Thank You to all who helped bring us these Makah stories! I have made a few hikes through that area in the mid- 70's, exploring from Neah Bay around Cape Flattery, a visit to the Makah Reservation, then back to Shi Shi, the Ozette digs, petroglyphs, and Cape Alava, camping as we went, then back inland bordering the Ahlstroms Prairie. The archeological dig was only just beginning back then, but the students there were great! We slept in in the wooden bunk bed lean-tos that bordered the trails. There was a near Cat 1 gale on the coast on one of those trips, and I loved it! Nature at its finest! It's an amazing region, full of peace and beauty, and endowed with spirits that kept our voices mostly quiet along the way; not out of fear - but reverence. The forests feel like a living colony, encompassing all things, where 'green' is more than just a color, but feels like a life force! Occasionally I had the sense of being watched, but I wouldn't tell anyone if I HAD seen a Bigfoot, for the same reason that Ms. Castle said; they certainly don't need any hassle from a bunch of city slickers and scientists, and there's a fair argument to be made that WE are disturbing THEIR land. Humans made their choice over half a million years ago, so the best we can do is declare "détente", and leave our ancient Brothers alone. (I imagine they'll let YOU know if you're getting too close!)
I've been out to this area. It is very remote and surrounded by very dense forest that go up to the coast. I drove through the two lane highway to go south and it was creepy even during the daytime.
I too also believe that they are real I live in Washington state we are in a valley with mountains surrounding us and I've lived around Native Americans most of my life and everyone I talk to Native or not Around here believe in Bigfoot or Sasquatch

I lived in the wilds of Raymond, WA. Way out in nowhere. Absolutely beautiful country! Would have to get up and gone to work by about 4 am. Every morning I was overwhelmed by someone or something watching me, actually watching most of the time. Always benevolent feeling, never scary. Felt comforted that I was being watched over especially way out there.

When I lived in Washington State, I tried to spend as much time as possible over on the Olympic Peninsula and the Neah Bay area because there is so much beauty in the land there. I hiked multiple times along the Hoh River and camped overnight there. I never saw or heard anything unusual, but the vastness of those forests and mountains, along with the abundance of natural food sources convinced me that something like an elusive Sasquatch could easily live and hide there. Also, I really love hearing stories like this from the Makah elders. I met a few people from the Makah tribe over the years and all of them were wonderful people. Thank you for sharing your experiences/stories/knowledge with the rest of the world.
I'm a Indian from HOHRIVER Washington and I seen a sasquatch cross the lower hoh road 1130pm at night during a storm January 8 2022 he looked directly at me and took a step and a half and was gone into the forest he looked exactly like the sasquatch in the Patterson film from bluff creek California in 1967
Wonderful testimony. I know that when they begin to throw rocks, it's because they want you to leave. I have had them toss pebbles towards my tent before, I would presume to ascertain whether I'm asleep or not. Also, once I hiked out to a quarry and felt they didn't want me to enter, I turned around and began to hike out. After about two hundreds yards of hiking back out, I heard a huge rock crash back at the quarry. I believe it was a confirmation that I was correct to follow my impression and "Thankyou!" It was a hot day and I think that the one I call Mr. Ed was soaking in the pool back there. LOL

I was born in Port Angela's. My brother has a friend that is Makaw. Bruce has never spoke of it but I know they exist. Just not ready to speak of it... The first woman is so beautiful in the way she speaks
I lived long time in the woods alone with my 2 dogs, her sounds on tape I feel were real, I have encountered similar. Not shy at all either. Many a creature visited our remote little cabin that people would not believe. They never attacked us or caused harm. All the bears and wolves and coyotes were also respectful of us and I never carry a gun or feel a need for one.
Ha, I was wondering this too actually. I also though that when we have described any supposed mental abilities that operate with non verbal communication, we have described it as using a "third eye" or "our minds eye". If these apparent great apes did indeed communicate this way, or even simply had such a high understanding of non verbals that it appeared that they understood what the elder was saying, it would make sense to try and describe this to others in a philosophy that shows this. If you just hear the description of a one eyed giant ape...that's one thing, but if you get to hear the full tale then suddenly the one eye becomes clearer as a potential metaphor for describing the non verbal communication in the encounters. Ancestor tales are rarely singular in their metaphors and Native Americans are masters of this. That said, here in Europe our Celtic tribal history is often strikingly similar and we too have the same apparent creature in our history. Yes we have the Sasquatch or "Wild Man" or "Wolf Man" legends with all the same ape like behaviour but that's not all. For example, it was said that when the children of Danu reached Eire (Ireland) the Fomorii were already living there. The descriptions of the Fomorii aren't consistent and ever changing through time, but curiously in the earlier accounts it is often described as a supernatural giant sometimes adorned with antlers, a stags head and....one eye. Multiple genus of hominids? Similar stories from a time of closer connected ancestors? metaphor for a lost memory? philosophy for describing an unknown creature or event? No idea but I find all the simple parallels fascinating personally :)

I just stumbled upon this video - I actually knew Darrell in the Army back at Fort Ord in the early 1980's. And I recall asking him if he ever had any Bigfoot experiences. I remember he said he did about something when he was a little kid. When I saw him in the video and saw the Army veteran's cap he had on, and saw his face, I wondered if it was him. Then his name came across the bottom of the screen. I need to reach out to him - great to see he's back home.
Those sasquatchs in Hoh River were mimicking owls and Coyotes, I knew it was sasquatchs, could just feel it in the air, it's was late October 2021, they were mimicking baby owls, owls nest in spring early summer, not in the fall. Then the next winter January 8th 2022, I seen him cross the lower Hoh road 1130pm during a storm, he looked right at me approximately 30 yards in front of my truck, he took a step and a half and was gone into the woods headed south. Guarantee no lie , I know what I seen A SASQUATCH!!! He crossed the lower Hoh road about 150 yards from where I heard them the previous October. They sounded similar to what Harriet recorded there in the video you folks made.
I'm in northern Ontario and had a very similar experience and it started with back and forth wood knocks then I got blasted in my left ear by an owl call. I had a special boulder I visit, I call it grandfather rock...last week I went to visit it. I was surprised to see a structure built at the trail entrance, like a teepee with a long thin tree that was bent over the structure and it seems to put pressure on one of the logs. The feeling I got when I saw it wash through me powerfully. I know it's Sabe.
@@jerrybartlett273 Hi Jerry...I would not say it was a X structure...if it was what would that mean to you? The structure is more of a teepee with a live long thin tree bent over top of it which seems to put pressure on it all. What is interesting is that soon after a portion of the trail breaks away down towards the creek. It is a mud slide. It is potentially dangerous so I wonder if they are attempting to stop me from walking there in case that portion of the trail breaks free and slides. I say this cause last fall a massive pine has fallen, blocking the otherside entrance of the trail entrance. I also noticed a single, deep large print in the forest floor just off that section of the trail. Actually, as I walked through that teepee structure I did notice that many smaller branches seem to block one side of the way to walk through and half of the other, seemingly directing me or turn me away from the slide if I follow the way it's arranged. Anyhow, ya I'll look up what you mentioned Jerry about these people. Thanks and anything you are knowledgeable about and care to share I'd be interested.

I've heard that exact same sound coming out of the swamp I live on the edge of. To explain.... I live on the edge of an area of swamp land which is in NW Central Fla and it's part of what is called the Fla.Corridor which runs the whole length of the state. I was walking my 80lb female Catahula/ Australian mix dog on a trail going back into the swamp for around 300 yards. One morning we were at the back of this trail which runs in a circle leading back to the road. We were walking at a good pace when that exact same sound comes from deeper into the swamp. It was the first time I heard this sound. It's possible it was not the first time but it was the first time my old girl and I heard it and she stopped dead in her tracks ( as I did ) and looked in the exact direction of the swamp which this sound came from. She came to a dead stop and looked off in a direction... which was very far from normal while on the first walk of the day. On another occasion this creature was sitting back in the swamp in the area just a few yards from my side porch at my home on a moonless night and unfortunately at the time my only flashlight was dead. Because of that fact I now have several working flashlights. And now back to the unfolding facts... I could hear it's respiratory system sounding bigger than the bears I've heard off to a distance . This creature was just calm cool and collected while watching me . I could not see it but could hear it breathing in a manner that was not a aggressive towards me. I moved off the side porch and I walked out front for just a few mins and I could not hear it move . I returned to the my side porch and I expected it to still be in that same spot but when I returned to my side porch the breathing sound was gone. It moved away from it's location without making any sound at all. This area has grass but many trees with the ground covered in leaves and twigs everywhere which should make it impossible to move without making a sound which should have been audible from this short distance (maybe no more than just 20 yards ) where I walked to. That was very strange and even more strange than not being able to see it because it was back in the blackness of a moonless night when you can not see your hand right in front of your face. So it could see in that total darkness enough not to make a sound when it moved away. And you can be sure... I was glad I could no longer hear it breathing back in the blackness of that night. The strangest part of this incident was when I came out onto my side porch to walk my small dog and he didn't even bark at the direction this breathing sound was coming from and this breathing sound was at a level I now he could hear. He did act a bit strange thou.... like he was confused as to why he was outside.... Not normal at all because he always leaps off of that porch when he's taken for a walk. It was like he was scared to move and avoiding a look in the direction of the breathing sound which I have zero doubt you could even hear from the road out front of my home. It creeps me out big time that I decided to go ahead and walk my little boy and not turn on my heels and go right back inside. It makes no sense at all. But that's the facts.

The people telling these past events are speaking with genuine authenticity. They have no reason to lie. The truth they bring is ridiculed enough by closed minded individuals who stay in front of their TV's, Who never go into nature. The non- believers want more/better proof, well if you saw a Giant beast that you thought was a fantasy would you calmly get a camera out focused it and took a good picture or would your flight or fight instincts kick in bc you may be in a lot of danger. Been there at reservation about several years ago, I highly recommend the museum. Before I left to visit I checked to see if there was any stories in regards to sasquatch and there was. I suggest people to respect the tribal lands signs that if it says don't go through here, don't go. I also suggest that if you hike don't go alone, I did at the beach where the cabins were and I had a Erie feeling to return back to the car and did. I enjoyed my few days there.
Like I have always said the Native Indians have the greatest courage and wisdom of all people in the forest.. Hunters and Woodsman you could all learn from them. You pursue them and you will face the consequences. The Sasquatch has lived in harmony with native peoples for centuries. My great grandfather was the first quaker to communicate and trade with native indians in a town called New Market in the province of Ontario, Canada.
Incredible vocalizations recorded on the Makeh Reservation... Whether its Sasquatch or possibly even the Dogman, listening to these sounds reverberating so intensely they are definitely not human !
Pete De Poe - in his book, “King Kong Pete,” about his days with the groundbreaking Native American rock band, Redbone, grew up on the reservation as a child (available on Amazon). He talks about the existence of Sasquatch on the Rez. When asked if he believes in Sasquatch, De Poe’s response is, “He’ll, yeah!”

Yrs ago, I did an Inipi Ceremony in the deep woods in Pa.The Land belonged to a Tribal Elder that did the ceremony. A group of us were supposed to stay out several days/nights after Prayers and preparing ourselves. We had to sit up awake all the time. .......But the first night, I was hearing in the distance mountains sounds like a mix of cougars & gorillas calling back & forth to each other....Next morning I asked the Elder what it was, but he refused to tell me. ..Of course I suspected what it was, but I didn't continue discussing it......I didn't do another night there.
Inipi is the Lakota word for a sweat. Who was the holding it in PA because that's not Lakota territory. It's not traditional for men and women to sweat together so it's probably better that you left.
It is good that you are sharing this with us. I have always wondered what experiences that the Indian Reservations have had with Sasquatch, because they should be experts on them.

I love hearing interaction stories from native Americans. They've seen much more of these elusive creatures than the rest of us. I wonder how many stories have been lost, from the pre-colonization days, about interactions with hairy man and other woodland creatures that may have been driven to extinction long before they could be documented by "civilized" society.
It's amazing to think there could be a different kind of people living in the woods. I wonder what language the old man spoke to them in in the first encounter, and man those vocals in the second encounter! Mad range and power.

Used to hear those sounds as a kid before the elk were killed off. Now the elk are back and am waiting for the sounds to return. Also came across a group of them elk hunting the park boundary in 2001. They made clacking sounds and threw rocks at me.

We are decendants of people of Ukrainian & Polish heritage. The 3 face to face encounters at our home in Connecticut were enough to convince us these things are nothing more than animals that live I the woods. They were not at our home scaring the daylights out of my sister for any good purpose. They were not there to help us with our taxes, they weren't there to cut our lawn and they certainly were not there to teach us how to develop clean energy sources. We also saw they came out of the woods and went back into the woods, they did not climb into a spaceship to rendezvous with the Mothership, they didn't arrive through some time warp or portal or any other such nonsense. For the trouble they caused at our home in Connecticut, my Father 82nd Airborne Paratrooper kept a rifle and a box of ammo by the kitchen door, and if these things came back anymore, they were going to end up in a display case at nearby Yale University in New Haven Connecticut or maybe UCONN.
I was thinking the name "One Eye" was that often they're poking their head out around a tree and only one eye is visible. Especially around a campfire

Those aren't wolves or coyotes that is 100% a sasquatch. Same exact screams we heard in Michigan when I was a kid.

I just stumbled upon this video - I actually knew Darrell in the Army back at Fort Ord in the early 1980's. And I recall asking him if he ever had any Bigfoot experiences. I remember he said he did about something when he was a little kid. When I saw him in the video and saw the Army veteran's cap he had on, and saw his face, I wondered if it was him. Then his name came across the bottom of the screen. I need to reach out to him - great to see he's back home.

Those sasquatchs in Hoh River were mimicking owls and Coyotes, I knew it was sasquatchs, could just feel it in the air, it's was late October 2021, they were mimicking baby owls, owls nest in spring early summer, not in the fall. Then the next winter January 8th 2022, I seen him cross the lower Hoh road 1130pm during a storm, he looked right at me approximately 30 yards in front of my truck, he took a step and a half and was gone into the woods headed south. Guarantee no lie , I know what I seen A SASQUATCH!!! He crossed the lower Hoh road about 150 yards from where I heard them the previous October. They sounded similar to what Harriet recorded there in the video you folks made.
I'm in northern Ontario and had a very similar experience and it started with back and forth wood knocks then I got blasted in my left ear by an owl call. I had a special boulder I visit, I call it grandfather rock...last week I went to visit it. I was surprised to see a structure built at the trail entrance, like a teepee with a long thin tree that was bent over the structure and it seems to put pressure on one of the logs. The feeling I got when I saw it wash through me powerfully. I know it's Sabe.

@@jerrybartlett273 Hi Jerry...I would not say it was a X structure...if it was what would that mean to you? The structure is more of a teepee with a live long thin tree bent over top of it which seems to put pressure on it all. What is interesting is that soon after a portion of the trail breaks away down towards the creek. It is a mud slide. It is potentially dangerous so I wonder if they are attempting to stop me from walking there in case that portion of the trail breaks free and slides. I say this cause last fall a massive pine has fallen, blocking the otherside entrance of the trail entrance. I also noticed a single, deep large print in the forest floor just off that section of the trail. Actually, as I walked through that teepee structure I did notice that many smaller branches seem to block one side of the way to walk through and half of the other, seemingly directing me or turn me away from the slide if I follow the way it's arranged. Anyhow, ya I'll look up what you mentioned Jerry about these people. Thanks and anything you are knowledgeable about and care to share I'd be interested.

I've heard that exact same sound coming out of the swamp I live on the edge of. To explain.... I live on the edge of an area of swamp land which is in NW Central Fla and it's part of what is called the Fla.Corridor which runs the whole length of the state.
I was walking my 80lb female Catahula/ Australian mix dog on a trail going back into the swamp for around 300 yards. One morning we were at the back of this trail which runs in a circle leading back to the road. We were walking at a good pace when that exact same sound comes from deeper into the swamp. It was the first time I heard this sound. It's possible it was not the first time but it was the first time my old girl and I heard it and she stopped dead in her tracks ( as I did ) and looked in the exact direction of the swamp which this sound came from. She came to a dead stop and looked off in a direction... which was very far from normal while on the first walk of the day.
On another occasion this creature was sitting back in the swamp in the area just a few yards from my side porch at my home on a moonless night and unfortunately at the time my only flashlight was dead. Because of that fact I now have several working flashlights. And now back to the unfolding facts... I could hear it's respiratory system sounding bigger than the bears I've heard off to a distance . This creature was just calm cool and collected while watching me . I could not see it but could hear it breathing in a manner that was not a aggressive towards me. I moved off the side porch and I walked out front for just a few mins and I could not hear it move . I returned to the my side porch and I expected it to still be in that same spot but when I returned to my side porch the breathing sound was gone. It moved away from it's location without making any sound at all. This area has grass but many trees with the ground covered in leaves and twigs everywhere which should make it impossible to move without making a sound which should have been audible from this short distance (maybe no more than just 20 yards ) where I walked to. That was very strange and even more strange than not being able to see it because it was back in the blackness of a moonless night when you can not see your hand right in front of your face. So it could see in that total darkness enough not to make a sound when it moved away. And you can be sure... I was glad I could no longer hear it breathing back in the blackness of that night.
The strangest part of this incident was when I came out onto my side porch to walk my small dog and he didn't even bark at the direction this breathing sound was coming from and this breathing sound was at a level I now he could hear. He did act a bit strange thou.... like he was confused as to why he was outside.... Not normal at all because he always leaps off of that porch when he's taken for a walk. It was like he was scared to move and avoiding a look in the direction of the breathing sound which I have zero doubt you could even hear from the road out front of my home. It creeps me out big time that I decided to go ahead and walk my little boy and not turn on my heels and go right back inside. It makes no sense at all. But that's the facts.

The people telling these past events are speaking with genuine authenticity. They have no reason to lie. The truth they bring is ridiculed enough by closed minded individuals who stay in front of their TV's, Who never go into nature. The non- believers want more/better proof, well if you saw a Giant beast that you thought was a fantasy would you calmly get a camera out focused it and took a good picture or would your flight or fight instincts kick in bc you may be in a lot of danger. Been there at reservation about several years ago, I highly recommend the museum. Before I left to visit I checked to see if there was any stories in regards to sasquatch and there was. I suggest people to respect the tribal lands signs that if it says don't go through here, don't go. I also suggest that if you hike don't go alone, I did at the beach where the cabins were and I had a Erie feeling to return back to the car and did. I enjoyed my few days there.

Like I have always said the Native Indians have the greatest courage and wisdom of all people in the forest.. Hunters and Woodsman you could all learn from them. You pursue them and you will face the consequences. The Sasquatch has lived in harmony with native peoples for centuries. My great grandfather was the first quaker to communicate and trade with native indians in a town called New Market in the province of Ontario, Canada.
Incredible vocalizations recorded on the Makeh Reservation... Whether its Sasquatch or possibly even the Dogman, listening to these sounds reverberating so intensely they are definitely not human !

He talks about the existence of Sasquatch on the Rez. When asked if he believes in Sasquatch, De Poe’s response is, “He’ll, yeah!”

Yrs ago, I did an Inipi Ceremony in the deep woods in Pa.The Land belonged to a Tribal Elder that did the ceremony. A group of us were supposed to stay out several days/nights after Prayers and preparing ourselves. We had to sit up awake all the time. .......But the first night, I was hearing in the distance mountains sounds like a mix of cougars & gorillas calling back & forth to each other....Next morning I asked the Elder what it was, but he refused to tell me. ..Of course I suspected what it was, but I didn't continue discussing it......I didn't do another night there.
Inipi is the Lakota word for a sweat. Who was the holding it in PA because that's not Lakota territory. It's not traditional for men and women to sweat together so it's probably better that you left.
PA is Lenape land in the eastern part.

It is good that you are sharing this with us. I have always wondered what experiences that the Indian Reservations have had with Sasquatch, because they should be experts on them.
That's no coyote...I'm 55 and have lived out in the middle of nowhere all my life, coyotes come in our front yard...that's definitely not a coyote..

I love hearing interaction stories from native Americans. They've seen much more of these elusive creatures than the rest of us. I wonder how many stories have been lost, from the pre-colonization days, about interactions with hairy man and other woodland creatures that may have been driven to extinction long before they could be documented by "civilized" society.

Used to hear those sounds as a kid before the elk were killed off. Now the elk are back and am waiting for the sounds to return. Also came across a group of them elk hunting the park boundary in 2001. They made clacking sounds and threw rocks at me.

We are decendants of people of Ukrainian & Polish heritage. The 3 face to face encounters at our home in Connecticut were enough to convince us these things are nothing more than animals that live I the woods. They were not at our home scaring the daylights out of my sister for any good purpose. They were not there to help us with our taxes, they weren't there to cut our lawn and they certainly were not there to teach us how to develop clean energy sources. We also saw they came out of the woods and went back into the woods, they did not climb into a spaceship to rendezvous with the Mothership, they didn't arrive through some time warp or portal or any other such nonsense. For the trouble they caused at our home in Connecticut, my Father 82nd Airborne Paratrooper kept a rifle and a box of ammo by the kitchen door, and if these things came back anymore, they were going to end up in a display case at nearby Yale University in New Haven Connecticut or maybe UCONN.
