They certainly reduce drag when wading but there is one thing to be aware of. They are horrendous for mosquitoes even when soaked in Permethrin. Black appears to attract the mossies, they 'bite' straight through it, and it is difficult to see them on the black when they land on you. While on this topic, it would be TERRIFIC, if you did a video on what to do to avoid being mullered by mosquitoes... You must have heaps of experience in dealing with them!

Samuel this one was a Finsport, but these days you need to look for one made by Snowbee which is a copy as I don’t think they make the Finsport one any more..

I feel like this video could have been better if he actually unpacked his bag, layed eveything out and then packed it up while going through everything he was talking about. Also wearing all of the outfit he was talking about while having snippets of in action footage as done throughout this video. I think It would have made this vid more engaging and informative for the audience. Great video nonetheless!
