- I found them all... the penalties against Emiliano Martinez! All the penalities in official matches. Hij speelde voor veel verschillende clubs in bijvoorbeeld de Premier League, Championship en de Primera Division. In totaal kreeg hij 33 penalties tegen hem. De meeste waren in zijn tijd bij Arsenal in London en bij zijn huidige club Aston Villa. Ook kreeg hij er twee tegen in de WK finale met Argentina tegen Frankrijk. Kylian MBappe wist twee maal te scoren.

Tbh saying that this vid proves he’s overrated as a keeper is just wrong. First, he’s saving above average for pens. Second, a keeper shouldn’t be judged on their penalty abilities alone, but rather their in game saves. Thirdly, remember that he’s playing with Aston Villa’s terrible, terrible defense

To those of you who say Dibu is overrated or unimpressive in penalties, let’s do some maths. I will also include his 13 penalty shoot-out stats, which shouldn’t have been omitted (why are penalty shoot-out kicks less worthy for some? I donít know). We must analyse two items: guessed penalties and saved penalties.
Out of these 33 penalty kicks:
- Dibu guessed 19 (57.5%)
- Failed to guess 14 (42.5%)
Probability of guessing the side of at least 18/33 penalties: 10.8%
Adding the remaining shots, for a total of 46 penalty kicks:
- Guessed 28 (61%)
- Failed to guess 18 (39%)
Probability of guessing the side of at least 28/46 penalties: 2%.
Regarding saves, the possibility of the GK saving a penalty (shooter misses are not included) is about 17.4%. Out of the 33 PKs in this video, Dibu saves 7 (21%, including goals after rebound), and if we add the other 13 from PSO, Dibu saves 13/46 (28%). The probability of the goalkeeper himself saving AT LEAST 13 out of 46 penalties is of only 11.65%.

If you are a goalkeeper, and you have to try and save 46 penalty kicks, the probability of saving at least 13 of them (not including shooting outside the goal) is only 11.5%.

Well, if we put these penalties in order, we can see his real growth. This guy mostly made right guesses in the later half of his career and saved a lot of them. The only times he's ever been beaten are either from very powerful shots or panenkas, which are hard for any keeper to defend. Not to mention, Aston villa's defence sucks.

Never ever in the history of world cup that a GK that conceded so many goals went on to win not only the Golden glove (given for the least conceding gk in maximum games) but the best gk trophy also (which is given for all the season performance not only WC).
