Remember Snowball, Rusty, and Luna, 3 of the 23 dogs HSI rescued from the dog meat trade? We recently caught up with them. See how they're enjoying their new lives in their forever homes.
I'm 14 years old and I'm very glad that there are many people that care about animals and not use them for money. You guys inspired me to join my local animal shelter and see many hopeless animals become so happy at the end!!!!

This was an absolutely awesome ending all you people are the real heroes in this world-people who save dogs are the greatest of the great-you guys rule and give dogs their lives back-give all your puppies all your love and treat everyday like its their last and when its their time you can always be assured that they could never have had a better life than from what you gave them-that's what I take from every dog I have ever saved and found homes for-dogs are the best creation God ever made no doubt!!

I'm hugging my puppy. We found him abandoned at the park by our apartments a little over a month ago. I've hardly ever gotten the chance to adopt from a shelter because there are so many strays in the city.
The meat market must end. It is so bad on how they killed them. They torture them alive. I am a dog lover.

I agree the dog meat market should end. Dogs have evolved next to us for centuries as companions. Also thank you for caring about a animal in this case a dog and speaking up. The only thing vegans do is to critisize when you fight for dogs. They should be happy if they care for all animals.

Someone abused their dog, I tried to take the dog away from him but he wouldn't let me. I called the animal rescue shelter to take away the dog, he wouldn't let them. It was only after a meat market proposed to give him money to butcher the dog, that he finally let the dog be taken away. I was sad to hear that the dog died now. The meat market works like this: someone kidnaps a dog from their family home, and the meat market gives them commission. So many of those dogs from the meat market was previously owned by someone else. Dog kidnapping becomes a favorable job because of the money they get from it. So we should stop this. It's not only torturing animals, it's also stealing animals.

Hubby Ric is retired now, but during his days as an active merchant seaman he often sailed to the mid East/Far East, to what are known as 'non-pet' cultures. The American ship guys ALWAYS fed the strays and helped out whenever they could. A few of the stories I heard were just dreadful. Not just mis treatment, neglect and cruelty toward dogs but, also mules, and camels. Dogs have a special place in our hearts and because we cherish them as companion animals, to us, the idea of eating them is appalling. And, when one considers: this type of indifference toward animals, this casual cruelty in some cultures is merely shrugged off - that's creepier still.

Does the group who saved dogs' from meat trade in South Korea know that there is an annual festival there where dogs are BOILED ALIVE because "the meat is more tender." Is there any way that this horror for the dogs used in this way to be stopped?

Heartbreaking...Thankful these were saved and to see them in their new homes is priceless. It just saddens me that these where the lucky ones....there are still so many suffering. It is very painful when you think about it.

Thank you so much for saving the dogs and those who adopted them. I was born in South Korea so I know (to some extent like how dogs get killed etc) about the horrible dog meat trade. Bad news is still evil people are out there killing innocent dogs for money and food and ignorant people who eat them, but good news is that a lot of Koreans do not support dog meat trade as before, so hopefully someday there's no more dog/cat meat trade anymore in Asian countries.
