agree ako dun sa negative review mo. i was expecting more hehe sana mapanuod ko ung uncut
I think hindi twist na kapatid ni Mercy si Rigel. Ginamit lang talaga siya ni Molly. But halata talagang accomplice sya ni Molly kasi biglang pumasok out of nowhere kaya nahulaan namin. And di rin kami nagkamali na parang lesbian si Molly kasi there's something na sa scenes nila ni Mercy umpisa pa lang. Sa ending naman, I'm satisfied with it. Hindi kasi siya literal kaya siguro maraming na-disappoint. From the title itself "A Very Good Girl" at paulit-ulit na sinasabi sa pelikula, tumatak na yun sa character ni Mercy. The moment na nadamay na pati yung bata and pinatay ng tuluyan ni Molly ang adoptive Mother niya, dun ko na-realized na demonyo nalang ang gagawa nun. Si Molly is a representation of our inner demon. Kaya evil siya buong film kasi siya ang humahadlang kay Mercy to be a good person. Ginawa lang tao si Molly pero yung character niya represents all the bullshit in our lives. Kaya I love the ending. In terms of psychological, maihahalintulad ko siya sa Horror Movie na "Smile." So ayun, I'm satisfied with that ending especially with "Dito Ba" playing as background music. 😩 And we waited until the end credits kasi may nagsabi may scene pa and na-justify talaga yung title nung movie. 9.5/10

Tingin ko si Kaori, di talaga stepsister ni Kathryn. Matalino si Molly/Ms. Dolly, kaya naghire sya ng kunwaring stepsister nya, tingin ko lang 😊

kulang sa opulence.. the visuals could have been more convincingly rich..

It's not the justice system bakit di tinanggap yung recording, its because it is illegally recorded which obviously can't be admissible in the court of law. I believe this is a common knowledge na bawal ka mag record without the consent of the person your recording especially now na research is implemented in public high school, our mentor always remind us that if we want to record our thesis defense so that we could review we must ask the panel and get their permission 'coz its illegal. So, Philo not knowing this very common knowledge is bs, if you want to have revenge especially someone powerful I believe you have to research a ton especially our law if you want her behind bars and get justice. Kaya I'm very disappointed with the movie kasi ang ganda nang build up, it made me want to root for Philo then fell flat kasi ang chaotic nang last 30 minutes nang movie dami gustong sabihin at patunayan but absolutely miss the mark.
Yes its fruit of the poisonous tree kaya inadmissible siya. Lesson there kasi was being foreshadowed in the start. Yung karatula na nakalagay yung "Justice is not ours" pero yung research point mo is I think may iba kasing sinasabi yung movie. Justice was only served the moment Mercy stopped taking it into her own hands. Kaya poetic justice siya at the end. Its not one dimensional revenge movie. It's saying something
The movie reminds me of a psycho-drama movie na "Gone Girl". The way the story was told is di talaga siya direct to the point. As the movie went on Kathryn's character got darker and darker dahil sa sobrang galit niya. She literally had blood on her hands. She looked increasingly different. And yung 2 different persona ng character niya si Mercy and si Philo. You can see that there's still this vulnerable side to her- Mercy, and there's this bottled up anger and thirst for revenge-Philo. Na all the while sh was becoming the very person she hated.
Umabot sa point na akala niya na lamangan na niya si Molly at eto na yung revenge na hinahanap niya pero sad to say is di niya nakuha yung revenge na inaasam niya. Naubos lang siya on her quest for revenge. Figuratively and literally to the point na savings niya naubos. All the while akala niya she was one step ahead of Molly but only to realize na Molly was taking "pleasure" in ruining her life ( naalala mo yung scene with the anito sa huli- remember that it was a "gift" from Philo na parang trojan horse ang symbol sa beginning ng movie, only to be something that gives Molly pleasure in the end) She can never really win.
For me namamangha ako sa sobrang daming symbolism at message ng movie from the cinematography, to the props, to the dialogue, to the costumes and make up na para bang may sinasabi bawat eksena. Kay for me it's definitely one of the best movies na napanood ko from our country. Sure there's a lot to nit pick and to point out na this and that could have been done better. But overall I was impressed.
Pati sa acting ni Kathryn in fairness. May time kasi when Philo was sucking uo to Molly para makapunta sa inner circle niya eh na she seems plastic and forced. That was exactly the point. She was trying to be someone she's not. Tapos yung mga eksena na lalabas yung anger niya makikita mo talaga sa mata niya yung galit. Grabe. Galing siya for me
Pero I agree with the pacing problem though. Ang sarap himay-himayin yung movie. Naghahanap ako ng ibang reviews eh wala ako mahanap. Baka pag tinopak ako gusto ko din gumawa ng honest review. So far puro negative ang nakikita kong reviews which is fine. Gusto ko lang sana to dive deeper sa inner workings nung movie. Sa symbolisms and messaging na pinaparating niya.
@@louise4531 you're definitely right, napakalaki ng potential ng movie kaya nga super immersed ako first hour eh, kaya lang siguro medyo bitter ako pagkatapos kasi taas ng expectations ko coming into the movie.
@@louise4531 same sentiment kaya nga ako napadpad dito kasi gusto ko makakita ng reviews or comment regarding sa movie kasi I'd like to know if I'm the only one feeling robbed and in awe at the same time hahaha super kunti lang kasi ng mga reviews na nakita ko sa IMDB at Rotten Tomato.
