It was so nice to see an update on your toys. ❤ We have a 3, 4, and 5 year old. And we have limited our toys down to Magnet tiles, Duplos, play food, animals, one stuffy each, cars, silks for dress up, babies with blankets, wooden people and minimal dollhouse furniture... I recently decluttered the train tracks which broke my heart. They didnt play with it. And ive always loved them. ❤
Thank you! You have a great selection of toys. I understand the feeling of being sad about decluttering. I was attached to a little dollhouse, but my kids have never played with it in the 3 years we've had it. Letting go was very hard for me. Currently, we are building our collection of Magna-Tiles.
Im a mom to 8 kids. The toys that have stood the test of time are wooden blocks, animal figurines, legos and duplo blocks. My 3 oldest are adults now and we still have the same duplos and animal figurines. My three youngest are very imaginative and im always in awe of the games they come up with non -toy items. And Of course playing outside with a stick and water and dirt and wandering in the woods is their favorite activity. ❤
Thank you! Honestly that's amazing mama! I am number 4 of 8 myself. Grew up on a farm, our toys were baby barn kittens and sticks.
I think I want to get rid of everything and get a handful of core toys that will stand the test of time similar to those. Then tell everyone to invest in school, wardrobes and sports for our kids.
I only received toys at Christmas or a Birthday gift. I recall playing with baby dolls, a play oven, paper dolls, and my brothers and I would build wonderful block cities because Santa brought us new blocks every year and we had a giant box of those we used with Fischer Price people. My brothers had Hot Wheel cars and tracks.
Mostly we played outside and made up games.
PAPER DOLLS!!! oh my goodness I forgot about those. I grew up having paper dolls too! What a great childhood you had.
I'm a minimalist mom of two toddlers. I totally agree.
Honestly my husband and I think we may try an even more minimal toy summer! Just let the kids create outside and with art.
If your kids like natural, get some wooden dolly pegs to draw, style, create. Use trunks of trees to create a tree house for toys, use salt dough to create pottery or other things they can make. Paint pebbles or glue them to make peebles pictures. Use boxes to make toys or costumes. Do science with them. The best toy is a child's imagination. Get natural materials, sticks, pine cones, stones, shells, wash them & air dry then have a natural basket & see them explore. Use flowers, some are edible, make a forest salad. Learn to forage. My son loves creating, we do science, we created a puppet theatre with a box, castle and even a transformer costume with boxes, be creative. It sounds like ur kids are bored. Think outside the box. Try origami. X
