Girl gets swept by massive waves (Queen's bath, Kauai)

  • Fast forward to 0:35 to see the person. Anybody from Kauai know who this is?
    Some background on this video was that the girl had intentionally went in the water to get hit by the waves. Apparently it's what the locals do, and that's when I started recording. All the waves were massive, and tourists were in shock and already telling her to get out, but she was just laughing playfully with her younger brothers (who were in the water earlier too) with her mom present. The last three waves were bigger than what she had even expected however.
    There was a big crowd of tourists, right where she was at. At 1:08 mark, you can faintly hear people yell "get out of there!" again in the background. The tourists were panicking but the mom didn't seem too shaken by it.
    When these waves are calm, even a person who can't swim very well (which is me) can jump in. It's like you're swimming in an aquarium with all the sea life below you. The girl in here was a local to Kauai.

PAY ATTENTION TO THE SIGNS AND LISTEN TO THE LOCALS. The ocean could care less where you're from or how tough you think you are.

She didn't hang around in the more dangerous spot for too long. Don't have "fun" for too long before making a move. It wastes too much energy.

    I know her that’s Britney and she wasn’t being a daredevil. She was playing frisbee on the beach and had to pee but didn’t want to leave so she tried to go discretely in the water. She didn’t realize the tide was coming in and when she saw those waves she remembered that happening on an episode of Baywatch so she did what David Hasslehof did and then got out and finished her frisbee game, not a big deal.

    Oh, nothing here to be concerned about - if the girl lost her footing and was swept in by the incoming powerful waves she could rely on the cushion effect of the vertical rock walls to stabilise her! 😂🤣 People are quite oblivious of the power of water. We have had tropical rain here for 5 days, 8" or more per day, and many roads have fast running water across the causeways in the rural/urban hinterland low hills. That often happens, sufficient for residents to be familiar with the risks of crossing through floodwaters. Even the continual warnings on radio and television have not dissuaded 3-4 locals from losing their lives and dozens more from failing in their efforts to sneak through and calling on rescue services to protect their lives from their own personal stupidity.

It's always tourists and people who have no idea how the ocean works or anything, and they have the audacity to tell me that ever since i was 9 years old, that's 21 years they've been telling me im gonna drown out there.
      Well, I'm still here, and not only did I not drown but I have saved about 15 lives while surfing out there. I don't feel in any danger whatsoever, in fact I have come closer to dying while driving a vehicle or being a pedestrian than being in the ocean. The ocean is predictable and always does the same thing, people on the other hand...

      @@KurtRomboughThe ocean is extremely predictable, way more predictable than anything else in life, it always behaves the same way. I have spent close to 35 000 hours swimming, surfing, kayaking, riding waves. The ocean always behaves the same way, you can't convince me that it's not the case. Any waterman will tell you the same thing.

      @KurtRombough Před 6 měsíci

      @@RedLineShortFilms While I understand what you're saying, there are many things in life that are more predictable. Flat ground for example. :P
      I appreciate that while intense, surfing is a pretty safe sport. Waves and swells in combination with rocks are much less safe. You have a LOT more experience than I do with the ocean. But that doesn't change the fact that people die in the water. Experienced or not, accidents and mistakes unfortunately happen.
