Thank You!!! By far, the best historical account I've ever heard. An amazing couple to be sure, the lecture has prompted the purchase of Libbie's books.
Thank you for uploading this and making Allen civic life accessible to all! I really, really, wanted to attend this, but as usual, I was too darn sick.
Custer never came to Houston. He purposely took his troops north through cold spring so that they would not get out of hand in houston. He then went from cold springs to cypress then to chappel hill then to hempstead.
Excellent content!! 😃 Thank you!! Custer did make Brigadier General @ 23 I Heard because he was a Brave, but Not Reckless Solider!! They Called him the Boy General!! Did you read her three books? Libby didn't have a mean word to say about anybody. Custer's rep was kept alive by his troops that served with him during the Civil War.
@@31terikennedy I personally haven’t read her books. I just thought the narrator didn’t have all her facts in order. I have read Custer’s book, including those by other authors. Thx
@@MTknitter22 He did, with a Cheyenne, he's also mentioning in some of his writing during the trips on the plains, that during that time, most of the officers had an affair with a native woman, and that's why he was recognized at the little big horne, and he was not mutilated just like the most. @@davidescozzi9885 I believe it was a daughter not a son. I understand a lot of the native Americans who where at the battle knew that one of their fallen foes was Custer because they had seen him years before. they also knew that he was a good warrior for the white men that's possibly a good reason for them leaving his body alone.

Yes and this kills me. Also her accent. I am southern myself so maybe that's why but she seems nervous and childlike. I don't mean to insult her...I love history but??
Wonderful presentation! Thankyou!!
This lady who tells the story is so ♥️adorable!
This is such a great presentation... Thank you so much...
Fascinating!

My half-wit son was telling me about this.
custer was married to a dime piece, brains and beauty!
Where is the evidence of the affairs? Newspapers only?

@@mrdave777 You should, they're a good read. You will be surprised.
so Custer would have been about 26 when the war ended
ELIOT READER: Okay, and George was about 2 years older than Elizabeth, who was born on 8 April, 1842...
Thanks...Be careful, and stay calm...
Custer had left her a $5,000 life insurance policy which in today's $ is way over $100,000
never know that
Custer was 23 when he became a brevet general not 25 as stated
Didn't Custer have a native son or two ?
I don’t think so.

Yep
He spent time in Washington because Grant forced him back. Holding up the campaign
Libbie
He sounded like a compulsive person drinking then gambling then power 🤔🤨
Did you personally know Custer?
She gets information twisted
I found this interesting. But many facets far from the writings and speeches of others. Thumbs down IMO.
She probably would've ended up killing him anyhow
😂😂😂
I like this lady but many of her statements are wrong. :)
Yup, rife with inaccuracies.
