The Seven Ages of Man by William Shakespeare
All the world’s a stage,
And all the men and women merely players;
They have their exits and their entrances;
And one man in his time plays many parts,
His acts being seven ages. At first the infant,
Mewling and puking in the nurse’s arms;
And then the whining school-boy, with his satchel
And shining morning face, creeping like snail
Unwillingly to school. And then the lover,
Sighing like furnace, with a woeful ballad
Made to his mistress’ eyebrow. Then a soldier,
Full of strange oaths, and bearded like the pard,
Jealous in honour, sudden and quick in quarrel,
Seeking the bubble reputation
Even in the cannon’s mouth. And then the justice,
In fair round belly with good capon lin’d,
With eyes severe and beard of formal cut,
Full of wise saws and modern instances;
And so he plays his part. The sixth age shifts
Into the lean and slipper’d pantaloon,
With spectacles on nose and pouch on side;
His youthful hose, well sav’d, a world too wide
For his shrunk shank; and his big manly voice,
Turning again toward childish treble, pipes
And whistles in his sound. Last scene of all,
That ends this strange eventful history,
Is second childishness and mere oblivion;
Sans teeth, sans eyes, sans taste, sans everything.

In this drama of life, each one of us plays seven distinct roles; these are the Seven Ages of Man.
Which Age do you find yourself in?

Thank you 🙂 your voice 🙌❤🙌so do a poem ~ thank you!
Thank you for reuploading this, but I wish to ask, what happened to the original? I liked that very much. The voice and tune along with the reading was amazing
This is nice, but i had a personal connection with the first version, you did not have to make the video private. Some of these videos we have saved and visit every so often just to get our lives back together again when things become difficult, making the videos private takes that away from us, that relatability i had with the first version is gone. It really helps me alot when i am down, please bring it back.
Thank you for this. Beautifully rendered.
All the above
"If one only wished to be happy, this could be easily accomplished; but we wish to be happier than other people, and this is always difficult, for we believe others to be happier than they are" - Charles Montesquieu
So true, we should only compare ourselves to the person we were yesterday.
Great lines

Actually... i believe I'm the happiest man alive... i even fear sometimes that the sas times wilm eventually come and i won't be abke to handle it.
Sad*
Man is the only animal that refuses to be what he is. What good are Wings without the courage to fly 🖖
Animal?
@@avg_user-dd2yb The human being is a mammal from the hominid family. Don’t tell me you didn’t know you were an animal...?
Animal...... that refuses to be.... very interesting statement.
@@olympusentertainment2638 They ain’t refusing it because most of them simply don’t even know it. Still lost in their holly books.
@@olympusentertainment2638 They don’t want to understand either that the concept of race is a social construct. The science prove clearly that breeding between different races are impossible in the entirety of the animal kingdom, which is the major proof that the human race is a single race as a whole.
Ahhhh
This make me want to write about
“The memory of me”
Now I am old and grey,
Had fair share of events of life
Through thick and thin
Tasting joy and happiness
Shocking betrayals of trust
Pitching pain and agony
Broken hearts many times
But still survived and still here
Now I just want to count goodness
And precious gift of life
Highest thrill was 72 birthday on the Mt. Everest base camp
Brave enough to travel solo any time and any place
It is my reward from all there was
That I had to endure
So I count my blessings
this is sad
not sad, not sad at all. this is triumphant. as Charles Bukowski wrote "You can't beat death but you can beat death in life, sometimes."
Love from top of the world (Nepal) ✌️
always welcome 🙏
@@zten8116 I did Annapurna base and Mt Everest, yes I will go back again to explore more of mystic and beautiful mountains, promise you nothing will stop me less my body gets frail and weak
@@leiacha2482 god bless you💕 🤗😊 take care..
Dear self,
You are not early nor late,
You are right on time,
You are on the right track in your life,
You are not in a race,
You are in your own pace,
Let them talk,
Let them mock,
Let them assume what is not,
Do not worry yourself,
Do not compare yourself,
They have their own path,
And so are you,
Do not let yourself astray,
Pray and have faith,
Things will be okay.
🙏🙏
Thanks dude. Needed that. Stay blessed and don't stop seeking your dreams.

i like how the line "sans everything" fades away, at last!
sans? what does it mean bor?
bro :((
@@MrEu67 It means "without".
How perfectly spoken of what happens to one during his lifetime.
Live your life and forget your age. Those who love deeply never grow old; they may die of old age, but they die young.🔥
Whoop!
Well said....
Totally irrelevant here.
VERY WELL SPOKEN!!

Hi I J P,

I remember this by heart. Beautiful. ❤️
Poetry is the language of the spirit.
💯👌🏻 legit
Somewhere between soldier and justice, trying to dissect and subjugate everything. Growing into a knowledgeable man, precise in my speech, and quick to listen. Slow to speak, but bold as a lion. Mine eyes see through, although not quite accurately, humbled by what I find. Passionate, selflessly caring, loving thoroughly, though quite stark at times.
I became a soldier rather quickly in life the lover in me faded as my heart broke into pieces of strength and learning from these experiences.
I remember this poem from high school. Brought back some memories
I heard this poem quite a few times before, but it's one of those which you can come back numerous times.
Yes! I always do
Speaking in the stages of young adulthood, I believe that once you reach those fading years, when your senses start to weaken; as long as you have contributed towards something, made something, helped someone, then your years have been wholesome, and you can truly leave with peace
VERY WELL SPOKEN

James Smillie! What a voice!
I’m a lover at my 29th year of Life. A lover sans the one.
That makes us two
I know this poem years ago, when I was in ninth grade. I still memorize it until now. And I really love this poem❤️
Oh, my friend" he said, "we are older but gained no wisdom, for in our hearts the dreams were fulfilled, in our minds we knew not what we gained, a noble hope or cause was not the end-all for us, I have no hope to think that you following the same road will lead you anywhere but with we failed heroes."
Fantastic , a couple of years ago I was lucky enough to go to the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford-upon-Avon and watch As You Like It . When Jaques recites the seven ages of Man it is one of the most powerful things I have ever seen
I memorized this for school. A very enjoyable experience, just to know I was quoting one of the greatest literary geniuses of all time.
The beauty of the words and the sound touched the depth of my heart🥺 💕

Incredible voice work.
These channel is so underrated
What does the rating has to do with the content. This what these channels are trying to teach to stop seeking approval from outside and yet you are hear only talking about eating rather than what you gained. Look at it again
